  1. I had to watch the episode just for this...-) And Joe told her she was "uningredient savvy"...wtf
  2. I agree it was time for Manny to go, but I've been craving Pozole every since he made it on the first(?) episode. I was glad the guest judge made a comment about it after he was eliminated.
  3. It was Giada DeLaurentiis. She used to be a big deal on The Food Network. Back in the TWOP days, she was known as LBH (little big head). I think this season was more boring than the last. Back in the day, the back stories were things like prison chef, former accountant, waffle house cook, nanny, and people with varying degrees of anger management issues. Lots of fun back then.
  4. In previous seasons, GR didn't pick the protein for them. There were times when a team almost had to go vegetarian.
  5. I've watched each season of HK multiple times and this season is just boring. There's no real villain, just a couple of smart asses. Last season was the same and most of the chefs are decent cooks, unlike past competitions when you had to wonder if they could even boil water. It's just become boring. I'm off to watch somemore of season 9. Maybe Elise gets booted tonight...-)
  6. The Amazing Left Eyebrow Arch! Never change, Phil.
  7. Almost exactly how I reacted.
  8. Is Jennifer the "lifestyle blogger"? What does that even mean? Never mind, I don't want to know. I want Reagan out before her glasses take over her whole face. She cooked outside last week with them sitting on top if her head, but this week she had different ones for each challenge. I'm now rooting for Kolby. He's from around here, so that's as good a reason as any.
  9. But Graham (of all people) said it was "pear shaped".
  10. Chef Arrington: "That dish was heavily underseasoned." Something I would expect Blaise to say.
  11. I've watched all 19 seasons of TC and my favorite moment of all was when she beat Richard Blais. Hope she wins it all on TOC.
  12. I've been watching previous seasons of HK....imagine if Tara had to contend with Elise or Kimmie or Tiffany....
  13. I was rooting for Derrick, mostly because he discovered shirts with sleeves. I'm REALLY glad Willie and his dozens of eyeglasses are gone.
  14. If only he would shut his mouth when eating.
  15. Joe: "identically the same" "unedible" Don't ever change, Joe. You make this show a grammatically incorrect goldmine. Why bother to discuss the bottom three? I hope Gabriel gets his act together.
  16. I always thought it's very classy of TC to cook for the finalists.
  17. "unctuous" comes to mind.
  18. Well, that was interesting. Flashbacks were fun. Joe never changes. While he was commenting on Amanda's cake, I swear he said it was "vocative". Had to replay it to be sure. Shanika hasn't changed much, either...(((
  19. You might be thinking about Harvey or Ike before that. My first experience with a hurricane was Carla in 1961...I was 10 years old...) I was on the fence between Buddha and Evelyn, but now totally Evelyn. Food looks great, sweet with her Dad, and my hometown.
  20. Between 6,000 and 12,000 people were lost. The book, Isaac's Storm, is a fascinating account of the deadliest hurricane in history.
  21. I've lived here all my life and I'm a news junkie. Women of Texas are not under legislative attack. This sounds more like a narrative that started with Padma's rant at that march in Houston before they started filming. More importantly, I'm rooting for home town girl, Evelyn.
  22. You have to make listening to Aaron a drinking game....like whenever he says unctuous with no context to what he's judging.....DRINK
  23. She and Grayson are definitely the most smug. Maclain gets the award for silliest designated outfit. And how long before Ramsey refers to Freddy as "big boy"? At least on this show they refer to these kids as home cooks as opposed to another kids cooking show that calls them chefs. And that show has insufferable parents as well as smug kids.
  24. If you like cooking shows with competition, try Top Chef. Very accomplished chefs with acclaimed judges.....assuming Blais has worn out his welcome there. The new season starts 3-3.
