First off, I want to say the acting from everyone is top notch. Loved all the performances. But the writing and story are infuriating me and we're only on episode 2. I haven't read Fire and Blood, but I know the gist of what's going to happen. My problem is with the way the show is taking liberties with the story and basing so many things on "mistakes" and "misunderstandings". I would much rather see BOTH sides actually take accountability for things instead of what we're getting. Having the show lean so heavily on "it wasn't my intention" and Rhaenyra's side is good/Aegon's side is bad just isn't interesting. And don't get me started on the Alicent/Criston Cole relationship. I hate it with the fire of a thousand suns. If the show had made it a one off thing for the first episode I could have accepted it I suppose. But at the end of this episode when they go back at it again, UGH. Why, Alicent? Cole deserved to be pushed away after the Arryk/Erryk debacle, the mass ratcatcher hangings and taking her father's position as Hand. I was never a big Otto Hightower fan but he everything he said to Aegon/Criston was so true. Now he'll be gone and everything will go haywire.

So happy for Matty! I liked all three finalists but Matty really was a ray of sunshine, always smiling and happy and (most importantly) learning, which really helped him in the final. It was pretty obvious that Dan wasn't going to win after the first baking day (and after seeing his showstopper). And poor Josh, it's hard to win when your final bake isn't great.

I agree with everyone that's said this season is kind of boring. I don't really care about Kim and Barry and their divorce, and this episode had way, way too much of that topic. If I had to pick sides between the two of them I suppose it would have to be Barry because he comes off as trying a little (on camera at least--it could be just a show), whereas Kim strikes me as being selfish and delusional. Barry took her for granted all those years, Barry dictated how she should behave, etc etc. But she's always seemed to be the one in charge, the "neck that turns his head" so it doesn't quite jibe with the words that come out of her mouth. It feels like Kim is trying to say all these deep, meaningful things to show just how hurt and damaged she is, but it hasn't portrayed her in the way she's hoping. One thing Kim said that really stood out to me was that Ethan was upset at her because he was homeschooled. Like, what?? She truly believes that Ethan wants nothing to do with her over homeschooling? See? Delusional. I usually like seeing Micah and his friends' segments but the art show was kind of lame and I fast forwarded through the part with the flirty girl. Thankfully there was zero Lydia in this episode, so there's that.

This episode bored me. Too much focus on Lydia for one. She met up with Max to forgive him? Twice? Um, shut up Lydia. Everything out of her mouth is because of God or the holy scripture or something and I'm just tired of her self-righteousness. And I don't care about her new friend group that is also uber religious and there to support her. Blech. Don't care about Kim and her strange black under-eye eyeliner, or her overdone lipstick lips. Don't care about Barry or how he feels either. I did think that it was pretty appalling that Kim decided to tell her 9 year old and the other one (I forget how old she is) all about how she's not in love with their father anymore and she let it "slip" about divorce. Boundaries, Kim. Micah's party, while probably marginally more fun than when Ethan and Olivia turned 21, still didn't look like much of a party except when they took shots when everyone arrived. Glad at least Micah and Olivia seemed to appreciate the strip club, even though THAT didn't look like much fun either.

I don't recall the exact conversation, but Barry said something like, "It's nice talking to you because you're old enough to relate to this." Um, no Barry. Not sure how you think Lydia can relate to any kind of relationship issues since 1) she's never been in a relationship ever and 2) she believes texting a boy goes against God's plan or some such nonsense. And Lydia had literally nothing to say in response to Barry other than the occasional "mm hmm" or empty platitudes with an awkward smile. -
Even though I'm sure Adam Silver would love a game 7, I need the Warriors to finish this in Boston. The Warriors can get complacent sometimes, and I hope they don't have the mindset of, "If we don't win on Thursday, we still have the chance to come back to the Bay and do it there.". But you never know. You don't want to give the Celtics any opportunity to find something. I'm sure Curry bounces back, and hopefully we get Game 6 Klay so...go Warriors!!

Ugh, I couldn't care less about the Kim/Barry storyline. I don't know exactly what Kim's problem is with her marriage (I fast forwarded through her parts because I didn't want to hear her whining) but you had nine children in a Fundie marriage. You and your husband chose to shelter all nine kids from any outside influence, whether it be school or socialization or even sugar. And now you're complaining that you lost yourself or whatever? Spare me. And are we supposed to sympathize with Kim now that she decided to live apart from not only Barry, but her younger kids as well? She's really a piece of work. The only thing I got out of the Moriah/Nathan interaction is that he is freakishly tall. And they don't know how to make hot chocolate. Micah and his friends seem fine. At least he has semi-normal people he can hang out with. Blech Lydia the emotional vampire. Isaac cut you with a pizza crust? Is this really what we have to listen to with her? I may finally be figuring out who is who with the younger girls, since one or two of them got to say something. But I don't really care. Ethan and Olivia...just tell her you bought another car. Why do we need to drag this out over two or three episodes? And that's the cliffhanger? Opening the garage door? /eyeroll/

The Mavs have been fined for the third time this postseason for bench decorum, though it's pocket change to Mark Cuban. *eyeroll*. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/33964278/nba-fines-dallas-mavericks-100k-third-bench-decorum-violation-postseason Seriously, their bench needs to just sit down.

S04.E01 The Universe had Different Plans

I was surprised it took awhile for anyone else to post this. The opening "dance" with Kim and the younger girls was cringeworthy. I kept looking away from the tv hoping it would end but it seemed to go on and on. My face was like this 😬 the entire time. Also...are we to believe that Kim is going to be the instructor at this dance studio? Because she used to dance 25 years ago? Yikes. -
Just finished episode 6 and I don't really understand why Kevin is apologizing to Kane and why everyone seems to be backing any part of Kane's argument. Maybe I'm not rich enough to understand the nuances but...Kevin apparently went to an event, met a woman and slept with her weeks or a month before going on his date with Kim. So how is Kane revealing this information "protecting" Kim? If Kevin did what he did AFTER the date then sure, all bets are off and I wouldn't have a problem with someone telling Kim about it. But this happened prior to anything between Kevin and Kim so...why does it really matter to Kane? Agreed. He's ramped it up 1000% this season and it's not a good look (along with his overdone plastic surgery).

I've only watched the first two episodes of S2 so far. It's still entertaining but some of the drama seems forced like Kevin and Kim dating (but not really), and Anna being super bitter and aggressive with Christine. I'm sad to hear that Cherie and Jessey decided to leave the show and aren't in it past episode 2 apparently. I guess I understand, since their "storyline" was super gossipy and probably not something they wanted as public knowledge, seeing as how none of the main group knew about it.

Not to mention Memphis beat writers or twitter reporters or whoever they are, who tried to get JP suspended for walking onto the court when GP2 was injured. Then last night the Memphis coach tried to insinuate that Draymond fouled JJJ on that last 3 point shot and was "curious" what the Last 2 Minute Report would say. Ugh. Stop whining.
-
I can't believe the number of sportscasters and fans who are saying that GP2 "should have fallen better" or "known how to fall". Just wow.

Anyone still here? *crickets* Season 2 is coming!

Valley Girl was one of my favorite movies growing up. I absolutely coveted the lace shirt that Julie wore to the party where she first meets Randy, and all these years later I still keep an eye out for something similar (sadly have never found it though). I checked out the trailer to the remake and it just looked...not good.
