  1. Since we're talking about previous seasons of the Bachelor/ette: which ones would you recommend?
  2. I just... I cannot believe that she used that word, relationship, and neither her boss nor Elliot said: "No, there can be no 'relationship' between an adult man and a 13 yo. No, a 13 yo can not give consent." I hate her. I hope we are supposed to. The fact that she would even suggest something like that... What, that the child ran away to be with her lover, and then it "went sour" when he kept her hostage for the next 13 years? How does she not hear how messed up that sounds! I'd wonder if it's going to be revealed that something traumatic happened to her too, and that's why she has such a skewed view of things... but then again, no one contradicted her. Blech. (I'm enjoying the show, don't get me wrong. But I hope it will validate our feelings of disgust in the end.)
  3. Not all of them thought the same though: It's just kind of odd that he phrased it that way on his profile... like he was afraid people would question it? Odd.
  4. Reality Steve about Chad's Match.com profile: And Chad himself about his past as a marine.
  5. Oh. Well, I stand corrected, thanks wovenloaf. Do you have a link? I'm curious to see what she says as I personally have trouble understanding how any woman can like him... (so he really is a realtor then? I thought he presented himself as an "investor" on his insta.)
  6. If I had a violent, stalker-y ex, I'm not sure I'd come forward... His exes's silence is in no way a point in his favor. (Actually, one could remark that none of his exes have come forward to defend him either... No one has, for that matter; not an ex, not a friend, not a coworker. Not even his sister as far as I know. We could draw conclusions from that silence instead...)
  7. I don't think this has been posted yet: Chad’s profile on Match.com.
  8. There were two words, my guess was "fucking batshit", but who knows... Yep. You could really tell in the episode how scared he was every time one of the other guys was asking him a question, and then how he resorted to saying "I don't know", leaving the room or attacking them / deflecting in some way because he was just terrified of saying the wrong thing. It's no coincidence Jordan snarked about him struggling in the event of a spelling bee. His head just seems completely empty. Other than his "Milk's delicious" trolling, all of his quips have been in talking heads. And the once time he tried to be witty live because he was feeling "safe" with Daniel, that protein shake metaphor didn't really go anywhere, did it... I agree with everyone that Alex has seemed too obsessed with Chad since the very beginning, but 1) that's the producers asking all of them to comment on Chad and then keeping 90% of Alex to create a narrative 2) I thought what Alex said to Chad after they were done talking with Jojo, when they were alone on that blanket waiting to see who would get the boot, was interesting: that when he found out Chad was a marine like him, he thought they'd be best friends, and then he was really disappointed when he saw how Chad behaved. I don't know much about marines and their "values" or whatever, but I'm guessing it hits much closer to home with Alex that someone who's supposed to be a stand-up guy - and also someone he has something huge in common with - is such a "piece of shit", to quote him. Alex is probably offended Chad makes all marines, including himself, look bad...
  9. How many gems can 53 pictures hold! Previewing episode 2 last week: "y'all will understand that I'm not violent, but I will stand up for myself, being as I, like everyone else, do not like being harassed and bullied" Even if he isn't in it himself, he gets some support from the PUA community. Choice comment found here: "Chad is a threat to the soft male... He is making shit right again. Stop all the white knight bullshit. Focus on yourself and the bitches come to you". Charming, huh? He apparently trained really hard to get in shape for the show, then when his clothes didn't fit anymore he "spent 7 grand on clothes just for [the show]"! #relatable His tags are hilarious, and he keeps tagging two different Jojo accounts... Doesn't even know which one is the right one. If she's smart, she's blocked him! Nightmare fuel. Is that even healthy? Oh and let's not forget Daniel giving Chad a run for his money here. "Let's just pretend you're Hitler." I can't wait for Monday!
  10. Thanks a lot for your explanations @JenE4!
  11. Here: "Jordan Rodgers, quarterback at Vanderbilt University and the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, was among students speaking out against the school's nondiscrimination policy as it applies to student groups, especially religious ones. Rodgers is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which is opposed to homosexuality and whose website talks about "saving" gays from their "lifestyle." (...)" (there may be more, I don't know; I got this from Huahaha's link)
  12. Thanks for the link, Huahaha. The incident was in 2012 and that article is from 2013, so possibly just some damage control, plus being "OK with a gay teammate" is kind of a low bar... but okay, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. By the way, I was checking out those guys' profiles and based on them, I think my favorites are Derek, Christian and... Jordan! It was even worse, I think it was something about... polishing a hose? Or something... (And on his online profile, he is listed as a "male model" instead of a Canadian. Really??)
