  1. I recall liking Tony #1, so I looked him up on Wikipedia. Doesn't look like his career took off. Sadly, Tony #2, Jay Bontatibus (who I barely remember), died in real life from cancer at age 52. Yup - Tim Sullivan, her college professor.
  2. I'm thinking Stephanie will be the upset winner. In a previous episode, they ran clips of the upcoming season and one was of Padma saying "YOU are the Top Chef!" She seemed surprised and delighted. Of course, I could be reading too much into it.
  3. I was enjoying all these Cane-free flashbacks, and now this. Ugh.
  4. And she hired (special guest star) Rich Little to do the impersonations!
  5. Does anyone recall a dropped plot-line where Brad received a letter from his family, but hid it in a drawer? This was years before that George Kaplan thighs of steel nonsense.
  6. From cbs.com: Storylines for Y&R’s “The Abbotts Week” episodes are as follows: Monday, June 1 Family and friends gather to witness the nuptials of Traci (Beth Maitland) and Brad (The Bold and the Beautiful’s Don Diamont) while Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) and Dina (Adams) plot against Jill (Walton), and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) struggles with her drinking. The episode originally aired January 11, 1991. The episode originally aired Aug. 24, 2006. The episode originally aired Dec. 24, 2019.
  7. Next week's "classic episodes" feature villains, including David Kimble (yay!) - (sounds like the trash compacter episode to me). From cbs.com: Monday, May 25 The walls close in on the nefarious David Kimble (Michael Corbett); Traci (Beth Maitland) keeps a secret from Brad (Don Diamont); and Nina (Tricia Cast) comes out of hiding. The episode originally aired Oct. 7, 1991. Tuesday, May 26 Isabella (former cast member Eva Longoria) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) settle unfinished business, while Paul (Doug Davidson) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) unravel a mystery. The episode originally aired August 14, 2003. Wednesday, May 27 Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart) revenge plot takes a dangerous turn, while Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon (Sharon Case) fight for the spotlight at the Newman Ranch. Friday, May 29 Lauren (Bregman) and Michael (Le Blanc) see double as they come face to face with Lauren's imposter, while Kevin (Rikaart) races to save Jana (Emily O'Brien) from Ryder (Wilson Bethel, CBS’ All Rise). The episode originally aired April 27, 2010.
  8. I remember him as Siobhan's husband Joe Novak on Ryan's Hope, which was (gulp!) nearly 40 years ago.
  9. Next week's theme is the Winters family. According to CBS.com: Monday, May 18 Kristoff St. John makes his Y&R debut when Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) crosses paths with a newly hired Neil Winters (St. John) at Jabot. Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) receives disturbing news about Brock (Beau Kazer), and Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) and Nate (Nathan Purdee) share a difference of opinion. The episode originally aired Feb. 13, 1991. Tuesday, May 19 Neil's (St. John) estranged brother, Malcolm (Shemar Moore, in his first appearance on Y&R), arrives in Genoa City; Cricket (Lauralee Bell) faces a tough battle in court, and Victor (Eric Braeden) takes a leap of faith to help Hope (Signy Coleman). The episode originally aired Feb. 9, 2005. Thursday, May 21 Neil (St. John) searches for Lily (Christel Khalil) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) in California with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Nick (Joshua Morrow), while Drucilla (Rowell) stands her ground with Malcolm (Moore) back home, and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) learns of Ashley's (Eileen Davidson) connection to Tom Fisher (Roscoe Born). Friday, May 22 Neil (St. John) and Drucilla's (Rowell) adoption of Devon (James) is official; Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Davidson) plot to keep Gloria (Judith Chapman) in line; and Jill (Jess Walton) searches for answers about her past. The episode originally aired Dec. 7, 2006.
  10. Christine - I vaguely recall him digging through a wall to get to her. I had to look it up on Wikipedia - turns out it was attempted rape, since Paul stopped him. (It also mentions that he strangled someone, so he's an attempted rapist and a murderer with a heart of gold).
  11. It's "Rivals Week." CBS.com has the following: Monday, May 11 Jill’s (Jess Walton) search for the truth leads to an epic confrontation with Katherine (Jeanne Cooper); Sharon (Sharon Case) worries about Grace’s influence on Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) causes trouble for Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). The episode originally aired May 22, 2014.
  12. It was Ghost Phillip, back when they thought he was dead. (They also had Ghost Rex). It was A Very Special Episode, so they brought them back for cameos. So, since Phillip was not really dead, he must have been Delirium Tremens Phillip.
  13. Is Y&R the only soap that has the actors' names in the opening credits? I recall that being a big deal when it was first introduced, which in my mind was only recently. But now I see they were doing it back in 2004! Ugh, time is flying . . .
  14. You're right, they did say "updog." (But, in Bugs' defense, I think the current "what's up, dog?" was a take on his classic question) 🐰😀
  15. It's actually "updoc," which supposedly triggers a Bugsbunnyish "What's up, doc?" response.
  16. She's off making critically-acclaimed independent films 🙂 I think I read that Beanie Feldstein will be unavailable this season.
  17. And what's up with saying they're advancing to the "studio rounds?" Will the shows no longer be live?
  18. I miss the days when they started in late May, so we would be in the live rounds by the beginning of July. Now it all seems so rushed.
  19. "isn't that the old nu-Nate before the recast? Weird." That pic with Old NuNate is from Hilary's funeral, not Neil's.
  20. I'll miss Eddie. I liked when he "paid it backwards" by giving his excess cash at Whole Foods to the next chef in line. I guess maybe it was residual guilt from the "Eddie Money" episode.
  21. They probably can't use the trademarked term "Uber," so it's like their infamous "FacePlace™"
  22. FYI: Milo's Disney movie "Zombies" airs tomorrow night (Thursday, Oct. 18th) at 6:15 P.M. and repeats 8:30 P.M. (EST) on the Disney Channel (Amurica, not Canada). I had never seen the kid before DWTS, so it might be fun to see him act.
  23. One of my cousins posted pictures of our aunt lying in state on Facebook. I think he thought it would just show up in family members' feeds (which is bad enough), but the sharing settings were set to public. Horrifying.
  24. I definitely heard Cat say "see you next summer," which I take to be a good sign. Keep your fingers crossed.
