  1. Or iris, or Felicity the second time, or Caitlin, or Cisco, or that Robin dude from Arrow.
  2. Prism induced or not, Flash took something that Iris told him and used it as justification to hurt someone that she loves. I don't see any other way that she could've reacted. It would be one thing if it was just words. So you think her dad who doesn't want her to know about other meta-humans is going to talk about the prism with her nearby?  It's a fair point to throw her concern in her face by bringing up her dead fiancée? I agree that she can be overbearing at times, but that was crossing a line. The fact that the show didn't address this after the fact with an apology from Barry or some similar acknowledgement is troubling. The show this week was alright, but it seemed to put most of the stuff on hold just to hype up the fight. I mean they did advance the proper storylines but at the same time, the main storyline felt incomplete. I will give the show points for the firestorm call out. ( You think Felicity's clothes got burned off just because the producer wanted to see her in a bra?} I will NOT accept a Firestorm who's a bad guy. Even a morally gray one won't sit right, actually. I have a feeling if anything, that Firestorm would be CW's next spinoff in a couple of years since as currently written he seems to be a combination of Barry and Oliver.
  3. First time Arrow watcher, not a bad show. While the first half of the crossover definitely had more wow moments, I felt this was a better show all around since the story was more cohesive. As opposed to the first half, it actually felt like Flash was needed needed by Arrow and the gang. I was a bit disappointed not to get that much of the infamousl Laurel, I've heard so much about her that I wanted to se her in action. The addition of Flash seemed to sideline Arrow's sidekick, I'll call him Robin. He was just limited to exposition guy. Diggle didn't fare much better but at least he had the wife storyline ( while we're at it, I'm a bit annoyed that Arrow recurring characters know of Flash's identity but not his bff but that's for the other board). But I could be wrong about the structure since I don't know how the characters are normally used. I also had a problem with all the philosophizing. I got it the first time that the shows were different, there was no need to beat a dead horse. To add to the discussion of Barry's supposed suffering in comparison to Oliver's. While I do agree that the stuff that happened to Barry is not even on the same planet as the stuff that happened to Oliver, it is comparable. However, all of Barry's stuff happened to him at a fairly young age, with numerous people calling him either delusional , a liar, or worse. Regardless,I still think his point stood, don't use the tragedies in your life to justify torture because you're not the only one that suffered. On a final note, if I was on a train and some superhero a-hole spirited me away from a train making me late, I'd be so pissed.
  4. Time to get controversial. If anything, I'd be on the brotherhood's side. For all this stuff about Elias is better for the criminal underworld, there's still the fact that Elias is just as if not more ruthless. Lest we forget, this is a guy who was willing to kill a baby. I haven't seen the brotherhood do anything even remotely as bad as that. Brotherhood might be dangerous but team machine has repeatedly attacked them with little to no response from Dominic. Also, by saving Elias team Machine just started a blood bath that likely didn't have to happen. But yea, at least Elias is around to give gotham a better class of criminal. A punk who would've been taken out if not for help from team machine. Dominique has repeatedly had Elias where he wanted him but was thwarted by unforeseen circumstances. Who would expect a machine to start interfering with their plans? If team machine was helping the people that Elias killed then Elias wouldn't have been on top in the first place. If the number two turns, I doubt he'd go to the good side or Elias's side, his betrayal would likely result in Dominique being overthrown. However, I see the storyline culminating his attempt failing and there being a new number two promoted in his place. I don't feel as if Team Machine is cornered at all. I mean yea Dominique knows of their existence but he's still otherwise occupied and besides he has yet to have gotten any results against these guys. Samaritan might be finally covering it's blind spots, but we just saw it get fooled by a motorcycle going into a truck. I'm not impressed with it's capabilities.

    Caitlin Snow

If she's supposed to be eye candy, I doubt that they'd dress her down so much. I think she's supposed to be the serious counterpoint to Cisco's fan-boy enthusiasm in the lab. If she wasn't around, Cisco would get old, fast, imo.
