Benessa's Amazon registry. If anyone questioned their motives before, what with the expansion yesterday of the BBB registry to include expensive furniture, including a CHAISE LOUNGE (wtf???), the Amazon registry makes it 100% clear that this is a blatant gift grab. Who on earth puts a MacBook AND an Ipad (someone got one for Jill...pretty crazy) on a registry? And all that cookware, only to add a slough of gift cards for chain restaurants? Is she going to mix a ton of shit and cook tons of soup in those stock pots, or not? http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?type=wedding&id=1Y75SR6EHP4RS&tag=wedch-994-20

JD emphasized that much of the work force would be those kids who were too small (or not born yet) the first time around. No clue how large this structure will be, but he said it was a "similar" project. Man, I'd hate to be the kid stuck living on the compound with Boob and Mullet for the rest of their parents' lives. Bin's dad left the prefab home business years ago (according to his blog), so it's unlikely Bin got a deal and shipped something to Tonitown. Given that Bin willingly became Boob's lackey, I have to guess that the house is for them at some point in the future...hoping TLC is around to decorate for them. All that stuff from the registry is going to need a very MAJESTIC space, y'all!!!!!

Dear Char: What exactly is "in-genuine?" She finally gets some airtime and shows that she's pretty stank. Good riddance. Korina can follow her out the door, but the producers (edit: because I really meant to make that plural) will keep her well past her expiration date because DRAMA!

The short answer is YES! JD talked about how they're building another house on the property in the "Dishing with the Duggars" TH that was filmed fairly recently. Jill hid her left hand, so it's pretty hard to tell exactly WHEN it filmed, but recently enough. Now, will it take 3 years and require TLC to finish it like the first time? :D If so, that relegates Bin and Bless to a rental house; I'm sticking with the Smuganna abode.

This People article shows just how much Boob controls the Duggar Brand. Bin didn't JUST move to Tonitown; he's been there for months. His sister instagrammed this past MAY about how much she MISSED Bin. He was out of Hot Springs the second he had his last final in late April/early May. It also logically explains his availability for Duggar outings and long-distance trips, including the "mission" jaunt. I also doubt Bin is in school, online or otherwise. It's just easier to say he's doing online school; harder to investigate that than attendance at a brick and mortar college. Professors aren't going to wait for papers while Bin gallivants around the country trashing Catholics. This article cancels out Pa Seewald's seeming caterwauling about how poor Bin has to jump through all these hoops with no end in sight (at the time he wrote that post). Boob gets wind of that and takes immediate action, both releasing Bin to marry Jessa, with a shit ton of conditions. Then he releases this information and a months-old video (the Hartonos were in town in May after Jennifer graduated from Pensacola Christian College in May). I think they'll live in Smuganna's old place; the guest house is just a tiny bedroom...no room for all that stuff on the registry. Hell, there isn't room in Smuganna's old place either, but that house is more than a guy doing work that the Howlers should be doing deserves. Bin is completely Boob's lackey. So much for his so-called "manhood." Derick may likewise be Boob's lackey to a certain degree, choosing to live in one of Boob's houses (with no chance to own it unless Boob and Mullet die), but he has two things Bin will never have: an education and a job independent of Boob.

