  1. I fail to see how Mike was being a hypocrite when he was mad at Rachel for kissing another guy. Yes, he has done bad, hell even reprehensible things in the past ( who hasn't on this show full of gray characters?). Hell, I'd even call his attitude towards the law firm and the way it handles its cases is hypocritical at times. But since he has been in a relationship with Rachel, he hasn't done any of these things to her. I'd even go so far as to say that she had no reason to even tell him about the kiss other then to make herself feel better. So she deserved exactly what she got. Admittedly, that last thing he told her was stupid, but it is what it is. It is getting tiring watching Louis get crapped on by doing things for people who don't appreciate him. Hopefully, the firm comes together to have his back as opposed to turning this into another reason to crap on Louis for being a screw-up. Off topic, Eric Roberts is way too good at playing slimy to not have his own show by now.
  2. The only reason Tywin confronted him was because Tyrion made it obvious that he wasn't having sex with her. The show has demonstrated Tyrion's need to protect Sansa (admittedly, in season two it was more about her value as a hostage but sometime in season 3, it definitely evolved), often to his own detriment. Yes, he did want his father's approval more then anything else in the world and he was willing to do a lot of stuff to do it but he definitely drew the line at raping Sansa and he wasn't even going to pretend that he was going to do something so heinous. If that was the case, then, he would've just married her off to Lancel and call it a day. There is no way the "impregnate Sansa and create Winterfell heirs" plan would've worked without Tyrion's participation.
  3. At that point, Tyrion was in no way a rival to anybody. Until he proved himself as Hand of the King, everybody just saw him as a drunken whore-mongering screw-up When a man tells you that he wants to bang your wife at your first meeting that should be a dead giveaway not to trust him. Little finger wants the iron throne more then anything else. If keeping Ned alive would've helped him then he would've made sure that Ned lived.
  4. We've also had two episodes where a student jumped on a teacher's back. In one of the episodes, Corey goes so far as to shake Maya's hand for doing so. I think the problem with the show is it leans too heavily on Corey when it's not his story. Another problem with the over-usage of Corey is that it makes Topanga's use seem meager. I'd say that Corey's use should be about where Topanga's is. That's about where Amy and Allen was for the first season. We definitely need more adults. Especially older female role models for Riley. Riley needs same sex role models to go to. On the first season of Boy Meets World, Corey had Feeny, Eric and Allan, Riley has Topanga. That being said, it is a well casted show (Maya being the standout of the new people) and the writers know their characters.
  5. I see what people are saying about how the lack of Jamie in future seasons going forward would suck. It was just a theory. It just seems to me that Jamie's story is finished, we know about his true motives for killing the mad king, his sister has officially chosen him, he saved his brother's life, he sent off Brienne to save the Stark girls. I know it's different in the book, but on the show, there's nothing left for him. Maester pycelle gets killed by Varys in the book as well around the same time as Kevan so they couldn't replace Kevan with him even if they wanted to. However, I am interested to see how Pycelle is written next season. Now that there's nobody around to keep him in check, he should be a fairly powerful character.
  6. I'd argue that none of these were based on love. Lady just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when Joffrey was eliminated. Robb was arrogant enough to believe that he was going to be able to break his word to an ally and not apologize until he needed help from said ally. Shae's stupidity got her killed. She had numerous chances to escape yet she wouldn't do so. Joffrey's cruelness got him killed. Well that and Littlefinger's desire for the throne. Tywin's hatred of Tyrion got him killed. Jojen sacrificed himself for the greater good. Renly got killed by magic. Ned's inflexibility got him killed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me throw a question out there. With the new cast reveal , does anybody else think that Jamie will continue the trend of taking over things that Kevan did in the book? That would definitely make for a sad season finale. But it would be an interesting way to go with the character.
  7. I'll give this show one more chance. After that, I'm done. The pacing is all over the place, Cory as a teacher needs to gain more control over his class. It bugs me there's no consequences for these kids when they act up. Also the show needs it's own identity. Maya's an interesting enough character but if I have to hear one more time that she's a tortured soul with a bad home life... This episode would've been a lot better if they would've concentrated more on either Maya's school issues or Cory's issues with Riley growing up. Not enough time to give both issues the attention they deserve. Let's end with something positive. I liked seeing Topanga finally get some alone scenes with her daughter.
  8. I always amuse my self by wondering what would happen if the Tullys were aligned with the lannisters and Edmure was the archer assigned to shoot the fire arrow at the wild fire. Silly I know but the image still makes me laugh.
  9. you expect Sansa to sleep in a bed filled with blood and sperm? They never lied about taking her maidenhood because Tyrion's not a punk who would have to hide behind such a ruse. He was drawing a line in the sand against his father. I don't remember Tywin ever threatening to do such a thing and even if he did, he's too proud of a man to let a baby that wasn't his use his name and wear his crest. Joffrey made that remark to bully Sansa, I doubt he was serious.
  10. As of right now, Bran really has nothing to do but fill in the relevant backstory that will propel the story into it's final two seasons ( Maggie , Jon's parents, etc). That and the fact that Sean Bean is actually acknowledging the theory. I don't think the show would be cool with that if the reveal wasn't happening somewhere in the next season. I don't see this show going past a solid seven seasons. Other then the obvious aging problems of the young adult actors. It doesn't seem feasible to expect the cast wants to put their careers on hold for another year when they were given a firm number. They might do a prequel spinoff with a brand new cast. But this story is likely done four years from now.
