  1. You and I both. They probably need to screen them, but I'm surprised there's any hubbub over this because I had no problem believing they were representative of regular passersby. None of them were especially this or that, in my opinion, and Kini's was the farthest away from model size, as has been mentioned. On a regular day in NYC, there are tons of younger, slimmer girls closer to traditional model size that they could have all waited to ask instead.
  2. Fourthed. But, I was celebrating along with Gwen when she got her reggae talent. Good for Anita seeing through Adam's antics. Gwen is so talented and experienced but she's yet to work out how to shrewdly convey it in her style.
  3. They might--they have a pre-existing friendship that was enough to attend each other's b-days/baby showers, etc. Not that NBC would ever consider it though, as we all know. I've always enjoyed Gwen's sparkly personality throughout her career and am withholding judgment for at least a few live shows.
  4. It's funny while I was watching I was actually thinking how surprisingly competent her acting has been like in the A-Z of DWTS and the intro to the second dance. That skit was unconvincing and lame in its concept and writing, not the performers' deliveries, I think. I've never seen her show, but since she's still a non-performing teenager (i.e., she's famous for being herself and not required to mask her emotions), I'm not surprised she's behaving like one instead of the celebs with media training and constructed images to uphold.
  5. I don't miss Kors and his lack of substance and puerile humour. He was all about hyperbole to get the best soundbite for attention. I'm really enjoying Zac's thoughtful, more technical critiques and how invested he is, evident in how genuinely excited he gets about designers with exceptional technical ability like Kini. What I do eternally miss is Bravo's production quality. They knew how to edit for snappiness. That's the edge that's missing from this vanilla bloatfest.
  6. It's hard to stay interested when the host himself looks bored to tears with the redundancy. Gone is the genuine glee he once had. The tie seemed totally contrived to do a "first" on the show to keep it fresh.
  7. Was impressed with Trina, Towanda, and Traci's spontaneous gospel singing over breakfast. Apparently, they don't truly need Toni and Tamar other than for marketing purposes which, unfortunately for them, is vital. Tamar & Toni clearly don't want to slum it and used the single idea as their out. Towanda and Traci wouldn't be opposed to Gabe and Trina's happiness if they weren't loveless harpies. I'm glad Gabe and Trina are in a great place now. Gabe also has never looked better. Mama E as well. Cockroach Omarosa couldn't pass up a desperate bid for relevancy and appear. Ugh.
  8. I think I recall that, too. Nice to have for starting his business. It's cool how throughout the race he showed unexpected skills that challenged people's snap judgements.
  9. "I don't know anything about baseball, but I know he just stole the base." Oh, Pharrell...just when I thought I couldn't appreciate you more, you continually swat that gnat Adam DOWN. I enjoyed a number of the performances, so big improvement over the premiere. Although, now I mostly watch it "blind" like the judges b/c, yes, the packages are wearing thin with the sob stories, and, it sheds light on their turnarounds. I find myself impressed, but the moment I tune in, their voices suddenly are less impressive if I don't like how they look! Seemed like the reggae singer didn't care/know about Gwen's ska/dancehall roots. Gwen has a point about the importance of creating one's image and improving charisma onstage, and they shouldn't dismiss it as girly silliness.
  10. I, for one, was really excited to see Julianne back on the dance floor (where she never should have left) but, yes, it turned out to be underwhelming. Loved her costume, though! It was sensational. I also appreciate that she has an attainable (now that she's not dancing every day) gorgeous, healthy figure, and dance in general doesn't promote hiding your body, but showcasing it. As well, I'm enjoying her on the judging panel so far since she's on her best behaviour to thwart (Derek favouritism) controversy. Mark's audition was cute as was his reaction. He looks way better with this hair and I'm glad Sadie was saved. I knew Tavis' negativity wouldn't fare well. He didn't have time to be on the show so bye.
  11. The song is called Hella Good, not Keeps on Dancing. :)
  12. Pharrell is the real deal for this kind of show's purported purpose: artist development. I love his pitches (the first guy knew what was up) and how he was the only one who didn't turn around for that flat and shrieking Ariana Grande audition. I don't know how anyone could choose the recording artist now who is talking out of his/her ass, when they can go directly to the hitmaker the artists flock to. Although, if it's performance guidance they need, then yes the artist is a superior mentor for them. Agree with both points (although I first lost interest after S2 when Jamal & Juliette lost). And as a ND and Gwen fan, I love seeing her back in the limelight. Look forward to seeing Gavin mentor with her.
  13. I want Alfonso to get sympathy votes, but it would have been more effective if he hadn't outright asked for them. Ugh. Bethany, I can't stand what you and Derek symbolize: social media's nauseating dominance and Derek's right to it. Cheryl & Antonio were actually fun to watch this week. Very convincing and natural, like Julianne noted. His acting experience helps with that I think. Cheryl looked sensational, too, in that enviable dress! Peta is doing an impressive job with Tommy. She's really a versatile, fantastic choreographer. I love how much Jonathan loves being on the show and hope he gets the time to reach his potential. He deserves better. Curious how he'd perform with Sharna or Peta. What a fun number from Sadie & Mark! I like how Sadie is worried-looking/focused and quiet when she's not performing but then lights up and gives a ton of energy when it's time to perform. I can appreciate her genuine innocence/naivete in that she doesn't know that she needs to always be "on" and her every frown is going to be scrutinized and may cost her votes.