  13. Agreed! I was prepared to dislike Jordan, and I don't. I don't mind his style either; I think it's a pretty common look among younger guys right now. I read somewhere he was a huge bigot though; so I was all the more surprised to see he seemed to be the most soft-spoken metrosexual one out of all those guys. We'll see, I guess... I didn't get that particular vibe, but he's definitively creepy, and a creep, lurking in the shadows like he did. Jojo was def uncomfortable with that... And either it's completely fake, or the producers went and kicked him out when he stole Evan's one-on-one: by the time Alex arrived to confront him, he was already gone, replaced by another guy... But that murderous look he shot at James Taylor when he got a rose... Shivers! Also that line: "It's only fun to mess with people when they get upset", which he seemed to mean... Brrrr. I love him on the show - a real love-to-hate-him villain -, but he'd genuinely scare me IRL. Oooh yes, that's it! He's a mix between Eric Close and Alec Baldwin. *** I'll miss James Superfan, he was like a giant puppy, and so serious about things, a bit like Alex, but endearing! There's something about Luke that makes me uncomfortable, though I can't put my finger on what exactly. He seems... tense. And like everyone else, I love Wells! If she doesn't pick him, I think he'd make a very interesting bachelor (and maybe he could have some more "alternative" suitors too...) All in all, I'm really glad I started watching this program! It's my first time, I'm a Bachelorette virgin. What does "F1" mean btw? And what's the inside joke about "Wrong Reasons"?
  14. Oh. I didn't remember that. Thanks! Will definitively keep a closer eye on the whole crew now...
  15. Ohhhh... Nice. Yeah that came completely out of nowhere, I didn't get Raven's "Finally!" at all. Well it was one of her followers that killed him in the hangar bay, wasn't it? And she's always standing next to her followers in high-stake situations, so she must have seen it. I don't see a mystery there. (Which doesn't mean that no one around Clarke is chipped, of course. I'll have to pay closer attention to her crew. How delicious would it be if it was Bellamy?)
  16. If it were me, I'd much rather be in a cushy jail for life than a sex slave for life.
  17. Well... I'll take your word for it! It does make way more sense that way.
  18. I thought so. I thought she looked taken aback. I'm almost doubting myself now, it's so... crazy and, no one has even remarked on it! I clipped and uploaded it here: am I misreading it??
  19. Okay but I replayed the scene ten times and the kid, the one who shot his friend, after his conversation with Amelia in which she wants him to promise he will say "I didn't mean to" whenever he feels bad, when he turns around while his mom is leading him away, what he says is: "I meant to". It's at 32'37.
  20. (Based on the show, as I have no knowledge of the real-life case), I think it's more to do with his relationship with Nicole. Being striken that OJ hadn't asked how she'd died, shocked that he would smirk and put on a show while putting on the gloves covered in his wife's blood... When you loved that woman, when you're mourning her, that has got to make you think...
  21. I don't think this has been brought up yet about the episode or the real-life events of the trial, but... is that Johnnie Cochran attempting a subtle version of a "Black Power" salute as he finishes his closing argument? It's at 16'01. https://40.media.tumblr.com/9ea87910effd71d1819a55429e7ff938/tumblr_o5a2ew8wgZ1vqj56xo2_1280.png https://40.media.tumblr.com/540516362f35fb59de9c14c361852b4c/tumblr_o5a2ew8wgZ1vqj56xo1_1280.png (sorry, I have no idea how to create a GIF)
  22. Just read this about Lincoln's death on Tumblr: I don't understand why Lincoln would choose to go to his knees though. That seems out of character... or... problematic, for sure. Also after hearing the allegations of bullying, I couldn't help but think the showrunner had chosen to have not so much Lincoln, but Ricky himself die in that mud. How much time did he spend in it, how many times was he sent back to his trailer to change into a new set of dry clothes for yet another take? I can't help but imagine JRoth plotting to torture Ricky as some sort of petty revenge as he exited the show... I'm kinda surprising no one had tried to replace Titus before, since apparently the Flamekeeper role requires no training whatsoever... I thought Ontari sounded very Gossip Girl-y, took me out of the scene every time. I had found her much more convincing in her first episode. Also I still think Luna = Lexa's sister! Finally, unpopular opinion time: I hate that Lexa and Lincoln have died - and the way they've died -, but I've never been more interested in the show, between the CoL storyline, the chip and everything! All that stuff is a more-than-welcome relief from Pike and Bellamy's fuckery...
  23. Also also also: apparently there was talk of a reality show for H's mom (and maybe G's mom also, I'm not sure) G was apparently "in tears" on snapchat at some point (when he announced he wasn't coming back, I think?) another theory I read on some blog just now: "some fans think that both Hayden and Michelle got upset about the “Gayden” shipping on Instagram and wanted Jonnor “toned down” as a result" there was also speculation that body doubles were used for their last hug on the show (that Kalicia realness right there!), but that was debunked And now I'm closing my browser! That's enough gossip for one day, lol.