  6. Another day, another loss for the Brotherhood. How am I supposed to take them seriously when they fail every step of the way. I mean yea Dominic's a competent enough foil, but he's getting no results. Even the lame assed HR got a win on team machine every once in a while. I swear to god if Dominic winds up becoming a number that has to be saved from Elias... Reese is starting to turn into superman which is beginning to get old. Good luck keeping Shaw in that subway. No way will she allow herself to be cooped up for much longer. Fusco needs something to do other then being the comedy relief every week. Finally, why in the hell doesn't the old man show his operatives photos of all of team machine? It's not that hard to figure out that wherever Shaw is, the rest of the team can't be far behind. '
  7. This was a joke by Arnell talking about how Flash doesn't really keep his identity a secret, he wasn't serious about it. I liked this episode. While I do agree that killing off Girder redeemed him, it was a cop out. Barry screwed up and that let him off the hook. I don't mind it, but it's kind of noticeable. I have to agree that the way that Blackout was defeated was letdown. Being stronger because you believe is a power better left to the care bears. I don't mind them hooking up Caitlin and Barry. You got to figure that since they're end game, that Iris and Barry won't be hooking up anytime soon ( I'd be shocked if something happened this season), and character-wise he needs a girlfriend so that he can mature romantically and thereby insure that he and Iris can make it in the long run. My only problem with it is that I wish that they just bought another female in. I actually liked that Snow was a competent female who could hang with the guys. Wells storyline is interesting. However with that stinger, I'm pretty sure that Wells is a villain. With Eddie in the hospital and Wells walking around with a syringe full of Blackout/Flash blood , I believe that we are witnessing the creation of reverse flash. The bank story successfully gave the other main characters something to do. I love the way Candace played that hostage scene with Joe. I like that as opposed to assuring her father that everything was going to be alright, that she cried out for him to save her which makes sense given his overprotectiveness. Did Iris go the "Reese school of shooting the bad guy in the knees?" Finally, I have to say that I like the way that the show is developing Iris and Flash. This show is developing a secret world between Iris and Flash/Barry which should go a long way towards establishing them as end game. The biggest mistake most shows make in establishing these romances is putting two pretty people together and hoping that the audience just buys it, Flash does a good job giving these two something in common.
  8. So Tony the meathead after making Flash run away like a "little girl" decided to look him up on the internet that he didn't have access to as opposed to going back to his cave and drinking beers in celebration? Even if I believed that, what search parameters did he use because up until she came out with the Flash nickname, Iris's blog wasn't even popular enough to garner 1,000 followers. I get what they were going for but this seems contrived way to do it. Eddie wouldn't have to know Joe had the files all he'd have to know is that Joe is investigating the case and since Joe was smart enough to watch that interrogation tape in the middle of the precinct with headphones on thus making it easy for him to be snuck up on, it wouldn't be too hard for Eddie to see what he was up to. He goes to Joe's house at the first available opportunity to see what he has so far and reacts accordingly. The sibling argument is interesting. On one hand, you have the Brother-sister argument, on the other hand the question is how does their growing up together in the same house differ from their growing up in the same neighborhood. I actually have to think about it more, but for now, I err on the side that they're really good friends who just happened to partake in an extended sleepover. Finally, something else occurred to. All this hubbub about the supersonic punch and all it did was knock Girder on his ass, if Iris wasn't there to deliver the knockout punch, it would've been curtains for Barry. As for those who wonder why Iris was able to hit him and not Barry, Iris was in his blind spot and was able to hit him before he thought to get his armor up.
  9. I get why the show does this. But am I really supposed to believe that Iris is such a good writer that she submits first drafts to her blog and they come out top quality. I'm onto you Iris.
  10. Cat's a survivor, she's not good, she's not bad. The only reason why she's coming forward with knowledge of the Wayne murders is because it helps keep her out of jail. As for Bruce, I can't imagine that he's that far outside of the law when the commissioner has his calling card. I have a feeling that whatever she stole from Bruce in that previous episode is going to come back to bite her in the rear end.  If she was trying to do that she could've just said in the letter that she was going back to Montoya. I seriously just think that seeing Jim in action makes Barbara think less of herself which is why she goes back to the person who lies to her, and practices unsavory techniques on her job.
