  1. Can Damon just stake himself? That would be ever so nice. Or hell, stake Stefan and put him out of his misery.
  2. In the books, what (or is there) is the explanation for why Quentin cheats on Alice with Janet/Margo?
  3. Damn Quentin, you fucked up. We did? There's a very quick shot of Elliot and Q kissing.
  4. Could you expand upon your thought process here? No one who leaves Brakebills with a degree seems to be poor? They seem to be very educated but bored as hell in some cases since they can do anything they want, but they're not financially destitute. I'm not even sure these Brakebills students pay for school? Has that been clarified? I get where you're going with the rest of your post although I honestly think the boring answer for why we don't see Elliot and Margo in a classroom setting is because the producers/people behind the show don't want to spend the money on that scene when we need the scenes with Alice, Penny, Quentin, and previously Kady as the newbies (like we are in the audience) so it makes more sense to see them learning all the magic stuff for the first time.
  5. Marina had nearly 90% of a Brakebills education, she very nearly graduated, I think that played a big part in why she was so powerful + the stuff she learned after she was kicked out. Julia seems to be a special unique talent that won't need Brakebills and Marina saw something worth nurturing in until Julia crossed her and Marina got mad. Pete didn't seem all that talented and the rest of the hedge witch group seemed like they weren't capable of all that much. We're seeing Margo and Elliot in their third year of school, so presumably they have already done everything Quentin, Penny, and Alice have done and studied. Margo and Elliot have shown that they are fairly educated/talented what with Margo being competitive at that game (tournament thing) and Elliot's spell work getting rid of The Beast temporarily while he was possessing that guy's body. They also had that episode where they were laser focused on finding a good mentor for after their graduation and I don't think stupid or talent-less magicians would bother putting in that kind of effort in my opinion. Although they like to party, drink, and take drugs, I still think it has been conveyed that they are talented magicians.
  6. Are we sure the people stuck in the Neitherlands are definitely a book thing? I mean it has been mentioned once or twice that the show diverged from the book plot, right? I figure that the ex-custodians used to work in the library until perhaps they grew dissatisfied with their lives in the Neitherlands since there's not much there to do at all, tried to revolt, got banished to just living around the fountains, and now can no longer enter the library or do anything else. So they wait and wait and try to escape. Perhaps that is their home world? No, I doubt everyone who jumps into a fountain has to have a button. I think it was an accident that Penny ended up there. I mean he touched the button at the end of the last episode, an episode where he and the rest of the group ended up harassed, assaulted, stressed and attacked by the crazy ass ghost lady and the haunted house with the dungeon in it. It seems that the traveling Penny does has to be well thought out, practiced, and precise otherwise he ends up way off course like he did in last night's episode. Quentin did ask Penny why he couldn't just come back on his own, remember? Penny said something about the Neitherlands having two moons (I think?) so it was throwing off his internal compass?
  7. I kind of assumed for some reason that they were so hellbent on catching Penny because they wanted his magic or something? I got the impression that they were stuck there, around the fountains, and they want the ability to be able to leave and travel to other worlds. 90% sure Penny still had the button by the end.
  8. LMFAO...I was cracking up within the first five minutes of this episode. I am SO buying this DVD set when it comes out. Unless the writers massively fuck up the next three episodes, I can say that overall, I enjoyed the hell out of this first season.
  9. I just rewatched the first episode and I was wondering: Is there a reason The Beast walks the way he does? He had a very particular way of stepping/ gait during the end scene in the classroom. Is that part of the spellwork? Or just the way he walks?
  10. I'm just spitballing here, but maybe Eliza spent a large period of time in Fillory and Martin eventually was able to grow those extra fingers for the spell work, got into Fillory, did some twisted shit and killed some people (that maybe Jane/Eliza cared for), and Eliza tried for years to kill him and end it so she has now lost any sympathy she might have once had for Martin (if he's The Beast)?? They don't seem to have aged normally.
  11. Oh shit, this entire episode made me really fucking sad and uncomfortable. I felt so sad for those kids.
  12. Lucas having to repeat a year would make him older than Riley, not the same age. Peyton is 16 playing Lucas who is 15 or so in Season 2 while Riley is 14. Riley's birthday is apparently December 8th, 2001 (which makes sense with when BMW ended).
  13. Corey is such a pathetic pushover in the classroom. I'd hoped after fans kept mentioning how the main group just disrespects him constantly that the writers would have fixed that during Season 2 but nothing changed.
