  1. In most circumstances I would agree with this. However, anyone who supports or excuses Trump enough to have voted for him shares a value system I just can't respect or be comfortable with. He or she is just someone I would not want as a friend, Trump offended me to that degree. Luckily, I haven't had to unfriend anyone.
  2. Trump finds god every time he looks in a mirror.
  3. What I'm hoping he has lost forever is any kind of respect from the very people he wants it from. I hope he's a punch line for the rest of his life. I also hope that it becomes abundantly clear that he is no way near to being a billionaire, as that seems to be a particular bug up his behind. It continues to amaze me that people are willing to brush off or tolerate behavior from a 70 year old President Elect that they wouldn't tolerate in a six year old.
  4. As soon as they said that only the chefs losing their individual courses would face elimination, I knew it had to come down to a tie, because it wouldn't be fair to not include someone for consideration just because they hadn't shown their course yet. I like the one-on-one nature, but I'd rather it be a completely blind test. Everyone eats all the courses without knowing even which team made what, and vote on all courses before the results are revealed. I would think that would provide enough drama.
  5. Yes, I'm very sore and angry that HRC lost. But worse, as an American, I am ashamed of my country, that so many people consider DJT even remotely appropriate to represent us. That truthfulness is held in so little regard. His compulsive lying alone (Politifact put it at over 75%) should have been a deal-breaker. How is that justified?
  6. I'm convinced this was solely to hand the win to Anya, once they saw are awful her mini-collection was (the WORST in PR history, IMO). So they went to Mood, Anya picked out some prettier fabrics, and Nina actually said she deserved the win because of her "eye for fabrics."
  7. I think that improving the lives of lower-income children through better nutrition deserves your respect. Please name me ONE thing Mr. Trump has ever done to benefit anyone other than himself. Frankly, your list of Hillary Clinton's sins is the same old retreads for which there has never been any proof--only accusations. Bengazi? She's been cleared of any wrong doing, for what, the 10th time on that. The fact that her campaign manager's and friend's emails were hacked and pawed through by people desperately trying to find something to hang on her, and so little of consequence was found, shows her integrity, big time, to me. I DARE any other politician to provide a year's worth of emails for similar perusal. IMO, Donald Trump tried his best to undermine our country's greatest institutions--the things that have always set us apart 240 years ago: our free press and trust in our elections. He shamelessly tried to get people in this country to doubt both for his own aggrandizement. That is appalling. That is shameful. That is sedition. I cannot respect your vote. JMO.
  8. But isn't that what a runway show should be, something other than boring ready to wear? I don't want to see four walking department store catalogues. That said, I wish her stuff was more sophisticated. Of all her pieces during the season, I liked her red and yellow coats the best. They had the embellishments, but she edited better than what her mini-collection showed. It did go too arts and crafts, but at least it was something a little different, so a weak, yay, I guess.
  9. Even in a sea of noncohesiveness, Rik's stood out. One of his models looked like a robot (and the glasses didn't help). I was going to suggest a drinking game where you take a drink any time Erin says "like", but nobody's elbow could move that fast.
  10. Much as I appreciate Kurt Eichenwald's voice of sanity, he really needs to, I hate to say it, "dumb it down" a little for a clearer message to be heard, at least when being interviewed in person. I saw him on Laurence O'Donnell last night and came away thinking, "Huh?" regarding the tie to Turkey. And I knew a little about it going in. It must have been completely confusing to anyone who had not heard of it or read his Newsweek article. The message needs to be MUCH clearer to get through to the masses.
  11. Except that the tool he used were stacked sugar ice-cream cones. When you stack them, you get a column, with a tiny cone at the top. Not really a great idea to make a tree. I also thought is was kinda cheating to have something to anchor the cream puffs on other than themselves. I like all three remaining and would be okay with any of them winning. Jason and Cheryl I think did better overall, though, than Shawne.
  12. I'm pretty sure that no one else will be eliminated. Heidi said that four will "compete" (love how she is always careful to stress that instead of "show") at FW at least twice.
