S10.E20: Reunion Part 1
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Remember this is the same woman who when asked if she owed Alexis an apology for calling her Jesus Jugs, she shrugged and said she apologized to Jesus. No amount of holy water is going to make her see that she was a shitty person to Alexis. And she certainly isn't going to apologize to Alexis for the shitty behavior. -
S10.E20: Reunion Part 1
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
It was weird to me that everyone came down on Vicki for the comments to the Sushi girl. At the time, they all laughed it off as "classic Vicki" but now it is just one more awful thing that Vicki did. It always strikes me as so odd when things are fine while filming and no one bats an eye, but when the reunion rolls around, it was this hugely offensive thing that must be atoned for. It reminds me of the crap between Luann and Carole on New York. Luann was fine with Carole during filming, even hanging out with her once filming wrapped, but once the episodes started airing suddenly they were at war. -

RIght?! Let's not forget that moment when Eddie said something flirtatious to Vicki and Tamra responded by putting Brooks's hand on her boob. Overreaction is par for the course with Tamra. -
Tamra Judge: Naked Wasted
MatildaMoody replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Yeah, I don't remember Vicki being involved either. I think she gave her an eye roll when Tamra told her the plan. I believe both Lynn and Jeanna each tried to get Gretchen to leave with them. I also remember that was the episode that Brian Malarky of Top Chef catered the dinner. It was supposed to be a 7 course meal so Tamra could show off her etiquette lessons (BWAH!). It was also when Vicki made one of her famous gagging noises because there was seafood on the menu. One other thing about that episode that I remember was Vicki trying to get her mom to say "I love you" to her on camera. At the time it was pretty funny because Vicki was all "I love you" and her mom was all "thank you," Now, it actually seems pretty sad. ETA: I was doing some research trying to see if I could find a recap of Naked Wasted to refresh my memory and came across a blog post that Gretchen had up on her personal site. She took it down after Tamra asked her to when they became friends, but someone grabbed it before she removed it. From Starcasm: I did not know that Tamra went as far as accusing Gretchen of asking for a threesome. The very idea gives me the shudders. -
Tamra Judge: Naked Wasted
MatildaMoody replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I think some divides are permanent (the Gretchen/Tamra divide was even when they tried to take a break from it. The Heather/Alexis divide is). But, Vicki and Tamra's aren't. If they decide to bring Vicki back next year, Tamra will go back to her. She won't be able to help herself because she isn't going to be able to keep Shannon in the dark about her true nature for more than a full season. There is only so much she can actually film doing with Heather because while Heather tolerates their friendship, they have nothing in common and Tamra was quick to turn on her until Vicki told her she would lose if she went against Heather. Mehgan had already grated on Tamra's nerves with the stepmom stuff, but Tamra won't go against her unless Jim divorces her. It would be the same as going against Heather - Tamra understands power dynamics. I think if Vicki had been with Tamra on taking down Heather, Tamra would not have let it drop. Tamra will eventually realize that Vicki is the only one on the show who has ever treated her as an equal when it comes to their places on the show. -
You know, I think there are a few things going on with the Lyme Disease issue. I think, more than anything else that it is Yolanda's use of the term "chronic" that is causing the majority of the confusion. Doctor's still don't recognize a condition as "Chronic Lyme Disease," they only recognize Lyme Disease. I think when Yolanda said that even some of her family members were questioning her illness, it was most likely that they were questioning the chronic part. So now, Yolanda is saying that her two youngest children also have Chronic Lyme Disease, not Lyme Disease, Chronic Lyme Disease. It is entirely feasible that while Yolanda may have contracted Lyme Disease, it is also just as feasible that her leaky implants, the onset of menopause, and whatever viral infection she found out she contracted as a child were the contributing factors to the Chronic part of the "diagnosis". I put diagnosis in quotes because I don't think a Western doctor diagnosed it as chronic. I suspect it was a self diagnosis and that she got some of the many other practitioners and quacks to confirm so that they could sell her different treatments. Is it possible that 3 people from the same home all contracted Lyme Disease? I don't know. But considering the lemon orchards, the large amounts wooded property to roam, the horse riding through woods, it isn't that far fetched. But, I think in Yolanda's mind Chronic Lyme Disease is much more awe inspiring and moving than Lyme Disease. Now that people know about the leaky implants and how they affected her, if she starts to show major improvement, she is no longer a spokesperson for Chronic Lyme Disease and finding a cure. So, why not admit that her children also have Chronic Lyme Disease? Of course, she is forgetting that we have seen how active her kids are and how they have shown no signs of debilitation. Both Bella and Anwar are/were athletes. Anwar is able to carry his mother around and Bella is able to travel, model and be seen with little sign of physical debilitation. So, I don't think they were suffering silently so that their mother could go on this journey. I doubt that if it was a truly chronic condition either of them would have been cleared to play sports. But, if they had both been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and had been treated with the standard rounds of antibiotics, it most likely wouldn't have slowed them down.

