  1. I have SO MANY THOUGHTS! Vanessa is stunning - I think the one thing that I am amazed by is how good she looks on camera. Her skin always appears flawless and hermakeup looks perfect and practically invisible. I can't tell if it's because she is wearing none or just really really good at putting it on. Vanessa reminds me soooo much physically of this woman I used to work with (and hated) that all I see is the bitchiness. Raven, in comparison, has a trickier skin tone to deal with, but he makeup looked so "caked on" for the ATFR. Raven, bless her, I finally figured out what bugs me about her face: (and I feel awful saying this because I really like her and this is mean) It looks a little like her face has been ever so slightly warped by a funhouse mirror so that her forehead and chin are bigger than they should be and her eyes/nose/mouth are kinda shrunken and sunken. SHe seems to try to manipulate this by positioning her head to camouflage it, butthe close camera angles on ATFR seemed to highlight it more. I totally agree with Emily Maynard - there is trouble in Nick/Vanessa world, though Im not sure it is as bad yet with Nick and Vanessa as it was with Emily/Brad. And I think the main difference is that Nick and Vanessa seem to like the struggle while Em/Brad seemed to like the control that caused the struggle. They might just make it. I don't know. I think Nick was toting Rachel along for a long time knowing she was a) awesome and b)not his choice. I think it was in ST Thomas that he said something along the lines of, "You never know, Something good could come of this, look what happened with me", and to me it seemed he wasn't reassuring her about his feelings (like he had in New Orleans) but about the chance of being the Bachelorette. (This may have been colored by the announcement shortly thereafter). I don't think they slept together - especially if its true that it "was always Vanessa" like he said. I also think that Vanessa is not a producer/Chris favorite or fan. I think that may be where some of the tension on the ATFR came from, while it was absent on Jimmy Kimmel. I don't think she was easy to deal with on the show, so producers dont like her. And I dont think she liked the way she/Rachel were portrayed, so she doesnt like the producers. YMMV. Loved the puppies so much.
  2. Because looks like a lot of the women in the house, besides Corinne, had issues with her? Because the show had a long storyline about her and her interaction with Corinne, and it was 'good tv'. YMMV, but i hated almost every moment of the Corinne/Taylor nonsense. It was like watching an interaction between a Rush Limbaugh type who knows really well how to get the best of their medium and someone trying to provide thoughtful opposing commentary. The expert (in this case Corinne) just jumps in in every thought break and Taylor kept just getting interrupted, disrupted and lost. This just wasnt her medium. The other women in the house who didnt seem to like her were Josephine and Jasmine. I think that speaks pretty well of Taylor. Those two seemed pretty horrible. And it was clear from her comments tonight that despite all evidence to the contrary, Corinne totally misheard/misunderstood the emotional intelligence comment, giving Taylor even more credibility with me. Lastly, what was up with Corinne's hair? There was more of it, it was shineless, and her face framing wisps looked terrible.
  3. Well, Rob Mills, ABC SVP for alternative programming, said on a podcast this week (Channel 33's Bachelor Party) that yes, this is legit. It was right after CHris Soules. Chris was a dud on the show. It reportedly destroyed any chance of his relationship with WHitney, so Fleiss thought it was bad for the brand and said no. This is my addtional thought: ABC thought it was bad for the DWTS brand to break up couples and have another boring Bachelor contestant right away. IE: BORING to always have the kind of contestants every season. And it's not like Kaitlyn was a successful Bachelorette. SHe destroyed her season. She was the anti-Melissa. SO its not like they felt a ton of upside.
  4. If anyone here likes podcasts, there is a great one out right now that really pulls back the curtain a bit. Channel 33 from the Ringer Episode 270 Bachelor Party is with ABC's SVP of Alternative programming, Rob Mills. It's a Bachelor Podcast, but the do talk about some other items, like the Oscar flub at the start. Stick with it! They discuss a lot of Bachelor history, including whether Kaitlyn was allowed/disallowed to be on DWTS, Bachelor greats, and some Bachelor duds. I really enjoyed it. Get it wherever you get your podcasts, or here: https://theringer.com/channel-33-podcast-pop-culture-sports-tech-6b4b4905ea54#.i2eprkdb2
  5. I caught the same thing. Though the main comment was repeated so often that i lost my ability to determine if the time this was said, it was a splice job.