Oh, I wanted to be wrong so I could snark on Jessa and her greed! As noted, they changed the date to 11/1, although The Knot still had 10/1 listed as of about an hour ago. So, they're going cheap as far as the actual wedding goes, but attempting an all-out gift grab with a little more than 2 months' lead time? Who do they know that can afford those big ticket items? All of their friends are worse off then Jessa's family, who are at the top of Fundie Royalty with their presence in the "real world." Will Poor Jessa be stuck using her old makeup bag and/or flat iron? Will she have to send Binbob to the auctions with Boob to buy a used vacuum cleaner? Horrors! The registry is preposterous, at best.
-
Hopefully he graduated to a red Solo cup for the marriage proposal. ;) I also think that registry is a fake. So many top of the line, expensive items! Who really puts a $200 hair straightener on their registry? I noticed that it was added to The Knot this morning, but there's no bio information accompanying it. Even Jill had that, even if most of the categories could only be seen with a password. If this registry is really Jessa's, shame on her! Who is going to buy them all of this expensive shit at the last minute? If they had a year, they might get that Kitchen Aid stand mixer or the $600 Dyson, but a cheap, hastily thrown together wedding deserves gifts on par with the quality of the wedding. If it really only 5 weeks from now, she might not even get to wear her own dress (unless she went against what she said on the show about not trying on dresses until she had a ring). On a Wednesday? Couldn't get a church on a Saturday at the last minute? If real, does this mean Bin really isn't in school, because who can take off right before midterms to get married? So much points to this being fake.

Speaking of Joseph Duggar, Bates family instagram this past week places him at their place for over a week. I bring this up because Tori Bates was part of a traveling party that visited the Duggars last month (accompanied by The Bank of Lawson and Trace). The way Gil has been marrying off his daughters to fundie royalty (IBLP Board, charter member, and IBLP Congressman), I could see him pairing up Tori with Joe. Man, this sounds like Pride and Prejudice! LOL Yes, they're young, but remember Alyssa was engaged to John Webster last year when she was about the same age as Tori now (she's 19 in December, if memory serves; Joe turns 20 in January). Joe has been pretty much on his own for years now, working construction with JD and for Boob from what I've been able to ascertain. If there is something afoot, we're still looking at a wedding maybe a year away; if Boob accepted Bin with no visible means of support, he should let Joe pursue a girl if he wants.

Cathy Dillard (don't remember her 2nd husband's name) had a full-time career with Wal-Mart when Derick and his brother were school-age (she's a self-employed consultant now). She holds a Master's degree and held an executive position with the company for about 20 years before leaving about 7 years ago (yes, I've seen her resume). So to answer the question: No, Derick and his brother were not homeschooled. I'm sure either Derick or Jill took a picture of the positive pee stick. It may well still show up on Instagram when the "coast is clear" from the People spread. Tacky, but it beats Priscilla tying a ribbon around hers and leaving it on the bed, with a card, for TFDW to find when he came home from work. Of course, he recorded everything and posted it to YouTube. Now that's SUPER tacky!

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary Actually, Jill did the PEOPLE interview on the 16th. She broke the news of her pregnancy to her FAMILY about a month after her wedding, in mid-late July (she did not give an exact date). The article quotes Jill as saying she got pregnant "less than two weeks after the wedding." That leads me to believe the nuptials were scheduled for the end of her cycle, with ovulation about 10 days later, leading to tests two weeks after that, some likely before the missed period (she didn't go into that kind of detail). At any rate, there's the "month." They announced to the entire family the next day. Oh eta: They had to do People this week, even the show is back next week. Next week's a holiday weekend; less attention and lower sales. It had to be this week, and Bin had to be done with his proposal to get their secondary blurb. At least they got a real spread with article this time, not just the pictorial they got for the wedding.

They apparently were on GMA this morning. I guess that means we'll also be subjected to the gender reveal a few months down the road. So much for Jill ever going back to midwifery, even on a part-time basis.

My last week of summer break...I get Benessa. She is cold as ice in those episodes and from what we've seen, she really never touched him until that touchy-feely "engagement" pic she (Bin?) posted on IG. I guess she wanted to grab his biceps? I guess *her* solution to sexual frustration is to go on diets, hair/makeup, and....sew modesty panels onto the bottoms of skirts they now wear? Oh wait, she has never been a sewer. Or a cook. I organize shit all the time. Once you get your system down, it's nothing. Truth told, I'm a coldass uber-organizing (not OCD) Jessa Bitch. My husband still struggles with email. His job has never required it, except now for his health insurance. He (or we) pick places to eat/stay; I take care of the details. How many fundie wives do this? jp Most of their early "dates" were due to TLC. What happens when JD is courting someone else and can't fly them to wherever, rather than take long trips ON THEIR OWN. I am like her and I know love. She's so forced, and I say this because she's had a camera in her face since she was 10/11. She knows the etiquette and playing it. I just hope they get out of the cult after the cameras go away. For now, Smuggar's old house...

