  1. My heart broke for Vhagar. I think that the bond between dragons and their riders is extremely strong and Vhagar knew Laena was in a hopeless situation. I also think that Vhagar will accept Laena's dragonless daughter as her new rider. Laenor told her daughter that she didn't bond with her dragon until she was 15, so there is hope. Give these two a bond!!
  2. I may be wrong but that second pod looked whole. A flashback? Possibly but I am not willing. at this time to go back and check it out.
  3. Whenever I see the tall stranger with Nori and The Harfoots, I can't help but feel that we are seeing Gandalf at his beginning/arrival in Middle Earth. Wizards, I think, are described as powerful angelic beings. The tall stranger is now showing some of his power and he is living with the nature loving Harfoots. Now, I am curious about who we will see coming out of the second flaming pod, especially since the pod was found by some people that look decided mean and evil.
  4. I get Littlefinger vibes with Larys Strong. Definitely the slithering snake in the garden with the Queen. Daemon's wife had a way with words....total emasculation for him! I don't think he could have said anything even if he wanted to. I almost laughed when she looked surprised at his murderous look.
  5. Good fried chicken!! Yum!! Never read the book and wouldn't because I am not a Stephen King book fan but my gut tells me the cave story is important and tied to the Cuco origin story otherwise why spend so much time with the caves? 34 or 36 people trapped, starving and going crazy. Hmmmm. I said a gut feeling but I have to say I do live on Tums, soooooo.......
  6. Looks like Kendall is a 'killer'. Take that Logan. That was nasty the way Logan said that. I had a feeling that Kendall was Logan'S choice for a blood sacrifice and I hoped Kendall would stand up to him by the episode end. Too much time was spent with Logan literally prepping a 'broken' Kendall to take the fall. Logan'S last speech to Kendall was incredibly fake and disgusting. Smug bastard! Can't wait for next Season. The funny thing i5s that I feel that Kendall just gained some respect from his father. I was surprised and pleased to see a serious and non- snarking Roman, a ballsy Tom and a feeling Shiv.
  7. Monster was very DEEP RISING. DP is a great movie IMHO and I tend to watch every time I see it on cable. Me = moth and DP = flame. Same with LAKE PLACID. Great characters with tension and fun
  8. How can something so horrible be absolute perfection? The acting, the production values....superb. I am mesmerized watching this disaster unfolding. I hope CHERNOBYL gets some well deserved Emmys. Loved the head miner this ep. Guess you don't mess with a coal miner.
  9. A whimper and not a bang. At least Drogon and Ghost are alive. Drogon's fiery comment about the Throne was the best. No matter what, I am happy I had 7/8 years of this show. It was appointment TV.
  10. Well...that was absolutely exhausting and well done. I feel really bad for Ser Jorah and Edd. At least Theon died after being thanked by Bran and being told that he was a good man. The expression on his face was all that. I will say that I am a bit disappointed that the Night King was killed so soon and so easily. I wonder if Bran was able to block the Nght King from seeing Arya sneak in for the final blow. Smart girl with her design. I was oddly pleased to see Dany effectively fight like she did. Even though I am disappointed that the Night King died so soon, this is called a Game of Thrones for a reason and the main players are still alive. More battles ahead.
  11. I think that there were 2 objectives that Konstantin and the other handlers wanted to accomplish (1) kill Frank and (2) have the assassins kill each other. Seriously, that was a very volatile threesome and they were psycho nasty on their own. I suppose the handlers would be okay with one assassin left standing and take care of the matter at a later time. What does a handler do when their charge doesn't want to listen any more? This was a great set-up.
  12. I think the ending indicates that Carrie will be okay because despite the wild eyes and hair, she had enough presence of mind to take a running dive to the 'safe side' during the exchange. I found it down right chilling when Yevgeny said that all he needs is a seed and conspiracy theorists will do the rest.
  13. I read an article a month ago about new shows starting and I noticed Sandra Oh and KILLING EVE. I immediately set my DVR to record the series because I seem to have the memory of a gnat lately. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw 2 episodes taped (yep, I forgot ). Got to say that I am loving this series so far and I WILL NOT forget to watch on Sundays from now on. I am truly sorry about Bill because I enjoyed the dynamic between him and Eve. He was a good partner for her but the hunt had to become REAL real for Eve. It had to have consequences slammed into her on a personal level. I bet we see a very different Eve from now on - focused and deadly. Bubbly Eve is gone and the new Eve will be inching her way into a Carolyn type character who seems brilliant but weary from seeing too much with MI6. Just my musings. I am pleased that so many others like Sandra Oh. I watched her on GREY'S ANATOMY but the first time I saw her was in a series called ARLISS. Guess it was on HBO, same as DREAM ON. I was young and I blushed a lot because it was raunchy. Oh my young eyes!!!! :) Richard Whul played a conniving sports agent and Sandra Oh was his very out upon secretary. She was amazing! I do have to say that my parents thought ARLISS was a comedy and so they dismissed it as harmless for me to watch. If they only knew. I know Jodie Comer (Villanelle) from THE WHITE PRINCESS. I didn't particularly care for that short series but I am a sucker for British history. I have to say that I am impressed with Comer's acting in KILLING EVE. The way she focuses on her victims as they are dying is quite chilling.