  11. I believe the machine has as much access to the cameras as Samaritan does. She should definitely know about Shaw. But since Root is shown saving or at least fighting with Shaw it's probably safe to assume that's the machines doing. I do think they will be successful in defending Elias this time around but I can't see Elias being around for too much longer. Since the show killed off Carter, it successfully established an environment where anybody could die. If the writers refuse to kill off characters based on how much they're liked then the writers are essentially destroying the environment they worked so hard to create and Carter's death becomes meaningless. Not to mention, Elias gives them a certain level of comfort that needs to be taken away. Then again who's to say that Elias isn't the perpetrator? He's not exactly a wilting violet.
  12.  True, but on the show she was wearing regular clothes so that exemption shouldn't have applied.
  13. In this week's issue of what have they done with Iris, I have nothing. This is pretty much what they should have been doing from the start. This is the first episode when I saw why they were friends.I especially appreciated the fact that "The Flash" is a Barry and Iris name as opposed to Cisco. I especially love that she didn't wilt in the face danger and even landed the knock out blow ( That's got to be embarrassing as hell getting knocked out by a smallish girl.} That being said, calling out Flash on the blog like that? That was pretty dumb. Establish an email or something. Also Iris being in danger because that ape read her blog? Yea right. Like someone like that would bother reading blogs. I know they're trying to establish the blog was dangerous, but come up with something more believable. The b story with Joe and Wells worked well. I loved the twist that started with Joe needed the Dr's help to Joe investigating the DR to Joe genuinely needing the Dr's help at the end. Of course, Joe probably shouldn't have been so sloppy and ironically, he's the main person putting Iris's life in the most danger but it works for his character. I get telegraphing your villains, but holy crap. Did they make it anymore obvious that Eddie's a bad guy. Even if we ignored the comic book name, he pretty much lines up perfectly with most comic book villains. Bullied as a child? check. Misunderstood rich/politician kid? check. Bonds with the hero? check. Starts off as a good guy that's loved by everybody? check. Dating the girl that the hero wants? check. I'm liking that they show a new power each week. I wonder how long they'll be able to keep that up. I do question how Barry didn't recognize the bully when Iris and recognized him and the bully recognized him and Iris. It strikes me as peculiar. If Iris winds up falling in love with the Flash, it's Barry's fault since he insists upon flirting with and visiting her in costume. But yea, at this point he's easily my favorite comic book tv hero. Hopefully they give Caitlin more then just being the naysayer because that'll get old really fast.
  14. All this talk about streaking and nobody's asked why isn't plastique walking around naked? Unless she's been wearing the same clothes since she's first got her powers which ew.
  15. Has person of interest always been this over the top in terms of getting certain points across? They could have easily shaved off five minutes of the team finding out about Dominic without losing anything. Repetition was not needed in that scene( I write as I do the same thing I just accused the show of doing). That being said, good job finally creating an enemy for Shaw. And while we're at it don't end the show on a cliffhanger showing Shaw about to be assassinated and then show her surviving said assassination in the previews. I mean yea, it's obvious that she wasn't going to die but still let there be room for doubt. I really like the Brotherhood, but seriously, they need a win in the worse way. Even Vigilance got wins against team machine from time to time. If Elias survives next week, I'm just not going to take these guys seriously anymore. I mean they're good and nihilistic and admittedly that scene when Dominic talked the second in command into shooting his boss was pretty cool, but still, I need results. Maybe it's just me, but this show seems to get boring when Finch isn't front and center. I just can't get into the other characters trying to outcool/wisecrack one another anymore.
