  1. "A buck in the truck" sign. Seriously. Speaking of Bateseseses, I caught a glimpse of Carlin (the girl who is about Joy's age - happy birthday, btw!) in the sea of volunteers. Boob doing the royal wave during the rehearsal was him in a nutshell. When ISN'T it about either him or MEchelle? Miracle proves yet again what a spoiled brat she is.
  2. Well, with the cancellation of Honey BooBoo, I've read on other boards (but can't confirm on my Comcast guide) that TLC is airing the Benessa engagement next week. Let's hope TLC airs this hot mess in a timely fashion, ie. the Roloff wedding.
  3. I bet they have the Moody books. I found an autographed copy (the 32 year old author signs her name like a child...shock) on Amazon, IIRC, and spent a couple painful hours reading it. Poorly written in passive voice (which when you read most fundie writing is a consistent issue), the book was dull, and the "adventures" were trite character lessons. Even something as mundane as cooking had a moral lesson attached to it. I needed a drink or ten after finishing.
  4. This sounds 100% David and Priscilla Waller. There is an undeniable lust component to Benessa that was absent with TFDW and Prissy. A year ago, Jessa may have been courting this guy, but she didn't seem to like him very much. I still think much of her "attraction" is nothing more than what Gothardism tells her to do, reinforced by her mother's simpering behavior. Now that she has that down, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that she's going to run roughshod all over poor Bin. He won't know what hit him, especially once he starts attending the University of Arkansas full-time next year and still needs to work full-time to support them. Lord knows that Jessa doesn't really have any marketable skills, aside from organizing to pack a stink bus and hair curling.
  5. I happened upon her resume a while back (LinkedIn, most likely) and found that Cathy left Wally World a few years ago. She now works as a consultant; I believe she is self-employed.
  6. Unless one is trapped in an abusive situation, don't most couples try counseling before calling it quits? And many couples (myself included) had pre-marital counseling that involved an actual PASTOR, not our parents! Sorry Jill, you're just not that special or superior to the rest of mankind. I alsoo loved how the article aged Boob and Mullet up a year. I guess Jerick don't care, as long as People cuts them the check.
  7. Some (idiot) bought those robes? Oh dear. I am too lazy to look; I wonder if anyone picked up that pink hairdryer for Our Blessa.
  8. Boob going on about his daughter's sex life and how Derick is looking forward to "after the wedding" made me want to hurl. No father should talk about his daughter like that. Ever.
  9. Nice job with the "big announcement," TLC. Twenty minutes into the NEXT SHOW!!!! Dumbasses. The leghumpers were pretty pissed. LOL
  10. Yup. TLC dumped the "special announcement" that Jerick brought up two weeks ago. Great PR there, Duggars. Edited because the show dumped the highly touted "big announcement" (which was the sex, as I was told it would be) 20 minutes into the NEXT SHOW. The leghumpers were furious. I'm on the west coast, so the show hasn't aired here yet (our HD - Comcast - took viewers off the east coast feed a couple of years ago), so I only know this from people who actually watched the next show and saw the thing. Booties. Big anti-climatic whoop.
  11. Other than Smuggar, who does get his own check, and Jill, if the spinoff pans out, Boob has to be content to tomato-stake his adult children by giving them "gifts" that he actually still owns. The Stoneybrook house is in the Duggar Trust, the plane is property of Duggar Aviation, LLC). Jessa will likewise be given a property to live in, for as long as she continues to toe the line (I'm still thinking Smuggle's house, which is technically Grandma's). Jana and Josiah appear to be bought off far cheaper; Journeys to the Heart (Josiah is doing a Prison Ministry version right now), and of course, about nine months at ALERT this year. Smuggles got a car lot, JD a towing company. Joe and Jinger appear to be most compliant; it's not evident what Boob has shelled out to keep them in line for purposes of the Show. Given that Boob is raking in about $2MM/yr. from the show alone, aside from the plane, buying off his kids with stuff he already had has been relatively cheap. Pity that aside from Smuggles, they'll never have anything of their own until the show goes off the air. Boob is so keeping everyone nearby to keep the show going for as long as possible. For that kind of money that you don't have to share (except with Josh segment episodes), wouldn't you?
  12. Bin's family had a shower for THEM (not just a bridal shower) today. Pics on Seewald family members' facebook pages. Oh, a good sleuth also confirmed that Bin moved out on APRIL 29th. Jessica Seewald's comments on her FB page are the clincher. So, what we saw on the show was totally re-enacted about two weeks later, around Mother's Day and graduation time: Jennifer Hartono graduated from PCC and the Duggars hosted her family from Indonesia during their time in the States. Nice work, Show. I knew the timeline was off, but now we have pics of farewell parties to confirm the lies.