  14. I liked James D'Arcy before but I simply adore him now because of Jarvis on AGENT CARTER. Loved that series!! I was both surprised and supremely pleased to see him on HOMELAND and I like the scruffy look. I like Linus Roache, so I am happy to see King Ecbert again. The church scene was good. Yes, it was manipulative but I didn't mind because the Virginia widow (can't remember her name) seemed very sensible from the get go. Ask far as Simone is concerned, I think she is one smart and hardened agent. I think she calmly and effectively led Carrie's team to Wellington to implicate him in McClendon's death.
  15. I am assuming that since Lazlo wants 'to get into the head' of the murderer, he felt compelled to know what it felt like to cut into human flesh.
  16. Oh yes please!! LOL Excellent idea but Jon would never allow it. So many questions and so many contrivances but I guess we are speeding to the end and we just have to grumble and take it. Sigh. I especially can't stand watching a film or show set in frigid temperatures and the actors are running without hats and gloves, coats or clothes sometimes. Gah! Give me a break! Someone better be suffering from a little frostbite next ep. I can't even imagine. The best I come up with is that the chains were left over from making the wall....and they didn't get rusty after 8 thousand years. I found the wight that the group caught to be very interesting because it didn't shatter with the rest when Jon killed the WW. Why? And why were the other wights trying so hard to release it? I tend to think the WW that was killed was not that wight's maker and that the NK did not want that wight making it past the Wall for viewing until he is ready to start his march South. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but the 'Arrow' mountain was first seen in the background when the Children of the Forest made the NK. The landscape was lush, green and beautiful back then "Faster than a speeding bullet".......the raven from Eastwatch to Dragonstone!!.
  17. I saw a clip of Gwendoline Christie (probably from Comic Con) where she was asked if her character would be different this Season (or something like that) and GC responded that Brienne would be physical in a different way. Of course my mind went there LOL. Well of course! I think Cersei is faking the pregnancy but a poster (sorry, forgot who) mentioned that Qyburn asked Cersei ' if she wanted something for it', which means that she could be pregnant. Why? And why now? Pregnant or not, Cersei is a very calculating and seems to be 3 steps ahead of everyone so she has plans with only 7 eps left. Wow!! I have to sit back and think about this left turn and nurse a headache.
  18. I absolutely loved the scene with Jon and Drogon getting up close and personal. Nice touch with Jon taking his glove off to feel Drogon I am guessing that Sam is still in the dark about his brother and father and that he is now the head of the Tarly House. We, the audience, now have confirmation that Rhaegar annulled his marriage to his wife to marry Lyanna but because of Sam's hissy fit, he didn't listen to Gilly. At this point I think the only way Jon will learn of his father is from Holland Reed or is something is in the crypt of Winterfell. Maybe Gilly kept that book for reading material. I did like how Gendry and The Brotherhood with The Hound all showed up at Eastwatch. in time to help Jon. I have to say that I dearly enjoy Richard Dormer who plays Beric Dondarrion. He played crazy and creepy so well in FORTITUDE. How does Beric get his sword to flame like that? It can't be the Sword of Dawn (Ithink that's what it is called), can it? The actor playing Gendry, Joe Dempsie, sure has matured since the beginning of GOT....I almost didn't recognize him. I hope he uses that nice big hammer on Littlefinger! See....I am very hopeful that most of the men return to Eastwatch and then Winterfell. I highly doubt that Cersei is pregnant. I hope it is only a ruse to keep Jaime under her thumb. I may hate Cersei but the woman is crazy smart and definitely takes after her father.
  19. Good to know. Interesting that the showrunners used the 'Roman' name. Still, it could have a double meaning since Qyburn is involved. Hoping it is just a clever misdirect.
  20. Two nights since the episode and I just had this thought.......why did Qyburn call the ballista Scorpion? That sure doesn't sound good. I hope it is only a name the mad scientist douche made up for his contraption and has no more consequences for Drogon other than his his wound! He looks okay in the previews for next week but you never know with this show.