Chad Paine posted some newer pics of them. Erin's hair is longer than in the tutorials (pretty much waist length), with no curls to be found! You can see the damage done to the bottom of her hair from those rollers. She needs to whack off a good 4-6" from the bottom. And leave it straight! It looks a thousand times better; she can keep those stupid pearls if she wants to continue rocking the Princess Erin look into her 30's and beyond. Ugh...

After I saw the ring shank pic this morning I suspected, and DuggarBlog confirmed, that either Benessa or, more likely, Boob through his PR/agent, sold the rights for her ring reveal to (most likely) People. If the jeweler gets a shout out, it's a comp. DuggarBlog doesn't allow direct linking, so here's what they had to say about The Ring: "Our readers have been begging for a picture of Jessa Duggar's engagement ring since Ben Seewald proposed to Jessa last Thursday, and we have one to share [edit: they showed the ring shank IG pic]. The photo doesn't show the diamond, but it's better than nothing, right? The Duggars are under contract and are limited to what they can release to the public, but they have assured us that more engagement information and photos are on the way soon."

FTR, I didn't confuse Nazarene with Pentecostal. I merely made a mistake when I identified Friendly Chapel, thinking that they were Pentecostal. It had nothing to do with mixing up doctrine and everything to do with my faulty memory! :)

Only Smuggles' engagement was shown on teevee although they did verbally explain the process of the courtship at some point (Duggar Dating Rules?). However, if you blinked, you would have missed the explanation of Boy going to Girl's father before Girl has a clue. We found out years later about Boob's "list" for potential suitors. Really, who is going to tick off every box on an exhaustive checklist? Maybe a Maxwell, but no one wants to marry them and be subjected to Steve, who is Boob times a million in terms of control. I hope Mike Seewald is happy now. He paid a much higher price then I bet he ever thought possible to ingratiate himself into fundie royalty.

Some wedding guests wore peach ribbons and Derick wore a peach tie (not to mention peach roses in the bouqets/boutinneres). Peach symbolizes endometrial and/or uterine cancer(s).

This is possibly Jessa's Pinterest. It looks to be a new page with pins commensurate with a fall wedding. http://www.pinterest.com/j9915/ w/r/t "Bin:" It's solely based on how everyone pronounces it. Southerners on this board have said that's how THEY pronounce it. Those of us from other parts of the country can tell the difference. As for "BinBob," it's pretty clear that Ben is trying to emulate Boob as a sort of Mini-Me. BinBob/JimBob. See what happened there? :) It's not malicious, it's based on observations of Ben over the past year.
-
Here's the TLC "thank you" video, which has more information about the wheres and hows of the scavenger hunt proposal. Jessa tries so hard to get down the helium voice and the adoring gaze, but even though she just got a ring, she's not quite pulling it off. Binbob looks like the cat that ate the canary. I predict divorce by 30. http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/19-kids-and-counting/videos/jessa-and-ben-a-scavenger-hunt-proposal.htm

Seewalds' (edited because it's in both Mike and Guinn's names) new blog; it launched this past Saturday: http://seewalds.com/marrying-young/ I linked directly to the entry that appears to be a passive-aggressive dig at Boob and the way he handles courtship where his daughters are concerned. The Seewalds (Vision Forum, pre Doug Phillips sex scandal) seem to be a little more lenient in their "courtship rules" than the Duggars. Let's see how Pa Seewald handles things when some guy comes after Jessica (who I think is 18 or close to it) or the other older girl whose name I can't remember offhand. Read the entry "Abuse of Women" to get his spin on where he stands religiously. His source material is Orthodox Presbyterian (ie. Puritan/Calvinist). This is not the board to go any deeper than that