  16. In Barbara's defense, she has no idea that Montoya and Bruce are working together. As far as she knows Montoya's still trying to screw over Bruce. Come to think of it, that makes it worst. Defense failed. Are there no women writers out there? How can comic book shows be so problematic in creating realistic non-hateable women? Also why was that a stinger? Literally nobody was surprised by that scene since you've been telegraphing it since the first show. But yay lesbian scene? I'm already over Penguin being so many steps ahead of everybody. I get that you need to establish how he became the penguin but at least make it challenging for him. Also, I have no idea how Fish rose this high in the organization when she's so damned sloppy. If I didn't know better I'd think that she wants to be caught. Two face's introduction, eh whatever. You made him look like a naïve goofball with anger control issues. Was that what the writers were going for? Finally, the cat-bat scenes were seriously trying way too hard. Bruce is so stuffy that he swims with a suit on and Cat is a street kid that's so ashamed of her past that she lies about it. If you were to add in a curmudgeonly wisecracking older person you'd... nvm. The series is watchable but I wouldn't be too mad if I missed a few episodes.
  17. Not only that, but I was also wondering why the hell was Joe tripping over Iris dating a cop but not over Iris dating The Flash? That's pretty much the most dangerous thing that she could do. Another thing that bothers me is the blog somehow putting Iris in danger. If you think about such a situation it comes off as a bit absurd.: Evil mastermind: OOOOO that Blur pisses me off if only I knew a way to get him. Henchman: Yea boss, there's this blog about the Blur, the author obviously has to know him. Evil Mastermind: How? Are there pictures, interviews, or any other type of special knowledge contained within this blog? Henchman: Well, no. There's pretty much just news like you can find in any newspaper but she signed her name so she obviously has to be connected to the Flash. Evil Mastermind: You're right! Let's kill this Iris West! BWAHAHAHA I think Plastique has to remain dead. If people start coming back to life then you run into the "Captain America" problem of nobody really dying and therefore robbing the emotional toll that deaths of characters close to Flash should have because in the back of the audience's mind there's always a chance that person could be alive. Not a good thing for a show to do.
  18. I don't think Harold was naïve at all. He did go along with the plan. But his point still stands that they just robbed under privileged kids of what was essentially a tool to help them improve themselves in life. It can be argued that Samaritan can later access the computers but Samaritan can access computers anywhere in schools etc, so at worse they only inconvenienced the machine. Ultimately, this is what I love about Finch and what separates him from everybody else. Whereas the rest of the team sees results, Finch considers and often lives with the consequences of these actions. He's pretty much been the heart of the show from day one. It's why the team is so loyal to him. I am worried about Finch though. This is the third case in a row that Finch has pulled double duty. Hopefully it's just me being paranoid but that doesn't sound good for his longevity. As for the case of the week, it was alright but the reveal at the end with certain team members getting caught by Samaritan is definitely an interesting development for the future.
  19. This is the first time I'm not complaining about results. As America we had two chances to get who we wanted through on each team. If our favs didn't get through, we only had ourselves to blame. Personally, I feel that Sugar was easily the weakest in the team sing along, while I'm shocked that he fought so hard for Eliyuh just to let him go at this juncture of the competition. But I get why Pharell picked her. Gwen couldn't win with whoever was left because the other three pretty much blended together into grayness. I'm shocked at Blake's pick because he really doesn't like advancing his steals and the other two are closer to his genre. But it was a smart, strategic pick. Adam couldn't lose with his pick.. I would've liked to have seen what Taylor can do, it would've been interesting watching Mia blossom on stage but, I feel that Chris has more potential to do damage. I'm not sure who I'm rooting for. I'll need a few days to process the final twelve. Sadly, there's nobody that really excites me so far. Hopefully that changes as the competition progresses and we get more standout performances. On an interesting side note it's interesting that three people associated with Gwen at some juncture were coach's picks.
