  1. It seems really unlikely that they would just allow CP to take a vacation when they need her .So it is way more likely something really important happened to cause her to miss these episodes. As for her getting more time off, I don't a have problem with CP requesting more time off when I considered the fact that even when she is there, they have not been really using her. Like stories that Iris should be part off, she's nowhere to be find, or she is simply in the background, and it's not cause CP wanted time off but simply because the writers didn't think Iris was needed. It most be frustrated to be just sitting there, waiting for the writers to give you screen time. Also, if it is in her contract, that means the writers will know exactly how to write the episodes in order to give her time off.
  2. Did they let her go or was Emily just done with the show and there was nothing they could offer her to stay ?
  3. Sounds like contract speaks to me. She is in the middle of contract negotiations and don't know how it will turn out. I see CW trying to give her whatever she wants after losing two main characters. But at the same time, with Jordan and Jessica back on the show, depending on the impact these two have on the fanbase/ratings, I can see CW being willing to let DP go if she is asking for too much and just turn the next season, most likely last, into the Flash family season.
  4. Happy about the possibility of less Harrison. Sad about Carlos.
  5. Looking at Arron Burr objectively, base on the story, I should hate him but I can't because Leslie is so good. I love Leslie . I can't count how many times I have watch Hamilton but I still can't stop rewinding Burr's scene. Because of Leslie, instead of hating Burr, I feel sorry for him. I love all the cast members, I think all of them were great. I'm so happy for Renee's success, as someone who knew her from OLTL when I was a little girl watching it with my Mom. I hated how she was treated on that show, so to see her shine brighter than ever, makes me really happy. Anyway, I still have a Disney account simply because this show is my happy place. It came pretty handing last night and today, instead of stressing over the election, I was able to experience this show again, and see new things.
  6. I'm seeing a lot of comments about how Randall was the wrong character for this racism issue...to me that underscore the fact that Randall was the perfect subject for this issue. It is easy to have empathy for a young innocent child. It is easy to sympathize with a character you already like. It might be easier to see the point view of a character you don't consider to have privileged. When it comes to racism and a lot of other issues these factors bring in the temporary allies But Randall is not any off those things. He is a man, whose personality might make him unlikeable. He is a man, raised and love by a white family. He is a man who was gifted enough to attend schools that most POC and white wouldn't be able to attend. He is a man who is lucky enough to be upper middle class unlike most of us. He is a character who the fandom seems to think have been shoved down their throats with his man pain and drama. Can the inhumanity, pain and danger of racism still be seen in this imperfect person? Does the person have to be likable/perfect for people to understand how painful it must be for this Black person to experience and witness his humanity being debated, question and legalized ALL the time. For people to believe him when he say he is exhausted emotionally from seeing violence be done to people like him and have media/society prosecute those people in death because they were not the perfect Black person. And imagine them using his anxiety, his "I know better than everyone else" attitude, his break-downs, his drug addicted bio-parents, all the little things wrong with him to justified his life being taken, like those things warranted a violent death. Because like all human beings they might have made some mistakes, done some things that were wrong and those things are used to justified them being kill like they were insects. The writers are challenging and revealing who are temporary and conditional allies and people who really sees and truly understand that racism is painful, exhausting and dangerous for all Black people, because it takes away the humanity of all Black people, no matter whether they're good, bad, rich or poor. As for the "tone" of Randall's statement, I think if people were able to truly understand where Randall was coming from, like they do Kate, and listen to him, without preconceived notions or ideas about how he should feel, we wouldn't be talking about his tone.
  7. Again, just because Randal is struggling with being a Black man in world that doesn't seem to value his life simply because he is Black doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the fact that he was lucky enough to have a family adopt him days after he was born and love him. It doesn't mean he doesn't value and appreciate what he was lucky to received. Yeah, Randal saw himself as an outsider in the Pearson family, despite them loving him. They love him but he was constantly being reminded in a little ways that he was different from them, not only because he was adopted (Kevin) but because he was Black. Because of the Pearsons attitude towards dealing with tough/painful issues, he probably felt alone when facing racial difficulties all his life. Pearson could have done better, had they known better because they clearly love Randall. But them not knowing better, therefore didn't do better, doesn't negate Randall's experience and pain. Randall understand all of this. This is why he didn't go off on his sister who is only now considering what it is like to be a Black man seeing people like him get kill over and over and people justify those murders. It is why he is isolating himself from his white family because he knows that whatever he says on the issue is going to make them uncomfortable and hurt them. They will question his appreciation and love for what they have done for him. Right now, he is just too exhausted to hold back his truth and deal with educating them. My hope is that Kate give him space while educating herself on this issue.
