Kevin was super strong in a crazy talented season, but he was always kind, humble and apparently he is crazy intelligent (the judges have commented that his intelligence is above and beyond). Gregory just seems like such a wonderful person.

I met Sheldon at Tin Roof the day after his last elimination (he was stocking condiments). I gave him a hug and he was like, “don’t feel bad for me. I get to live on Maui and cook food for a living”. I think Tom gave him the highest compliment I’ve ever heard on this show. But yeah, a Kevin vs. Sheldon Season would be awful for me. I’m not a huge Nene fan and barely remembered the other girl. Leanne pulled an asshole move with the endive and I think Kevin called that out in the store. This show is usually above gamesmanship line that. Funny it came from her and not Malarkey.

I love this season, but I’m not loving Leanne. For all his faults. Malarky did not do her dirty. She blamed “someone” else for her lack of seasoning and everyone knew she meant him. I loved Leanne in Season 1, but she is not Gregory, Brian V., Kevin, or Melissa calibre. And her attitude is not great. Kevin, Melissa and Gregory are really knocking it out of the park. Brian V. will get there, but I would be happy with any of them winning (I’d prefer Kevin....I just love him, but Gregory is definitely moving up the ladder). Thank God Sheldon is not on this season because I couldn’t handle Kevin, Gregory and Sheldon competing against each other). What a horrible episode to have a double elimination! They really loved every dish.

I haven’t watched this week’s episode, but I feel pretty confident that there is no frickin way she pulls a nearly season long comeback.
-
Okay, I normally like Leanne, but it seemed that she threw the first stone in blaming someone else for the seasoning. Malarkey’s delivery was bad, but I don’t fault him. Voltagio seems even more stressed out than usual. And halleluf’in’uah Lisa Is not going to skate by to the finals on crappy, but not crappiest, dishes this year. I’m still bitter about her presence in that final. I don’t like Blais much, but he and Stephanie were ridiculously good that season and Lisa’s food and attitude sucked all season.

I actually really liked Malarkey in his season. No one was going to beat Hung that season, but Malarkey was every bit as good as everyone else that season. Malarkey is definitely over the top and I think he’s probably going to rub a lot of chefs the wrong way. I’m not sure if that’s because of his personality or the fact that he’s been hugely successful.

S12.E01: Back in the NY Groove
AttackTurtle replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Dorinda started her Tins attacks at the end of last season and it made zero sense then. She’s not going to come out looking like anything but a bully if she keeps this up. Tins is probably one of the most harmless ladies ever to appear on this show. Dorinda’s comment about laying on her back for shoes was completely uncalled for. I’ve long felt that Dorinda was the one closest to being an alcoholic. -
I actually like how they’ve subtly shown that Joshua Jackson’s character has a deeper relationship with at least Isabelle, then they actually show. Even when she came out dressed up for homecoming, his expression seemed to imply that he thought there was something more going on. While he will always be Pacey to me, JJ was actually one of the only good reasons to watch The Affair.

I like Eric, but have never been super interested in eating what he’s cooked. Nini is a dark horse, but she was kind of arrogant in Last Chance Kitchen...which she lost. I’m hoping that this doesn’t turn out to be a showcase for Brian Voltaggio. He was runner up in Vegas and on Top Chef Masters. When Blais won All Stars, it felt kind of like it was a given (I’m not a Blais fan. His comments always seemed to undermine Stephanie’s win. Stephanie was every bit as impressive as Blais throughout that season). That being said, a Volt/Kevin finale would be pretty epic.

So happy for Yukon Cornelius! I noticed that all of the Las Vegas season chefs did very well in this challenge. Stephanie choosing to make Indian is right up there with the idiots who make risotto. What’s worse, is that she really hadn’t made Indian before. I like Stephanie, but when she said she was making Indian, I said, “you idiot”.

That was so great!

Kevin definitely loves pork, but the guy can cook. He came from very humble means and his decision to forego MIT to be a chef was really tough on his family, as I don’t think his family had any college graduates. Las Vegas was a crazy talented group, but also had some assholes. Kevin stood out as being especially kind. Jen wasn’t bad in her original season, but was horrible in the first all-star season. The Volt brothers weren’t nasty to anyone, just super confident. Malarkey never bothered me in his season, but he was in a season in which the winner was spelled out early on. I actually rooted for Malarkey, but Hung was never going to lose. I ended up loving Hung when he got stuck with the cereal aisle for the grocery story challenge. I have a soft spot for Stache Joe as he was in Fatima’s season. That group is very tight knit and supportive of each other .... and how they rallied to be with her near the end of her life was just very sweet. I follow Joe on Instagram and hd is all about his pasta.