  20. Ryan- This was the definition of generic. Jean- This was just a hot mess. One of those performances that makes you wonder how the hell did she make it this far. Also, judges, we got it, she's too dramatic. Move on. Eliyuh- Shocked the hell out of me. That song did him no favors but he still did a great job. Though lol @ his being the one to beat on Pharrell's team. That was definitely a bit of games man ship, Bryana- I didn't hate the performance but at the same time, it seems like she's out of her depth in comparison to the other singers left. Luke- I'm shocked that they've shown him this early in the show. This song's tailor made for him. It was an alright performance. He did make the song his own. I feel that we can see more from him but it should easily get him into the next round. Anita- This was a fun performance. Perfect song choice , Gwen. I do wish she would have stayed reggae with that song. But I still loved the performance. Danica- This is the first time she legit looked her age. She sounds a lot better when she's not trying to belt. Id put her though. Is Joni dead why did Gwen use past tense verbs to describe her? Sugar- Sugar gets the pharrell pimp spot? I didn't see that coming. Don't they normally alternate the teams? Very good performance. I'm glad that she stopped those silly growls. Ricky- Gwen's first bad song choice of the night. He did nothing with the song but with two other generic performers preceding him he could sneak into the next round. Taylor- His voice has a nice tone but eh. The pimp spot should get him through to the live shows. In conclusion. I'm not really impressed with this season. Normally there's one or two knockout performances in the playoffs. There were none here, however the favorites did separate themselves from the pretenders.
  21. I like that they found their first meta-human that wasn't a villain. They're doing a great job building the world. The friendships are being developed quite nicely ( I have no idea how people are seeing any sparks between Caitlin and Barry. They have the same relationship they'd have if Caitlin had a penis). It does seem strange that all the meta-humans have thus far been killed/ imprisoned while the human villains have gotten away. But I suppose it makes sense when you consider the experience factor. I love how protective Wells is over Flash. Maybe he has nefarious intentions but he's very persuasive. I love how his mood fluctuates on a moments notice. It'll be interesting to see what the fall out will be from his failed assassination attempt. He's easily the most intriguing character in the series. Which once again brings me to ,,, sigh... Iris. Let's start with the positive. In terms of superhero girlfriends/crushes, she's surprisingly low maintenance. I love how she stood up for herself and refused to be pressured into complying with Joe and Barry's wishes. That being said why am I supposed to root for Barry getting with Iris. If anybody put Iris in danger, it was Barry. He escalated the situation by giving her the idea to put her name on the blog Then, after learning of her intentions , he defriends her because she won't listen to him. I'm supposed to root for these two to get together? Not only do I think Iris could do better then him in terms of boyfriend material, but I also think that she could find better friends. They treat her like a kid then actually do kiddish crap to her when she won't do what they say. I was glad that she shut down her dad before he could start in on her.
  22. Misogyny accusations don't work here. Most of the hate hasn't been directed towards the actress or the character. It's been towards the writing which has her characterization steeped in gender roles. If Barry and Iris were to switch place, it would be worse for him because he'd be getting treated like a "woman." Except Iris has an interesting story of her own and they're messing it up. When they can't even get her reason for being a reporter right, it's hard to be patient to see what else they're going to do with the character.

    S01.E08: The Mask

I doubt it since that would render two major scenes ( Penguin's finding out about Fish's mole, Fish's (obviously going to fail) promise to protect her). Writers, y'all do realize that you don't have to resolve every Barbara storyline by the end of the episode right? Everybody else's story is being developed/ slowly moved along and they're just speeding through her stuff. I'm just going to assume that she has a really awesome story that the writer's just have to get to asap. Because if this is some more stupidity about extending that friggin love triangle, my head's going to explode. I definitely enjoyed the role reversal between Jim and Bullock this week. The case of the week? Not so much. It'll be interesting to see the relationship that develops between Jim and the captain as he seems too be inspiring her. The Riddler was interesting and you can even see the things that will probably lead to his turn to the dark side. Though I think he should be a bit smarter and a bit more obnoxious about his smarts . As long as they continue to develop his character, he should be fine. The Penguin-Fish storyline is fine but their war seems to be ridiculously one-sided. If Fish doesn't get a win soon, I'll probably get disinterested in the whole affair. The Bruce storyline was just sloppy. I mean yea, you got your revenge on the kid but what's to stop him from telling somebody or just suing the kid or worse yet just whipping his ass when Bruce comes to school by himself the next day? The Cat storyline is starting to get old. This show was a huge step back from last week.