  13. I know someone who knows someone at TLC and yes, they are in talks for a spinoff, but it doesn't sound as if that's been finalized (or they're keeping it close to the vest and will announce it with the gender on Tuesday). Just NO! The Dullards are as interesting as watching paint dry. Plus there's that pesky work stuff that Derick has to do, severely limiting how much he can be filmed. There just isn't any there, there.
  14. Nope. It's confirmed that gender will be the "Special Announcement" during next week's TLC episode.
  15. He claims no sex, or even kissing/touching. However, over 30 women have something different to say, at least to inappropriate touching, and a couple claim he kissed them. If he had sex, his partner(s) is/are very quiet...or dead.
  16. GEML touched on the timeframe of great growth (late 60's/early 70's), but I wanted to add that Gothardism came about as a conservative response to the Hippies. The control issues with children become really obvious when put in that context; Gothard was obviously very anti counter-culture and setting up legalistic rule for parents made them less fearful of "losing" their children. So yeah, he capitalized on paranoia and as a result, became a very wealthy pervert....err....man. (clarity edit, although I think we all know who "he" is) :D
  17. Don't worry, the Duggar girls (including Anna) were all over fucking Instagram the day of the nail party, hashtag Jamberry. I remember it so vividly because it ruined my birthday on social media, two days before the wedding. I can't believe there's going to be ANOTHER week of this, but they HAD to drag the finale out to Sweeps. Ugh.
  18. Nothing of import to say other than I had the username first! LOL
  19. She could have made both her bridal and baby registries PRIVATE. The fact that she didn't plays right into the theory that this is a public event. Jill went straight to People with the most recent baby bump pics; they were posted to coincide with the episode. She certainly uses the same PR person that her parents do for promotion; these pics always show up on Episode Day. So yeah, she is selling her pregnancy to People and probably cashing a check from TLC as well. I think that qualifies as "whoring out" both the wedding (when she got paid to hashtag various companies that contributed to her day, including Jamberry for crying out loud!) as well as the Baby Dilly pregnancy.
  20. Remember "Waiting for Prince Charming?" I think that's pretty damning proof about how these girls (and girls amongst all the Patriarchy cults) are bred to think. I read the book, and I deserve a medal. It was a painful metaphor for stay at home daughters to remind them to find a "ministry" to keep themselves busy rather than obsessing over boys. Jessa only has "organization" to brag about. Hey, I am a logistical freak, but unless she gets that family on REGULAR time, she doesn't have a "ministry." The show tried to portray her as a baby photographer, but Jinger seems to have taken that niche for their family; Jinger may have been up all night the previous evening with another delivery. OR Mr. Show wanted to portray Jessa as being productive at...ANYTHING aside from troweling on makeup or barrel-rolling her locks.
  21. I think they're totally programmed to LIVE FOR THE WEDDING. Seriously, marriage is a female Gothardite's goal in life. I think Jill even said something to the effect that she'd been planning her wedding since she was a little girl. I can't imagine Jessa or now even Hannie, who is being slowly brainwashed out of her tomboy stage, think any differently. So in that context, Jill totally upstaged Jessa. Twice in the past 6 weeks since the engagement.
  22. Boob talks all the time about how "competitive" the Duggars are. I don't recall the timing of Jill's announcement coming right after one of Mike Seewald's (weekly) rants, but it did steal thunder from Jessa. The registry? Even moreso. These girls may not have been raised like other girls in GirlWorld, but they sure are devious and underhanded. I think that they aren't as close to one another as they'd like their audience to believe. Especially Jessa and Jill. I've never observed them as being close, other than during the book tour, when Jessa was pushed up front because she was courting with Jill, who was always the girls' "spokesperson." (But of course now we find out she too was courting.) At any rate, during the book tour those two took center stage, with Jinger/Jana receding into the background. That said, Jill still managed to talk over...well, everyone. I can't stand Jessa, but if I was her, I'd be pretty pissed off right about now.
  23. Don't forget, Mike Seewald's first blog post (Marrying Young) appeared about four days before the Public found out Benessa were engaged. Timing? More than a tad suspicious. I think Seewald is there to parrot Duggar views that they really can't say out loud. GEML, who is this "we" you refer to? Fundies? Evangelicals? Mainstream Christians? Just wondering why you made that inclusive.
  24. No, because the shirts have been seen on the show before, in their full, obnoxious glory. As recently as LAST WEEK! This is totally in response to the Jessa/Mike Seewald furor, especially given the backlash Jessa got on FB; Mike Seewald has not let many, many posts pass moderation. And for any of the leghumpers screaming, "Persekushun!!!!!11111" someone should ask them what Smuggar does for a living, since TLC decided from day one that they weren't touching his employment with the FRC, much like they don't touch their political rallies.
  25. JD is a town constable, which I believe was an elected position. I remember Smuggar posting a pic to instagram when they found a judge to swear him in at exactly midnight on New Year's Day a couple of years ago. So no, not a real cop, but Tonitown is small, so I bet he likely knows the entire force.