Padma once answered “Kevin Gillespie” when asked which chef’s food she would choose over any other. He was a beast in his season (the most talented Season in my opinion) and loves pork, but can do beautiful/refined food as well. He actually took a pass on going to MIT to become a chef. Sheldon is my favorite of all time, but a Kevin is a super close second.
-
I really like Leanne, but the caliber of the chefs in the first couple seasons (exception....Tiffany) were simply not as good as those that followed. I still love season one (loathed two), but while Leanne was great in season one, I can see her struggling here. Kevin better up his game. I can’t stand sword fish; hence I was worried from the get go. Jen Carrol was a legit contender in the Las Vegas season and I hope she keeps it together. Lisa was perhaps the most unworthy finalist to ever compete. To say she got there by pure luck is an understatement.

This is the only show that can actually distract me from the shit show that is the world right now. I’m rooting for Kevin, as he is my second favorite top chef ever (Sheldon will always be my numero uno). That being said, there are a few other really likable chefs (Leanne, Bryan, Gregory, etc...). I liked Malarkey during his season, but have a friend who worked as a waitress where he was the chef in Seattle and she cannot stand him. This should be a fun season. There are a couple dark horses, but Kevin vs. Bryan is always going to make for great competition.

S10.E18: Reunion Part 2
AttackTurtle replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I actually kind of enjoyed this season. I can't stand Jen and I'm sorry there is no justification for her behavior. I do like her husband. Jackie looked really great at the reunion and her husband is a cutie. I'm not sure why she is on the show as she doesn't appear to need it at all. I don't hate Theresa as I think she's actually a decent parent, but God she is so dumb. She went from defending every bad act committed by Danielle to now doing the same with Jen. I do find it funny that she always justifies things with, "she never did anything to me", but when others don't have her back in petty conflicts, she cuts them off for life. Jen may have some good points, but she is such an asshole that it all gets lost in her delivery and it doesn't make her own behavior any more acceptable. -
Not to mention a defendant can plea his/her case out whenever they pretty much want. It’s really entirely in the defendant’s court.

I thought the color of Sergio’s dress was pretty, but thought so much more could’ve been done for her. When I was pregnant, I actually didn’t like my belly just hanging loose under my clothes. I generally wore more clingy clothes ...felt more supportive. Plus Sergio just sucks and there are tons of beautiful maternity dresses as evidenced in the post above of Kerry Washington. I thought Marquis was a goner. His model was so cute but that dress was not good.

I’ve been slowly drifting from the Bravo universe. Below Deck used to be must see for me. I quit watching the last two episodes of this season. In fact, I may just tune in only for Top Chef and Project Runway. The Bruh’s seemed to have orchestrated a game plan to deflect everything towards Kate/Captain Lee. Ashton’s questioning of Captain Lee’s professionalism was really messed up. I can’t imagine any of this cast coming back besides Captain Lee, but I’d be curious to tune in if Kelly came back and maybe another old stew such as Amy.
-
I can’t stand Sergio, but I did like his dress. Geoffrey’s dress was gorgeous. I loved the orange accent. If this was truly based on what was shown that day, then Victoria would’ve been a goner. Alas, this is clearly not the case.

Who Will Stop Watching?
AttackTurtle replied to sunshine23's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I'm out. I think this show, more than any of the others, plays out so much in the media before it ever airs, that its nearly impossible to be fresh. Not to mention that none of them seem to have actual lives that exist outside of maintaining their status on the show …..If they do, then they are singled out by the pack. The first two or three seasons were great, but it become unwatchable for me.- 164 replies

The primary even mentioned on WWHL that she was not aware of the events that had transpired prior to their arrival which may have affected Kate's behavior. Even Simone acknowledged on WWHL that the show fairly depicted the divide between the men and woman on the crew and that it was as bad as was shown; however I was not at all surprised to see Simone sitting there with the guys on WWHL. Brian has somewhat expressed regret on Twitter about the things that went down. I cannot stand Kevin at all. I'm not blind towards Kate's behavior, but I think that the woman were treated horribly this season and there is no justification for any of it.

Real Housewives in the Media
AttackTurtle replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I’m down to only really watching Dallas and New York. If it turns out that Emily was asked back full time while Tamara and Vicki were not, I will be beyond happy and may just tune in for this fact alone. -

That house is what finally turned me off of Meghan for good. Just a few months after the cheating scandal, she could not wait to show the house, complete with "bowling alley" off on Instagram. I think it was just a matter of days later that the marriage finally imploded.