  14. I think Kat Graham might be on her way out. The paycheck is probably really good after 7 years, but IDK..I have this weird feeling that Plec and Dries might kill Bonnie off for good & come up with some new convoluted loophole as to why Bonnie dying doesn't bring Elena back ASAP. They already have a witch replacement in Valerie & Bonnie was rendered essentially useless so many times, so it could happen.
  15. I thought so too...but apparently it was just a rumor? Anyways, I agree with the poster up-thread who said these kids are way too melodramatic. It's middle school, it really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. No one cares what legacy you leave behind at that age. "People change people" is such a bland ass/ mundane phrase and inscription for that bench. It's not remotely clever or astute. I've read some of the show-runner interviews and I'm not really liking what I hear, so I think I'll pop back in mid Season 3 and hopefully the triangle of doom will be over, Riley's brainless moments lessen, the writers decide once and for all if Maya is poor and downtrodden or really middle class with a super loving Mom (with no more money issues), Lucas isn't so stilted (he's gotten much better though), Farkle is okay so far, and Zay is given more to do than just be the guy delivering the occasional comic relief moment.
  16. I am loving the idea of Quentin and Penny as reluctant best friends in the end. I mean Penny took a damn knife/stabbing for Q, that's friendship material right there!
  17. Oh, makes sense that the shows would be synced up in that way. I wonder when the jump will officially take place though, season finale? I'm curious to see if both TO and TVD are renewed.
  18. Sorry, just popping in to ask: Has the three year time jump been confirmed for The Originals too?
  19. LMFAO..oh my goodness, if this had happened and I was either the mother/father/sister/brother I would've been so damn creeped out and would have then secretly proceeded to call the number of a qualified psychiatrist, hide any sharp or heavy items in the house, and sleep with my bedroom door locked. Something else I wondered about, in the flashback after Adam disappeared and the mom and dad are fighting on the lawn, the dad says "[older son] is drunk". So even soon after Adam disappeared and their older son was drinking because he felt guilty, neither parent thought it'd be a good idea to get him help? Rehab? Therapy? Hide the booze? Also, if the mom is mayor of the town, how has no one tried to tarnish her reputation by exposing her alcoholic son who does nothing and helps no one. It seems like having him as a son would reflect badly on her as an elected official.
  20. Tweet street? Twitter rumors? Who is Brian Young? When did Caroline Dries say she's leaving the show? Just TVD or is she leaving The Originals too?
  21. I noticed this too. When he was with the therapist, his parents, and the incompetent cop, he just seemed so detached about his years of rape and torture. The actor playing Adam is doing a fairly good job so far, but I can't tell if the character acts unhinged/ slightly detached but child like BECAUSE of the years of rape and torture or because he's an impostor with psychological issues so this is all a fake roleplay for him to get a better life.
  22. Damn, Damon is a fucking coward. Years go by and he continues to be the absolute worst. But then again, Stefan is the dumb fuck who continues to eagerly give up every single thing and person that makes him happy or fulfilled in service of getting Damon what he wants and when he wants it, so I guess Damon is the real winner in the end. Did Bonnie and Stefan have lobotomies off screen in between seasons so that they feel some indescribable impulse to do anything and everything for Damon? There's being a good friend and brother, and then there's the situation on TVD where two people spend all of their time doing everything for Damon.
  23. Adam creeped me out when he was watching those home movies at night and mimicking young Adam's speech pattern and cadence. He seems to be either slightly unhinged or perhaps he comes from an abusive background and decided he wanted to become Adam because his life is better than the one he originally had. If the drunk brother puts down his flask long enough, he'll probably be the one to figure out that Adam isn't their real brother/son.
  24. That cop deserves to lose her fucking job, like what level of utter incompetence.. also, I only base my knowledge of kidnapping cases from books and TV of course haha, but wouldn't the FBI be in town ASAP with a case like this? The long thought dead boy of the Mayor returns ten years later, falsely accused man released from prison, it just seems like more authorities would be there to interrogate Adam? Also, couldn't drunk son just wait until no one is looking, take a brush Adam used or something with his DNA on it and get another DNA test conducted if he's so suspicious? I think the kid who says he is Adam really isn't but perhaps he was kept in captivity with the real Adam who eventually died but not before telling the impostor all about his family and other things. The daughter is kind of weird and extremely Type A and my random guess is that she was doing something shady all those years ago that inadvertently led to Adam being kidnapped and she's felt guilty ever since that event.