  24. Taylor B- I think she got through the competition more on attitude. Sadly, this song didn't mix well with the attitude. That plus her being first pretty much guarantees that she's gone tomorrow. Chris- Adam you're supposed to be an expert at this. First song he picks and it already puts one of his best singers at a disadvantage. Chris tried to work it but there was no place for him to showcase his talent. Tomorrow will likely come down to him and Mia but I think Mia will probably get the advantage over him. Jessie- It was competently sung but I just wasn't feeling it. I wanted her to do more with it. I suspect that if she doesn't go through on votes tomorrow that she's most definitely gone. James- He's been coasting on his first performance. At some point that's going to catch up to him but unless Jessie and Regan are voted in, it won't happen this round. Matt- I can see why it's the top song, I wanted more of a performance. But I did enjoy his singing. This still doesn't answer for his earlier song choice gaffes but this time, Adam picked the perfect song. Definitely in the next round. Regan- Blake's killing it with the song choices tonight. I enjoyed the performance. She's definitely going to the next round. Taylor P- Tomorrow's going to be a Taylor slaughter. He really needs to get rid of that guitar, it's pointless the majority of the time and quite distracting. Sadly, I doubt it'll be a problem after tomorrow. It was a fine performance but it didn't stand out. Mia P- Why does Adam insist on making singers sing songs they're not comfortable with? Luckily for her Adam appears to be in love with her voice so she should be fine. Damian- Wow, Damian bought it. He shocked the hell out of me. Probably my fav performance of the night. Craig- Gwen's styling and Blake's country expertise make this guy an early frontrunner. I don't normally like country, but I liked this song.
  25. Sorry for the lateness but I just got around to watching this. I wish the coaches would stop speaking in hyperboles. Taylor vs Allison- Admittedly I came into this battle not caring who won. But while Taylor excelled at showing off a different side of herself , Allison felt fairly routine making Taylor the easy choice here. Ryan vs Beth- LOL, remember that time when Pharrell went up to Beth and for no reason whatsoever promised to steal her if given the chance but failed to do so twice? LOL, good times. Ryan easily won this because Beth doesn't seem to know what she wants to be as a singer. Menlick vs Jean- Pairing up your two steals while forcing your six other singers to compete for the other three spots. Dat loyalty. Menlick incorporated none of the advice he was given and made Pharrell's choice an easy one. That being said, Jean probably would have won even if he did. It felt a bit try hard in my opinion but her performance was one of the best of the night. A team of two castoffs from a coach who had the second worst team going into the battle round, one singer who got destroyed in the knockout rounds but was picked anyway, his third best belter, and his only real contender in Luke. Good luck with that team. Blessing vs Chris- Chris wasn't as good as he could've been and he left the door wide open for Blessing. Fortunately for him Blessing chose not to walk through that door. I think Chris could be a contender but he really needs to tweak some parts of his performance if he wants to win. One montage is bad, two montages is terrible but at the third montage it really starts to feel aggressive. You could have easily shaved off enough time from the so called playful banter to give us that knockout performance but instead you chose to give your audience and Ms. Sampson the middle finger, good job show. Somebody who got montaged in the knockouts, a singer who tends to over do it with emotions in a song, two singers who need tweaks to become contenders and what was easily the best steal of the knockouts. If Adam doesn't place at least two people in the top five, I will start questioning his coaching ability, big time. Regan vs Grant- Regan's song choice felt lazy. It was an alright performance but she's really going to have to step it up next round. Grant bombed big time and the song choice did him no favors. Anita vs Craig- Two great performances, Anita really impressed me tonight but Craig was no slouch. The new look did nothing for me but Gwen did a good coaching in a genre that she's not familiar with. I can see why Gwen picked Anita and I can also see why Blake held onto his steal. Blakes team is different genres of country surrounding his one r and b singer. It'll be interesting to see how far Regan goes. His fan base should easily carry one of his singers to the finals. Gwen's team is good. I wonder if a Reggae singer can actually win. I think Taylor is Gwen's best chance at winning. The rest of her team seems like battle round fodder/ mid round boots. She seems like she could easily be the first coach out of the competition if she's not careful.