  6. I dont think it helps that this isnt the first disparaging thing Raven has said about her ex or that the person in question has been identified.
  7. I don't think there's anything wrong with Raven's lack of orgasms, but do think it complicates her position with Nick: this orgasmlessness changes her persona from what we have been shown thus far: Up til now, she was the feisty, adventurous, straight talking contestant. A breath of fresh air for him. I feel like we are supposed to have believed she is kind of wild. Now, she has just presented this, sort of, demure side? Its not demure to share explicit details about your sex life, but a lack of sexual satisfication indicates a certain lack of curiosity and adventurousness and communication. I think THAT will scare Nick more than her oversharing. He has told us he likes his relationships "raw". A lack of sexual adventurousness or openness doesnt seem to fit that. Poor Raven, I don't think this is going to have a happy ending for her.
  8. Yup. I flitted in and out of the show in the early days. That sounds sooooo awful. Poor Helene!
  9. Hahahahahahahahahaha. Yes. To Both questions. Many couples have broken up as the show aired. Brad & Emily were apparently kaput, but come on to the ATFR saying they were working on things. Ben Flajnik and Courtney R had broken up and gotten nominally back together (at least for the sake of twitter fame) for the ATFR. I think Juan Pablo and Nikki were faking happiness too. Some couples are truly happy at the ATFR, but many are not, and the web rumors and body language often give the truth away. Jason Mesnick is the most famous example, but he 'switched women' allegedly because Molly was about to be the Bachelorette (or he was told she would be to create drama and hurry the storyline along for exciting ratings). On much older seasons, such as the one with Jesse Palmer where the final woman received a plane ticket, I think they were broken up almost immediately. That was pretty common in the early days, I think, especially if there was no engagement, or "engagement". I think that's partly why Trista's season with Ryan was such a runaway ratings success - they did actually stand a chance and that was unusual in the early days!
  10. Totally agree. Imho, Chad has an alcohol problem. He seems fine sober, but until he gets treatment and therapy and quits drinking, he is going to be a maniac who has no business on tv. Corinne is a twit. But mostly a sweet one. Taylor notwithstanding.
  11. Yes - it's this: I think she suddenly weighs more, and because of the new extra weight/shape of her body/prepartying, she doesnt trust the heels. I have seen much larger than Corinne women strut in heels, but they are used to carrying the weight and their muscles are accustomed to it. She just... wasn't? It was not her finest hour. She should have just taken them off.
  12. She did look super awkward walking in the shoes. Not sure if she's just not used to heels that high or if she didn't break the shoes in well before showcasing her strut on national television but she definitely looked like she needed some more time at least to acclimate. Of course they would include a specific camera shot that's just on her walking in her heels, lol. They were insanely high platform with stillettos. And pretty tricky floors. But still, Those shoes are going to be tough no matter how acclimated you are. The only people I've ever seen walk in them successfully are Victoria's secret Angels. And they get paid A LOT of money to make that strut sexy. Awful as this is to say out about a woman, I think Corinne is carrying an extra 10 lbs on a fairly small frame since the start of the season. I think those 10 pounds are making it a lot harder to balance in those crazy shoes. High heels just make carrying that weight a whole lot harder, and it showed.
  13. I might boycott/complain, because seriously. They ARE SPOILING THEIR OWN ENDING. But i have no interest in being any part of even the slightest bit of a negative backlash against Rachel. A) she is awesome. B) twitter is pretty racist and im already worried about what might be said about her. C) She is the first African American lead!!!!! Which is great. And ultimately, this didnt 'spoil the season' for me. Nick and Corinne did.
  14. Yes!! No wonder his relationships with people who he had a single one-on-one date with five 'weeks' ago arent progressing!
  15. Finally figured out why this entire season, the show hasnt wrapped on rose ceremonies: THERE ARE NO ROSE CEREMONIES! How are the women going to make BACHELOR scrapbooks?
  16. Its a reference to her name (danielle lombard) and propensity for insanely low cut booby dresses ala JLo's green versace dress at the oscars.
  17. I agree. It was gross. Not because Lorna was doing her job, but because Corinne think people of color cater to her every whim because they enjoy it, not because they get paid for it. It was the 'Raquel will be jealous' comment, which i know was a joke, that just grated. Especially on a show with a terrible history of race insensitivity that just went to a plantation house for laughs.
