So, who is staying up late to watch this episode after it drops at midnight (ET)? -
S04.E09: Escape From Planet Klongo

All very good points. The Tim Kono angle occurred to me, too. And, as Yeah No pointed out, we saw Marshall (or someone that looks like him) put the pillow over Glen's face, but we didn't see a flashback to him shooting Sazz. This season's recurring theme has been doubles, or twins, so I agree that there is room for the last episode to go anywhere. I kind of hope that Marshall is not the killer, because I have imposter syndrome as well (as do most people) and I sympathized with him in that episode. Plus, I love the actor playing Marshall. But, the show's pattern has not been to have that big of a twist in the last episode. Maybe they'll be different this time. -

Sazz was killed the night before they got the texts about the movie, so she had been figuring things out for a while before her murder. Marshall (or Rex) had to have submitted the script long before Sazz's murder. The movie was at the start filming stage when Sazz was killed. Somehow, the killer found out she was going to tell Charles a secret and knew she had to be silenced. The cameras in the trio's apartments would have given whoever installed them intel about what was happening. Maybe they overheard Sazz telling Charles she needed to talk with him about the "sensitive" matter. If I think too hard about this, my brain hurts. 🤔🧠🤯 -
S04.E09: Escape From Planet Klongo

For all those hoping for a big twist in the final episode, that hasn't been the show's pattern (except for season 2). The killer is revealed in episode 9, and then episode 10 is usually the season's denouement and set-up for the next season. But like many of you, I would love it if there is a final twist worthy of all of our fabulous theories about what is going on. (Still disappointed there wasn't a fabulous twist at the end of season 3.) While I thought Marshall was the killer from the moment he first appeared, I never thought it was over the script for the movie. Exactly when he stole the script and submitted it as his own, I'm not sure, but it had to be a while before our trio went to Hollywood to meet with Bev. They were surprised to see how far along the movie was when they got there. Heck, it had even been cast. I doubt that everything will be resolved satisfactorily, but put me in as hoping that Loretta is involved. Ha! One other theory. I have some suspicions about Helga. She's a locksmith, which would make it easier for her to access the trio's apartments. Why she would direct them to look at the stunt person from Ronconkoma, I don't know. Maybe she's working on something else, but I think she's involved more. Maybe. -
S04.E09: Escape From Planet Klongo

Sazz arrived at the opening night party in the last episode of Season 3 with that box of beer. She left it at Oliver's place because she never came back from Charles' place, where she went to get the wine. I guess she had the script in there and was going to tell Charles about it. The trio took it to the hospital to try to wake Glen Stubbins from his coma with the aroma of beer. When they got back to Oliver's apartment, Oliver mentioned that he didn't want it, so Mabel took it. That's why it was in her refrigerator in the studio apartment where she's been squatting. -

👏 👏 👏 I really enjoyed this episode. I never thought we were going to see Ron Howard, but at last, one of Oliver's stories proves to be true. While I suspected Marshall P. Pope from the first episode, the "why" was more difficult to figure out. This episode clears up who the shooter was after. I think. Because Marshall had every reason to kill Sazz but not Charles. As others have guessed before me, the resolution of other plot holes will probably come in a later season. At least Glen is freed from seeing rats. RIP Glen Stubbins. 💔 Now all that has to happen is the wedding. -

Loved that line! 🤣 -
Oh, sorry, I should have referenced Milburn Stone's hope for no more seasons. Plus, I thought the reference was for next season as last season, but maybe what was meant things will not be completely resolved until the last season, whenever that is. 🤔

Are we certain that Season 5 is the last season? I don't think so.

And I absolutely hate her books, but they are very popular.

I have to say that this season I am more unsure than ever about what is really going on. And that is saying a lot because Season 2 really came out of left field for me. Season 1, I was focused on the jewelry Tim was buying up and the grave-robbing scheme that Teddy and Theo were involved in, and had no idea that Tim was murdered Season 2, I was focused on Charles' father's story and the painting . Although I did appreciate that the season was referencing the podcast murder that had initially brought the trio together. Season 3 I enjoyed, for all of the theatre insider stuff, and the Broadway production and how crazy that all can be. I had all kinds of crazy theories about Loretta and who her real son was, and it turned out that the solution was not crazy but pretty straightforward. This season I have a guess as to who the murderer might be, I've had it from episode one, but only for reasons outside of the show. I still have no idea of the "why." I hope I'm not disappointed with the resolution, as I enjoy the world this show has created. However, they do make it very difficult (for me) to figure out what the heck is going on.