  11. If queen Cersei who at her lowest rank was the princess of Casterly Rock had to learn to curtsy then I can't imagine anybody who wouldn't have to learn. There's too many social functions that a highborn would have to attend where that wouldn't be a useful skill to have.
  12. Maybe in Casterly Rock. Cersei's still the kings regent and Jamie's still the kingsguard. If anything I'd say people in the know would be less likely to piss Cersei off since she now has nobody around to stop her. Shae lost her virginity at nine thanks to her mother, and doesn't know how to curtsy. I seriously doubt that Shae's highborn or that her parents even care about her. The theme of this episode seemed to be new beginnings. For the first time, both Tyrion and Arya are off on their own Stannis has abandoned his pursuit of the throne to take care of the White Walker problem and for the first time since season 2 Dany doesn't have her dragons to protect her. Yea she has her army but it's just not the same without the dragons.
  13. Strangely enough, the one thing I thought, when, he was interacting with his nephew at the wedding, was that he needed to STFU he was just making things worse. Which is the feeling I think they were going for. I think the purple wedding was brilliant in the storylines it set up. Cersei desperately attempting to regain the power that she is losing over the two most important men in her life thanks to Brienne and Margaery. Tyrion's inability to keep his mouth shut even when it would behoove him to do so. A king that was so power hungry that he was willing to humiliate his allies for his own amusement ( I especially like the change where in the show, the m***** show was Joffrey's idea). Some more bonding between Sansa and Tyrion as the wedding cements that as highborn outcasts, they're all each other's got in Kings Landing. Finally, as he's poisoned I saw a lost kid swallowed up by a game that he had no business playing. While Tyrion wasn't a standout character in season 4, that was by design since he spent the majority of the season in jail. I found it more problematic that Jon didn't have more of a standout season given all the things that he got to do this season. That's just a nitpick on my part. My only real problem with this season was that the reveal that Littlefinger was the man responsible for killing Jon Arryan was downplayed so much, that, It felt like a throwaway line when Lysa said it.
  14. I think Tyrion not being on the throne yet is basically a case of delayed gratification. I assume she would (probably not as regent though) since that scene of her with Tommen on the throne at the end of Blackwater screamed foreshadowing as to Tommen's fate.
  15. I don't think it would be that hard for a soldier like Selmy to track a woman with a dothraki army and dragons. That's a pretty interesting theory and one I'm not outright dismissing. However there are a few things that nag at me: a) Varys seemed to be the person that was working the hardest to convince Ned that Dany needed to be killed. Maybe that was a cover. However: b) The kill order had to go through Varys since he was the only person with connections to that part of the world. Why wouldn't he just not give the order and say that the assassination attempt failed? c) Finally, the question that keeps coming back to me is why would he repeatedly warn everybody? I get Robert because he was the king, and even Tywin who was also a pretty powerful man, but why Tyrion? As awesome as he was as the hand of the king, at that point in the story, nobody of importance was taking Tyrion seriously. To me it just came across as Varys was trying to get somebody to take this threat seriously. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like the change from the book of having Varys being a willing participant in Tyrion's escape and bringing him along for Tyrion's journey. That will likely give a laser like focus to the story and get rid of all the whorehouse stuff. I do wonder if Varys will lead Tyrion to Jorah or if they just happen to run into him by mistake.
  16. I found it silly that Riley thought that Corey would ban her from seeing Maya especially given who his best friend it. I also thought they were a bit annoying trying to establish that Maya's a bad girl. In Boy meets World, we didn't need to be told that Sean was bad, we just knew it due to his actions. It weakens the character when you have to keep telling me that she's so bad. It really annoyed me that they stepped on their own dramatic moment of Maya going too far and possibly having to face the consequences of her action because they had to show Farkle Shenanigans. Finally, they really need to give Riley some older female role models. In season 1 of Boy Meets World, Corey had Eric, Alan and Feeney, Riley has Topanga. That being said, I didn't hate the show. It was a decent enough time waster, Riley's likeable enough and it was a nice bit of nostalgia. They just need to work a bit harder separating this show from it's predecessor.
  17. I doubt it since Varys wanted to assasinate her in season one and even gave Jorah the order. There's also the fact that Varys has been warning everybody who listens against Dany and her dragons. They'd have a lot of explaining to do. I wonder if Tyrion will be with Varys when they run into Jorah and at what point Varys heads back. If Tywin wasn't such a megalomaniac, he would have known that family or no family, there were certain lines that his kids wouldn't cross ( Jamie not breaking his vows, Cersei not leaving her kids, Tyrion not raping a little girl). The fact that he whiffed on all three kids is just tragic.
  18. I saw it in a different way. We know Margery at least thought he was capable, Jamie appeared to be in doubt about Tyrion's guilt until he talked to Tyrion. I also have a hard time believing that Tywin would want regicide attached to his name unless he thought that it might be true. I think that the downfall of the Tyrells is going to be tied to the purple wedding ( it's always bad to make emotional decisions on this show) for the following reasons: a) Even under the best circumstances, they're removing the two people that the Lannisters hated. With Tyrion and Sansa gone, who else were the Lannisters going to turn their hatred on? b) Show Margery at least had some control over Joffrey and while she might not have been able to control all of his insanity, I do believe that she would've been able to at least keep him tolerable. Joffrey was a loose cannon that was willing to turn on his family if they didn't recognize his power. It wouldn't have been a bad thing to have him in the Tyrell back pocket. Tommen on the other hand, is much more susceptible to his family's suggestions. c) At best, you put Dorne one step away from the iron throne meaning the Tyrells get shutout. At worst, you cause another war over the throne. Which benefits nobody at King's landing.
