What the sad truth is...that the most consistent caregiver for Kaiser has been creepy Uncle Dave. Certainly not Jenelle, nor Nathan....who couldn't be bothered to do anything that even resembles taking care of their son.
-
He shouldn't. Jenelle should. I was just making the point that she can receive support and not give any to her other child not in her care....so if Nathan pays $300, she should be paying at least that much to Barbara for Jace. Instead she pays nothing.
-
All that money should go directly to Barbara for Jace. Good to know that Jenelle can follow through with making Nathan pay support, but she doesn't do it herself.

Someone who at six already knows that her mother on many and most occasions can't do the basic things in order to take care of her and her sisters.

I think Kail could get herself a hosting job because of the MTV fame. A local gossip news kind of show would consider hiring her because then she has an automatic audience in order to draw fans to the show. How long that will last is questionable, but I don't think she'll have a hard time at first finding a job.

Or....at least if he was going to go ahead and put Simone in...he should have given his BFF a heads up about it. It doesn't sound like Thomas really held it against him, so he's less bitter than I would have been in the situation.
-
I get that and I agree. She also looks to not consistently get mental health treatment, so what does she know. But hey...at least we don't have to go see her Cate and Tyler style go see a horrible therapist in a cramped room with a copier. ;)

It can actually not be an excuse. When people are in incredibly stressful situations and therefore more likely to naturally react with manic...then it can mean that bipolar is not the most appropriate diagnosis. AKA...if the manic episode is due to the extreme stressor and without the stressing event the manic does not occur, then it isn't bipolar. It's tricky because just being manic can be stressing and can cause high periods of stress, so it can be hard to define which came first the chicken or the egg. Personally, I listened to how people described the manic, both when they were in it and when it passed. After time you heard key signs that it was situational or if it was a symptom of the disease. It's doubly hard when you are talking about people with substance abuse issues.

I directly stated in my above statement that I was a clinician, so the idea that you didn't know I was talking about myself is well....perplexing. When you meet with someone for a 15 minute assessment...when they leave, you need a diagnosis for the chart. So if you think that rushed diagnoses don't happen. Well, I don't know what to tell you. Some people....like myself...go to chart the least restrictive and stigmatizing diagnosis possible and focus on symptom management, but whatevs. Moving on. This has nothing to do with Teen Mom.
-
If in fact she was diagnosed as Bipolar...I have to wonder when that diagnosis happened. When people are using or in a naturally stressful or abusive environment, it is pretty common for a misdiagnosis. I don't like to diagnose people from watching them on tv since that is what I would consider irresponsible, but I do think she carries some of the diagnostic criteria from what we've witnessed, even during her clean time. And I spent most of my practice working with people with GAD...and I'd say it doesn't go away. It is managed (just as bipolar is), but it doesn't come and go and it is rarely situational.
-
I also think that just because someone got a diagnosis put on their chart once....doesn't mean it is still accurate or honestly, ever was. If you have 10 clinicians meet with a person and give a diagnosis....there can easily be a bunch of different ones. In reality, it's just a code to put on the chart so that you can bill insurance. When I was a MH counselor...I remember meeting with someone who by the time they came to me in the late teens....already had 10 different diagnoses. Some I agreed with and many I did not. It can also be difficult to get an accurate diagnosis when dealing with people with comorbid substance abuse disorders because some it is usually recommended to diagnose people with some sustained clean time, but that is rarely able to realistically be done. I generally didn't care about the diagnosis. I cared about the presenting issue and working on that.

Oh I agree that Jenelle makes poor choices when it comes to men/partners in her life. She is the one who puts Jace and Kaiser in danger IMO. I also think Dave's DV history is a huge red flag and problem. I just didn't like the drug addict...so probably a molester mentality.

Jessica is one of the largest girls there??? Really now. Or maybe it is that Johnny is one of the smaller guys and he can't handle lifting a totally normal sized girl for the challenge. He's such an ass. I hope to never see him on my tv again....which of course means I will continuously see him on my tv. MTV loves them some assholes. I miss CT. He seems done with the challenges other than the guest spot here or there to line his pockets....but dammit!

There really is no correlation between people who are addicts and have a history with substance abuse and those who molest children. That seems to be quite a jump there.

I think Kail and Javi should be done with each other and are super duper toxic. However, I also think it's probably not a great idea to make any major life decisions while one half of the marriage is deployed. It's a really stressful time on both sides and yadda yadda.

I'm in the minority because I think Chelsea and Cole are stinkin' cute and seem to be really lovey dovey with one another...and into one another. They both seem a wee bit immature, but I think they are a really good match.

Jenelle is the literal worst. She has the audacity to tell Barb that she is not there for her and has no love for her...while she is the person who has raised her child while she was too busy being too selfish putting poison up her arms??? And yep...the additional irony that she is SO upset that her mom can't be there for her, but can go to NJ...at the same time she dumps Kaiser off on other people every single day...and can't take Jace to his derby (the one time Barb has asked her for something)....because she has some partying to do at Spring Break. The Worst.

I am usually pretty tough on Leah...but color me surprised with the insight she had about wanting to think about how to respond to Miranda and not just escalating things. Adam. I can't even with him. Aubree the child had to bring up why he didn't come to the dance...instead of him bringing it up. She's more of a grown up than he is. And yep...ranch dressing on pizza is all the rage right now. I think it's gross, but I seem to be in the minority.

S31.E11: Southern Shame/S31.E12: They All Go Home

Nothing I said was wrong. At all. It was all on the show. Jenna is by your standard NOT educated. If Ceejai is uneducated...then Jenna is even more uneducated. Jenna tried to explain away her bad behavior by either claiming blacking out or blatant lying that things that happened...didn't happen. That happened. On the show. Jenna claimed to want to beat people's asses numerous times. On the show. Jenna claimed on the show that she wanted to shoot up people for disagreeing with her. On the show. And your bias against Ceejai could also be considered over the top. -

Well given your own definition....Jenna is clearly not educated. Unless that is another thing that only applies to black people. Do white people become educated just by being born, but black people only become educated by getting a 4 year degree? Jenna seems to only be highly educated on blaming bad behavior on blacking out and lying. I saw her doing a lot of that. She is also highly educated on stating she wants to beat people's asses and shoot people who disagree with her. I wonder if she could get college credit for any of those skills she is educated in. But that's a serious dodge. What is Jenna's education??? -

Wow. You can't even say that Jenna is racist. And your constant ability to highlight Ceejai's violence while downplaying Jenna's is staggering. It's as if it is worse when a black person is violent than when a white person is. -

It sounds like there won't be a reunion show...and that's too bad. It does seem like being out in the actual real world has taught Jenna some lessons and caused her to confront some of her racist ideas with the intense backlash she has received. Kailah said that she came to visit with her and that Jenna has done a lot of changing since the show ended. She said she wants to leave her small hometown and get out in the world. If that is true, I am glad Jenna is looking to change her hateful ideals. -
I never said that because someone is an addict that they don't have mental health problems. Saying I believe she is med seeking has nothing to do with the fact that most addicts have comorbid mental health disorders.