I feel the same about Howard as you do about Paul Rudd.

I'm wondering a lot about the entire rent-control scheme. Dudenoff said that he and his wife "bought" all of these apartments over the years, and he started sharing them with the "Westies" after she passed away. But if they bought those apartments, wouldn't they own them? (Like owning a condo?) Wouldn't they be allowed to charge whatever rent they wanted? (AKA $200 per month.). AND, if they owned them, couldn't he have just willed all of those apartments to the Westies, and they wouldn't have to worry about being caught in a rent-control scheme? I'm pretty sure he said that they bought the apartments. I guess he could have meant that they signed leases on all of them but he didn't say that. This just seems unnecessarily complicated to me, but this show does go there.

Is it too early to have named the killer? I'm trying to remember when we were certain in the other seasons. Was it always episode 8 or was it 9, and then the denouement? At any rate I'll be very sad if Glenn is behind all of "this." Could be why he acts like he's seeing rats, to cover up his true motives. I always try to watch the episodes when they drop, because I am not good with delayed gratification. I have to say, I didn't feel like this episode was worth staying up for. Last week's was, but not this one. It was okay, and I kind of loved that they went to the movie set of Charles' apartment to plan their next move. Also a shallow note, but I would have loved to live in Dudenoff's studio apartment. He had a very nice setup. Ah well, only two episodes left, and it's not looking like I know anything at all about anyone's motivations for killing Sazz or Charles or any of the trio. The tragedy is that after this is ove, it will be another year to wait for the next one. #greedy.

Noa's sense of morality was deeply influenced by his father Isak. He adored Isak (and Isak adored him) and wanted to be like him. Losing Isak the way he did had to have been a crushing blow. And Noa's mother seemed so selfless and innocent to him. To find out that someone like Hansu is his biological father must have been devastating. He had seen him beat a man almost to death. And it altered his idea of his mother (sex outside of marriage etc.) He loves her but cannot face her knowing her secret. I was devastated for him, and honestly could not stand his girlfriend. Not that I advocate violence against women, but I think I might have raised a hand to her myself, just to knock that stupid grin off her face.

S04.E07: Valley of the Dolls

Complaining about security cameras being installed makes her look suspicious, and she has always hated the trio, her first appearance in the show she's flipping the bird at Charles. While I think a lot is going on with her, I don't see her as Sazz's killer, but I do see her as putting the note on Oliver's door. Not sure if I like her for poisoning Winnie though. I also don't know if she would be able to get cameras installed in their apartments. We know the Brothers Sisters installed some, but someone else did too. Who has easy access to all of the apartments? Oscar's father (not seen since season 1). The doorman. Anyone who knows about the secret passageways. Another unanswered question from Season 1 was the enormous diamond ring that Tim Kono had shipped to himself, that Charles and Mabel took out of Bunny's apartment. It was never explained who Tim got that for. I know he was buying jewelry to find the ring that Zoe was wearing the night she died, so he could prove Oscar's innocence. But that ring seemed like a separate thing. Could be nothing. #Fridaymorningramblings -

I have been suspicious of Loretta from the beginning, but in this episode she encouraged Mabel to work with the actors because actors are like detectives in that they try to figure out their characters' motivations, etc. And darned if they didn't come through for our trio. I don't think Loretta would want to be helpful in the investigation if she were involved. (Although, Jan inserted herself into the investigation in season 1 and tried to point them toward Howard. Hey, wait a minute ...) I guess anything is possible with this team of writers, but I guess I'm moving Loretta to the bottom of my suspect list. For now. -

Thank you, I think you're right. And now back to discussing the episode! I was disappointed to not see Theo this episode. He has been in every episode 7 since the first season. So maybe he won't be in this season. Sad. -

It's possible his mother remarried or had another relationship after Charles's father. There is a big age gap between the two siblings. -

I love Melissa McCarthy. And also, season one is referenced again! #whopoisonedwinnie -
The I letters do not match in each message. In the note to Jan, the I letters are straight lines, in the message on Charles's phone they have a cross (serif) on them. To me, only the words are the same, it doesn't look like the same handwriting. (The A characters are different too.)