  21. Just some thoughts about this episode and I usually wait until I watch an episode twice - I was actually impressed with Jaime. He cares for his troops which shows a totally different leadership quality than Tarly. Jaime stayed in the thick of it and then was willing to sacrifice himself to kill Dany. Looking down Drogon's throat must have been 'a pee in your pants' moment. I have always enjoyed Bronn and thought he was a good sidekick for both Tyrion and Jaime respectively. I am a bit disappointed that he is fighting for Cersei but he is a Sellsword. Bronn is an excellent and crafty fighter and in this episode he was definitely outclassed by the Dothraki fighter. That ballista saved Bronn's ass and it was a great scene pining that Dothraki to the wood. I was not happy that it was Bronn who wounded Drogon but Jaime would have been useless aiming the ballista. At least Drogon looks okay because Qyburn is a nasty little man and could have put poison on the tips. Bronn's flying leap to save Jaime was amazing!! I tend to believe Bronn did the save out a feeling friendship for Jaime but it could be just for the money as well. As GOT viewers I think we all look forward to the magnificent battle scenes on this show but last night was a bit different because we were shown how shaken Dickon (what a name!) was after fighting and killing ex-comrades at Highgarden. After that we saw the soldier(s) literally shaking watching the Dothraki hoarde and Drogon approaching. Nice humanizing touch by the showrunners. Oh Dany, please stop this bend the knee. She tells Jon to swallow his pride but can't she swallow her pride as well and understand his position? He just showed her proof in the cave that 2 enemies, the children of the Forest and the First Men, united to fight a common and deadly enemy. I noticed that Dany tells the Lannister soldiers to bend the knee or die in the previews. I cringed. This request/demand was so different from what Missandre just told Jon and Davos about herself and Dany's other followers. Looks like Tyrion and Varys will be having a hard time trying to counsel Dany to stop such threats. Anyone else think that Qyburn has an asembly line of workers making numerous ballistas to be placed all around KL? Dany just destroyed the food everyone needs for the winter. This could hurt Dany as well as Cersei but Dorne is still a Dany ally and could possibly ship supplies to her and her troops. Just a thought because I would like to see Cersei in a bad position with something since she did get all the gold. all this 'bend the knee or die' speeches makes me think of Eddie Izzard's "cake or death" from his DRESSED TO KILL stand-up routine. One of the funniest routines I have ever seen....so I bought the DVD. I have worried every time a Direwolf has appeared in an episode. Then I started worrying about the dragons. Last night I got downright queasy with the death of so many horses. Seriously, that one scene where the Dothraki slices the leg off Bronn's horse was a great tactical move but damn!! it was awful. The men can blow each other up, just leave the innocent and faithful creatures alone. Having said this, I have 9 queasy episodes left. Gah!
  22. My take....Cercei realizes that she has lost and plans to blow up KL rather then have any else take the throne. Jaime is forced to kill the Mad Queen to prevent all the innocents from dying.. Full circle. I am betting that we see a shirtless Jon soon so that Dany can see the scar over his heart. Has to happen since Dany asked Tyrion if she heard Davos correctly. Can't wait!
  23. I have no problem with the way Bran is acting because he really isn't Bran anymore. I think he feels a familial bond but he has a purpose and is all seeing. I thought Sansa's reaction to Bran 's vision about her wedding was perfect. We saw a similar reaction with Varys when Melisandre told him about his death. Both Sansa and Varys were shaken to their core. Cersei has Jaime and he is known as a excellent military strategist but the best thing that has happened to Cersei is Euron and his calculating psycho brilliance on the water. Dany has to take Euron out (probably by dragon) because he has essentially created a blockade and has stopped Dany's navy and a lot of her land forces. Tyrion is good but I am glad Jorah is on his way and I bet his military expertise will help Dany get some necessary wins. I will miss Lady Olenna dearly. Such a sweet mouth! She got her final revenge and I am pleased. I would give almost anything to see Olenna and Violet Crawley in the same room. Maggie Smith and Dianna Rigg for snark of the centuries!! Oh Sam...don't frown!.. I bet Maester Broadbent (can't think of his show name right now) did give you a reward or present in those moldy OLD papers. Two things about that scene with Cercei and Jaime - (1) Yes, Cersei could have been on a bloodlust high after her visit with Ellaria but I thought it was great timing on Cersei's part to insure Jaime's love and devotion in the coming (no pun intended) battles. (2) I wonder how Jaime would have felt if he had known what Cersei had just used her mouth for down in the dungeon. Hmmmmm.
  24. I agree. The way Jaime was looking at Cersei makes me think and hope that he kills the 'mad Queen' before the series ends. It would be so fitting. I know someone has to defend the castle where the Wall meets the sea, but damn! that means Tormund will face the WW's first and I want him around until the end. He's an excellent 'soldier' and he has that gorgeous head of perfectly coiffed hair! Bonus points for all lusty looks at Brienne.