  13. Cornelius represents the worst kind of PR designer to me. He followed the How to Stay on PR Past Where Your Ability Warrants Playbook right down the line: 1. Be a bitch right off the bat. (He went in the negative column for me on the very first episode.) 2. Pick a fight with a judges' darling. 3. Act like a wounded martyr when getting blowback. Even in a season of not that great overall talent, Cornelius was less than mediocre, IMO. He should not have made the top 8, much less the top 5. YMMV.
  14. Thank the stars. Now I can say that I'd be happy with any of the final four winning. I hope there is not a predestined winner this year. One thing Tim said last year that I really disagreed with is that every designer has benefited from showing a mini-collection and getting feedback from the judges before FW. Sorry, but NO WAY. I believe the judges' use of this has been to engineer results the way they want them. Anya and Ashley, sure THEY benefited from the feedback, Anya by getting more money once they saw how awful her collection was as is, and Ashley by tearing down everyone else. Please do not let this year be a repeat of last season--in the guise of "helping", they encouraged everyone but Ashley to water down, replace, or tackify most of their collections (with the judges' condemnations ringing in their ears), so Ashley would be the only one to make a buzz. Yeah, I'm cynical, but I'd like a real competition this year. YMMV.
  15. Yes. This episode was nothing but recycled gags that stopped being funny the last time they were recycled. I didn't laugh once.
  16. Sigh. I really wish American baking shows would give them more time, even if a hour or so. Wouldn't everyone rather see some boxes that actually held together or were more thought out? Rather than umpteen failures due to running out of time? The ones that didn't actually fall apart were blah.
  17. The challenges this season are rather bizarre. First an imposter on a cupcake, and now a blinged-out Yule log (while giving ALL the bling to only one person). I'd much rather just let them make more traditional stuff and let them shine. Nothing is looking particularly good to eat, either, just messy.
  18. Jason's a hoot. "I gotta use this winder or I'll just have a big ole white blob." LMAO.
  19. It wasn't that Nathalia was called first that gave it away that there was going to be a double elimination, it was that she left the runway before Dexter. I don't that that ever happens--where the last person back to the stew room is safe but the one before was out. Dexter must have know what was up as soon as he was standing there alone. Pretty bad runway overall, IMO, with a very poorly defined or meaningful brief. I had hopes for this season, but not so much anymore. I bet the judges still want to see Erin's coats in the finale, so I'd bet final three are Erin, Laurence, and Rik. Cornelius better not make the finale or I'll be pissed. He still bugs me, not with the shade, but now with his sense of entitlement.
  20. Isn't something that you'd wear to work the opposite of editorial?
  21. I'm wondering about the tourism industry in total. Plenty of people around the world are disgusted with the USA right now.
  22. I actually like Erin's voluminous coats. This one looked unfinished, though. As for the dress, yikes. I was fully convinced she would be out because I thought it was the ugliest thing on the runway. It wasn't flattering at all--it looked like a lace wrap that was too small and couldn't close in the front. It hung past the coat hem in the back that was not an attractive look. Yeah, a mess.
  23. Before the election, I saw Trump as Hitler. I am a Trump dissenter who took him both literally and seriously. Now I no longer see him at Hitler, I see him as... a nothing. By that I mean, to me he seems to be a completely empty shell, with no soul. No convictions of right or wrong beyond equating right with anything that helps win a game. I no longer think he's Hitler, so, yay I guess? I don't get why he doesn't SAY something to the protesters. Denouncing the KKK would certainly give him more gains in his next big game, "Approval Ratings." I've decided the best response to any type of Crooked Hillary comments is to just ask them for specifics. And wait for the baffled looks to appear when I don't accept, "Well, Trump said she is."
  24. I guess I'm still not being clear. There are people who voted for Trump who are offended by those of us who consider them racist for being able to vote for Trump in spite of the racist things he's said and done. For those Trump voters: Are you okay with what he said to the NYT today, that he didn't go too far because "I won", or do you think he owes the country an apology?
  25. Ok. Let's say I believe Trump's core is not racist, that that is just the fringe, do you think he owes the country an apology for his rhetoric? I really would like a Trump voter to answer that question.
