  1. Excellent news, thanks! I tried asking the official twitter and didn't get a response. Looking forward to the release in July!
  2. So uh, that sounds very much like someone high up at the network reprimanded Ian for going ahead and saying the show was ending when that's not his decision to make, only if he himself will return past Season 8. Pretty quick about face on the topic.
  3. I really think they did. If I recall correctly, we got news of the Season 2 renewal very early on, and that means (I assume) the writers and crew knew a little bit before it was public news, which would have left them with plenty of time to re-write or initially write the season finale script so that it ended the way it did. I hope the actress who plays Marina returns for Season 2 even though she got a role on Wayward Pines.
  4. So, I'm not exactly sure how this works, but will the Magicians have a Season 1 dvd released? Do all SyFy shows get dvd releases? I mean since it's coming back for a Season 2, that's a pretty good sign, right?
  5. That was fucking intense. I do see what you mean by this though. I thought overall it was a really good season finale, and I'm so glad I gave this show a chance. I needed a new genre/sci-fi show to pick up and this steadily improved throughout the season. My heart broke for Julia and I was incredibly surprised to see Marina show up. I also haven't exactly given up hope on Quentin and Alice finding their way back to each other which made my dorky shipper self a little happy. Penny getting his hands chopped off was intense and the rest has me very much looking forward to Season 2. The show has been surprisingly light on the gore factor I think, other than Kady's mom hemorrhaging, poor Richard getting his heart ripped out and the others in Julia's group dying, the show has managed to somehow limit the amount of blood and violence. This show is relatively tame on the violence aspect compared to others like TVD for example.
  6. Preach! This is true and IMO will remain true until the show ends. I mean the little girls think of Caroline as their mommy, so it'd be a little harsh if she just abandoned them to run off with Stefan (who will always choose Damon over all..mostly) so I just have no clue how this is going to be resolved. Is Candice even coming back full time for Season 8? I wonder if she might want to be dropped to recurring since she just had a baby not too long ago and maybe doesn't want to be on the show for an entire 22/23 episode season? I guess it depends on if Season 8 is the last or something.
  7. So what's going to happen to Alaric's adorable twin toddler daughters? I'm guessing Caroline isn't in love with him at all even though that's not how it is for him..so is Caroline just going to abandon them and run off with Stefan by the end of the season? Compel them to forget her (can they even be compelled since I think they're witches?) Damn, I hope Plec and Dries don't kill them off by the end as an attempt at shock value.
  8. LMFAO...Thank you. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  9. Well, hope you all enjoy the rest of the season.
  10. What was supposed to happen for her? Was she supposed to go on to work in Oscar winning films? Emily isn't some hidden gem of a talent either, she got lucky with her role and she could very easily be another Nina Dobrev: main actress who is stuck on the CW for another 6 years on her CW show, popular in her small circle but fails miserably at breaking into the mainstream. Poor Nina is still kind of struggling at the moment with tiny indies and a role in the third XXX movie with Vin Diesel. Like not every actor or actress on the CW will go on to accomplish bigger and better things. Some just move from show to show and make small indies. Contrary to popular belief, sometimes "real big things" just don't ever happen for some actors. No matter how many Teen Choice Awards they get nominated for over time.
  11. No one has called her an amazing actress. In fact, its been mentioned that she's decent at best but her send off from a show that she was on for four years was pathetic.. No one on Arrow is excellent. Emily sure isn't, she plays nerdy geek girl with a pretty face fairly well but her other work is nothing to write to the Emmy committee about, neither is Stephen, he's wooden as hell and his body is a large part of the reason that he's so popular, and the less said about the other cast, the better. They're on the CW for a reason, let's be real. CW motto might as well be (except for a VERY few exceptions) "looks first, acting talent second" and yes, that includes Katie. From her turn in Gossip Girl, to Supernatural, to Arrow It was decent, and mostly on par with her co-stars.
  12. Nope, not just you. She's not a child, she's a professional actress who should have been afforded enough common courtesy by the show runners and writers to have been informed about the death of her character much earlier and as a grown ass woman and actress, she would have continued to do her job properly. Even if telling her at the start of the season isn't par for the course (which I honestly find odd, and again tells me that its ridiculous that Guggenheim and Mericle essentially admitted that they didn't decide until halfway through the season..like WHO does that? It's so so sloppy) they could have told her earlier than two episodes ago or so. Guggenheim called Katie a "class act" in an interview he just gave that was posted after the episode, but they sure didn't treat her like one with this pitiful send off and death. It was disrespectful in my opinion, plain and simple. I wouldn't put it past Guggenheim and Mericle to make Felicity the Black Canary in Season 5, I really would not be surprised. There was a line in one of the interviews he gave that makes me think he'd easily let another woman on the show pick up the mantle and become BC.