  8. As a Black man, what does having a white family protect Randal from when it comes to racism/racial bias? Will cops see him as white when they pull him over? Will racist people see him as white? Will racially bias people in stores/work/streets see him as white? I just really wants to understand this theme off people going off on Randall for daring to feel the pain of being a Black man when he was lucky enough to get raised by a "white" family". As for Kate NOW wanting to talk to Randall about this issue. They're almost 40 yrs old, Randall have been Black since Kate knew him. Racism didn't start now. Black people getting killed by cops and as a result of racism and feeling unsafe have been happening since before Randall and Kate were born, during their childhood, teenage yrs and young adulthood and on. This means that Kate had at least a decade to educate herself as a sister of a Black man. She had at least a decade to talk to this brother about these painful issues. But she waited until SHE was feeling uncomfortable, until she saw in living color the pain her brother has spent almost his whole life dealing with, to go to him and ask him about it. During a time when it's the worst for him because he can't push it down, he can't ignore it because it is all up in his face. Good for Kate that she is finally seeing the world Randall has live in his whole life. But that doesn't mean Randall should be a position to teach her or talk about it while he is dealing and experiencing it.
  9. It's the same thing with the fandom. Because it seems like Candice gets a lot of attention, sometimes more than GG, they confused that with Iris getting attention on the show.
  10. I noticed that too. Maybe now CP might start following them again because she is not following them on Twitter and GG is not following them on IG.
  11. Eric is such a liar. Iris was not the focus on either A or B part of the season. It seems to have focused more on everyone else except Iris and Joe. It is really telling that Iris was one of the less focus on character in S6 but the fandom thinks the show has become "Iris and Team flash" while Eric actually claimed Iris was the focus of the second half. No wonder Iris gets the less consideration, the fandom reflect the writers room and the writers room reflect the fandom. I'm tired of this.
  12. I think this difference have more to do with the writing for Iris. In S1 she seems more carefree and like a youth young woman. But in recent seasons she seems less "light" and more "mature", even in the way they dress her.
  13. I have never seen it in her performances but I think if things don't change backstage, she might seriously consider leaving.
  14. What really surprise me about NB interview is when she stated that her fans seems so aware of what was happening without her having so say anything because she couldn't say anything at the time but her fans seems to get what was happening to her/her character. Her interview makes me so grateful that Candice is able to speak some of her truth while still on the show. She might not be able to tell all but at least she is getting some stuff off her chest. I hope it doesn't cost her too much but it seems like she is aware that it might.
  15. I'm happy Candice is speaking up about her experience being on the show. It made me sad when she said that “it’s one thing to make me the female lead of your show. it’s another thing to just to leave me there all alone.” Her fans noticed this from the start and created/organized a group just to defend her/push back against the hatred/meanness/bias and racist narrative against her the minute she was announced as Iris. This is why she never throw her fans under the bus, even when some in the media attempted to make her say something against her fans fierce support and protection of her. I'm sure the IWDS feel validated knowing that despite what some fans claimed, they were not seeing things. She's lucky because base on what I have seen and experience in fandoms/show, majority of Black female characters could really use a defense squad to have their backs.
  16. He deleted his twitter account in May and if I remember correctly, these tweets were still on his account. People were trying to get more when he deleted his account.
  17. All of this is true, either way, CP is going to get the blame, just like DP fans & others are blaming her for HS getting fired. Even thought GG, Dani, and EW are the one who spoke against HS and CP stayed silent, she is the one getting trash in his name.
  18. I think DP is still in very good standing with TPTB, so I honestly think this depends largely on how DP feels about still working on the show. Her seemingly tense relationship with CP and CP being more out-spoken about her treatment on the set and within the fandom might make DP want to leave or work less on the show.
  19. And they appear to be the close to her.
  20. Agree. Also the problem was that they were just not one or two tweets, they were several with the same "themes" and he didn't even think to delete them when he "learned better" or got hire on Flash. I like Flash and I think HS was a good actor but I agree with TPTB decision to fire him.
  21. I agree. These are people who have been in the industry, some for decades, an industry that have plenty of divas and assholes/jerks, so I'm sure these people can tell the difference between those experiences/treatments and racism. I'm not going to deny them their truth because I can't or don't want to believe that Lea have racist views/tendencies, and just want to believe she is simply a diva/jerk who treats everyone horribly. Heather M, can't speak for those Black co-stars. Her experience is not theirs.
  22. She can be both. She doesn't have to hate Black/POC for her to have racist view and tendencies, like most people, but unlike most people, she had the power/privilege to express those views/feelings, because she didn't fear or expect consequences. And honestly, she was right.
  23. Alex co-signed this tweet. And Amber/Kevin seems like they wanted to comment also but weren't ready to do so. We always heard RM took inspiration from the actors in the roles, so....
  24. DP most have a really good contract. I hope CP take notes and send them to whoever negotiation her contracts.
  25. I know it most likely means nothing beyond that scene but the way Barry told Siri to "shut-up" in that moment was interesting to me. He said it with no real heat or hatred.