  18. You cleary missed the part of the date where they danced. That dress was so short but also flouncy that if she moved you would get a view of her hoo-ha. So yes. Business in the top, party in the bottom. I think the main thing that happened is that intelligent adult women werent having fun playing a game they dont like in bikinis with drunk people (jasmine/corinne). Nick wanted to have a fun date, but instead of going somewhere fun on a beautiful island, they... played volleyball. Im pretty sporty and even still I hate beach volleyball: sand goes uncomfortable places, theres a lot of jumping and bouncing in undersupportive bathing suits, and balls are flying at your face. When a bunch of female friends get together to have fun, beach volleyball in string bikinis is unlikely to be on the list of Activities. Add into things that most of the women on the date have had one-on-ones, and the timing was off. They wanted to do something that at least presented an opportunity for quiet intimate moments with Nick. Instead, the date played to their bouncy-house Corinne frustrations: Several of them have already said to him: "If you want to jump around with a girl in a princess castle bouncy house, then Im not the woman for you." The beach volleyball date was essentially: lets all bounce around in bikinis while you watch and figure which one of our bouncing bodies you like best. Not: lets talk and see if we connect"
  19. Ugh - i did not find corinne amusing this episode. SHe was the one starting the conversations witht the other women (with the exception of the one moment, post bouncy house, where Sarah, Taylor and someone else went to wake her up to make sure she made the rose ceremony). But that moment seemed honestly kind to me, though it was editted in with talking heads to make it seem a little meaner. I have dealt with male Corinnes during my professional life, and they honestly are the worst, jumping in, interrupting, reacting to one word in a conversation, not the thought. I was impressed with the way Taylor handled the bigheadedness. SHe was clearly exasperated, but not rude. Though she did become a bit condescending as the inanity wore on. I feel a bit bad for Taylor, I think she is trying to stay above/out of the fray, but isnt doing a great job of it.
  20. The thing i find sad about Corinne isnt the way she is throwing herself at Nick, its the way all her self esteem seems wrapped up in how her seductions go over. She's not doing these things because she's in touch wih her sexuality. She's doing these things because she wants to feel valued, and using her her sex appeal is the only way she knows how. I dont think she likes sex. She likes attention. And that makes her the anti-Kaitlyn, who simply indulged herself whenever she was feeling sexy. And i think that will turn Nick off when he has enough time with her to figure it out.
  21. Please dont post spoilers here, pretty pretty please. This is one of the few places I know I can reliably avoid them and still get my fill of bachelor chat :). ( I say this mainly because the ads on other sites can do you in even if you arent clicking on something spoilery. Thanks Previously.TV for having such a clean interface!) Yes! To Jason Dohring! There is something in his persona that seems to match messed-up Logan Echols with a good heart. Nick is much more handsome than doughy Spencer Pratt, though I do see the resemblance. BUt yes, he is a dead ringer for a young Peter MacNicol.
  22. Ugh. Thank god they didnt go with Chase. He may be a good guy, but he was sooooo dull and inarticulate! And inarticulate makes for the worst kind of bachelor!
  23. While i think Nick is more my type physically than a lot of the football bro types that have graced this series, I do think there have been some hunks. Andrew Firestone? Yum. I also think the string of fairhaired leads in the middle of the series were pretty handsome (Brad, Andy Baldwin, and Travis Stork). But they tended to be cute/jocks rather than sexy to me. I think for sheer sexiness, Nick's approach is good, and Arie was sexy. There was also the black-and-white cookie guy on andi's season - marquel, I think? And i aways thought Ashley's JP was sexy. I think the challenge though is there is a mystery to sexiness, and mystery doesnt play well on this show when you are one of 25-30 trying to stand out and make yourself famous. (I think this is why Juan Pablo came across as sexy on Desiree's season - he lack of native fluency in english, which was really a communication challenge, played as sexiness). Nick seems to have a little mystery though, he's so fresh in terms of his approach to the show (in his 4th appearance, ha!)
  24. Well, this is Nick we're talking about. I'm kinda surprised he hasnt been slapped a few times on the show already. ;)
  25. Blech. Not my type. At all. I mean, i can understand why he appeals to some, but i find his face to be a weird mash up of very masculine features (chin, nose) and very feminine ones (cheekbones, lips). And then you add in the beady eyes. Nope.