  13. Yeah, pretty much my thoughts. She's not like some once in a lifetime talent (I'm not delusional enough to think that, 90% of the actors on the CW are average and were hired for their looks), but she's decent enough to hopefully land on another show that I would watch because I feel like she got majorly fucked over here. They could learn to be good writers and showrunners and perhaps know who the major death of the season is at the beginning of the season and inform the actor then, not two episodes before it happens. That's sloppy as hell. The fact that Katie found out so recently indicates to me that they don't have a long term plan and just write as they go with no well-thought out plots. Losing a character like Laurel Lance is big, despite the illogical pretending like Black Canary doesn't matter at all..and they should have solidly decided who would die at the beginning of Season 4. Not halfway through.
  14. Well, they wrote this iteration of Laurel Lance, and they obviously can't write for shit, so the blame partly lies with them. Shitty writers will inevitably produce a mess of a show. Stephen "wooden as hell" Amell isn't exactly lighting up the TV every week with his turn as Oliver Queen either, so its not like Laurel/Katie was the only issue on the show. There's plenty to go around. Time for me to check out LOT and Supergirl. Hopefully those shows treat female superheroes better than Arrow. Good riddance to this hot mess of a show.
  15. I'm so annoyed by this entire damn episode. Just the ridiculous level of utter disrespect to Laurel, Black Canary, and Katie Cassidy is appalling. She deserved much better.
  16. Oh yes! This was even mentioned in the episode, I don't know how I forgot that! Thank you!
  17. Did anyone figure out what the title of the episode was all about? Was it referenced during the actual episode at all? I thought maybe it was 39 graves in reference to Josh and Victoria's fellow classmates that went to Fillory and got attacked by The Beast.
  18. Ooh, thanks for the spoiler stillshimpy :) I wonder how that will translate itself to the show, based on the quick shot of Alice in the promo but I believe Olivia Dudley is a series regular, so I'm curious to see if anything will change. Oh, one more thing: Penny is supposed to , right? during/after the confrontation with The Beast? I wonder if they'll still do that since it would presumably during Season 2.
  19. I have no problem with total spoilers :) so go ahead please! I'll still enjoy the hell out of the show anyway :)
  20. So, something I was wondering about was the revelation that the only thing different this time around was that Julia wasn't at Brakebills but she was supposed to be? How is that possible? Jane/Eliza can't really control how Julia responded to the entrance exam, can she? Was that just something the show threw in to give the Julia character a little peace of mind so she could have her resolution with the whole Brakebills denial, she and Q could be friends again, and they could go to Fillory? Good point!
  21. So I know that but do she and Quentin ever get back together or is the cheating incident the end of their relationship?
  22. I'm gonna need Elliot to be back to normal soon-ish. The alcoholic overly drugged Elliot is just a bore and not too entertaining. Burning the book and getting them kicked out of the library, fucking stealing a carrot that made him hallucinate and calling attention to them, ughh. I agree, he's a great character and the actor really makes his scenes interesting. I like The Librarian alot, a good recurring character and her wistfulness about all the places she'll never get to go or see was a nice quiet little bit with Penny. I really liked Alice and Quentin even though there was the occasional issue :( I hope this isn't the end of them together. Quentin in an asshole moment tries to call Alice out for the same thing he did..which, I'm glad she told him off for it. Yeah, he wasn't exactly himself and she did it because she was hurt, but even before the threesome, he was kind of a prick to Alice when she hadn't really done anything wrong. The scene where she is trying to work out their problem and then Penny gives her a pep talk showed that she still cares for Quentin, so I'm hoping it's not the end for them. Julia taking ownership for her mistakes! Quentin admitting he made missteps! They're back to being friends :) I like Richard more and more but I'm pretty sure he's dead meat sooner or later, so I'm trying to not get too attached. Penny and Alice as genuine friends is a new development that I enjoyed seeing. ETA: Alice is a badass bitch, and that small quick shot of her displaying her battle magic skills before they all hopped in the fountain at the end was awesome.
  23. It always makes me laugh when Ian talks shit about Damon. He is absolutely right about it all. Damon literally could kill anyone, anywhere, anytime and it'd be excused. He also clearly doesn't seem to give a shit about the Delena fans, it would be hilarious if Nina in the end decided to not come back to the show for the finale and basically did a whole "too bad so sad" so the incompetent writers were left struggling on how to end the story with them. 7 years in and at least Ian recognizes the ridiculous nature of the show.