  14. Yu Tsai shitting all over Jay and those other clown predecessors in less than half a season. I also agree that he's hot. That tanned undercover nice bod with the sexy scruff? Mmmm! Matthew with his maturity and wisdom is the biggest and nicest surprise. Dayum! He really went from generic model to HOT. Shei had the hottest styling in the shoot and should rock that all day, every day. Ugh at Ben (& Adam) grasping at whatever. Too bad it's not ANWGWG.
  15. I ended up being happy for Mickey & Pete because I watched them earn everything fair and square, drama-free. They never resorted to doing anything underhanded or needing help--except for when Pete was never going to figure out the chemistry task and, ironically, was saved by Ryan (or was it Rob)? Talk about a defining moment in the race! I felt for Natalie when it seemed she was blaming herself a bit when she couldn't find the miniatures quickly enough and I think this ran through her head on the mat. I love how the memory task wasn't a joke and there was real suspense. Awesome season! I hope they continue to only get better.
  16. It really was! Incredibly sweet, too. That photo of them is also really nice.
  17. It's not 100% Tamar's delivery. Tamar just isn't respected the way Toni is. Tamar is the youngest and resented for being "the baby" that Toni and everyone spoiled; Toni is the eldest and respected as the superstar who broke them into the showbiz world.
  18. Korina echoed my thoughts on kids: "I can't even tell the ages apart." It all blends together for me when people are really young (or really old). I was totally with her this episode and liked what she made but wholeheartedly agreed Kini deserved the win. I love how Kini lets his talents/garments speak for themselves. I could totally have pictured an Amanda or Korina or definitely Sandyha asserting themselves on the runway to correct being discredited for his work but he just let it go, assured he'd get his recognition in time. And sure enough, he won the next two! I love his quiet confidence and I really hope he continues to thrive right till the end.
  19. I think Sukhi and Jinder benefitted from the Olympians wanting to maintain the standard of behaviour they were expected to uphold as Canadian ambassadors, and also how they're conditioned to behave as public figures courting sponsorships, etc. I was disappointed to see the clowny siblings go. It was a novelty to see how far they could go and what they could do extremely well or extremely dumbly next. The others are all perfectly fine, so I guess I'm rooting for my fellow team girl power! or team my hometown (Ryan & Rob).
  20. Oh, Carnie. I was surprised I wanted her to win this time, as opposed to last time when I couldn't stand her theatrics. I liked how she told Mark it hurt her feelings and then carried on as her hammy self anyway, but then made self-aware jokes about it till the end. Also, Laila is too laid back for me and makes me start to tune out.
  21. I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy the show with Julianne's judging conflict with her brother but I got over it by this results show. I didn't mind her styling both nights and she definitely has the figure to flaunt as much of it as she chooses. I just wish the show would choose which Hough they want: Derek or Julianne. For a fresh change, I choose the latter. It helps that Julianne is on her best behaviour to neutralize the obvious conflict rather than courting controversy as she did to get this gig. I loved Fresh Prince so it's great to see Alfonso but I'm wary I detected a bit of Gilles' verbal diarrhea/insincere speechifying from him. I'd love to see him in the finals if not the winner so I hope I'm wrong. I don't know how popular Sadie is but I was so glad she stayed. I hope she can amass enough votes to stay as long as her performances justify it. She was exciting to watch on the first week and I'd love to see Mark get another Mirror Ball. I have no prior knowledge of her and am used to tolerating religious nuts. She seems pretty benign by my standards so far.
  22. Curtis being a blundering idiot again: "Jen did you make this dish before? It's so well prepared. It almost seems like... Gail: "---like she knows how to cook?" Congrats Jen! I felt for her and got a kick out of her letting go of propriety and telling the judges off. After endless hours of sleep deprivation and waiting in the stew room with nothing but booze, yeah, I'd snap, too. And she's revealed she's just not that prim and proper in general which is a girl after my own heart. The news about Blais thrills me as I'm one of his remaining fans.
  23. An unpopular opinion but I was here for Romeo and love that he rightly called Adam a "busted ass frat boy" and read him as the non-commercial and non-fashion model that he is. A shame he did himself in since he was the freshest and most striking model there and I have no doubt his performance in his commercial would have been in the top if not the top. Yu Tsai accurately said he was better looking than some of the girls, and I also didn't mind his stupid gimmick. It was dumb entertainment, which is this entire show. I hope he thrives in Europe and Asia. Very annoying how Tyra wants to keep Adam for his perceived TV entertainment value. He's dull and painful to watch--everything sober and drunk Romeo said about him. I hope Lenox recovers cuz she's the only other model whose look I'm not bored with there.
  24. That sucked. Fade had a fade out when he's shown he's capable of much more and deserves to stay over the likes of less talented designers there, e.g., Amanda or that one who was already eliminated and has never done anything remarkable. Moreover, my favorite, Kini, gets his long overdue win but for a challenge where I didn't think he really deserved it. Way to go, Sean. He really rose to the occasion and exceeded the expectations of the challenge.
  25. Yay Tiffani. Never liked her until Duels and support anyone that ousts Isabella.