Tamra Judge: Naked Wasted
MatildaMoody replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Tamra never apologized for naked wasted - Gretchen simply forgave her for it because she wanted to get on Tamra's good side. She never apologized for her treatment of Alexis, she just said "let's be civil" but that was only while she was trying to redeem herself for her wedding spinoff - pretty much why she tried to befriend Gretchen, until she couldn't allow herself to pretend to be nice to her anymore. She never apologized or even really owned up to the majority of nasty things that she has done over the years - except when it came to Vicki. Right now the inteweb is abuzz because Tamra is claiming that she is done with Vicki. She is saying that she supported Vicki even after the reunion until the WWHL episode where Vicki said no one was there for her. And now that Vicki said that, she is done and she is claiming that she didn't tell Vicki about David's affair until after the baptism. I don't buy that for a second. Sure, Vicki is just as much a liar as Tamra is, but Tamra's MO is to spread the gossip the second she has a chance. I totally believe Tamra told Vicki the same day that Shannon confirmed the affair to Heather and Tamra. I think Tamra was hedging her bets to see who would come out on top when it was all said and done, and is only NOW deciding to side with Shannon (although, Shannon's crazy periscope rant may have been enough to scare Tamra into rethinking her loyalty). Consider the source indeed. Think of how many truly nasty falling outs Tamra and Vicki have had over the seasons only to come back to each other. Does she really expect us to believe that Vicki being all dramatic and saying "no one was there for me" was enough for Tamra to just drop her, considering all of the horrible things they have done to each other over the years? After all of the lovey dovey antics the two had on Twitter and WWHL prior to Vicki's last appearance? Nope. Tamra has truly never changed her spots. It's why she has lasted as long as she has. And if they have truly succeeded in driving Vicki off the show, she will now have Vicki's coveted spot as the OG, and there will be NO ONE left on the show who is willing to call her out. Maybe Shannon would down the line once she realizes that every one was right and she truly did drink the Tamra kool aid (which is probably also why Tamra has thrown her dice in with Shannon for now). Tamra may not be intelligent, but she has manipulation skills that go beyond being simply street smart and to think that she has 4 children is a truly scary thought. -
S10.E19: Baptism By Fire
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Again, I have never said or intimated that she should pretend it never happened. I only think that Shannon should not have included her children if they wanted to work this out on television. It was short sighted and she continues to not see that there was something inherently harmful to her girls by doing including them in something this private so publicly. -

MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I have agreed with you about the kids not having an on camera conversation about the affair. All I am saying is that Shannon involved her kids in a story line about her husband's affair, on camera. She did it without considering how the kids would be affected by this being played and discussed for years on television. And her last set of interviews have suggested that she doesn't think she did anything wrong by doing so. Shannon has every right to feel however she wants about the cheating. David can leave or stay and take whatever happens as a consequence. Shannon needs to accept the consequence of subjecting her children to this being played out on national television. How Shannon treats David - whether she is punishing him, or just trying to deal with it on camera - that is on Shannon. Subjecting her kids to her reactions and treatments with a major spotlight (Television) on it, is something that Shannon needs to own. Nothing that I am saying means i believe that Shannon should not have said anything. I just think that her kids should not have been involved in any of it, especially any part that played out on television. -

Maybe not, but having David apologize to the kids for leaving and then telling the audience that it was her daughter that found the text messages from the mistress, as well as the other awkward scenes with her and David definitely involved them in the affair business on camera. The kids, as well as their friends and friends' parents all witnessed these inappropriate moments strung together with Shannon discussing her betrayal. That is what I mean when I say she involved her kids in this affair story line business. -

MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Oh, I definitely agree that she wanted to keep the marriage. I also believed her when she said that she would be able to view things from the outside. I truly believed everything Shannon said last season. And thought it was shitty of Tamra to say that Shannon thought her marriage troubles would make great television. But, watching Shannon this season and seeing how even now she doesn't see that there was anything wrong with including her kids in this affair business on camera, I can't help but think that she really and truly thought the audience would be entertained by this and thus be great for ratings. I can't think of any other reason for her to put her kids through this. I just hate that Tamra's words which I had no problem discrediting last year are coming back to haunt when I think about how Shannon's story played out this year. And, I think it is very weird that Shannon buddies with Tamra knowing that Tamra said that about her last year - as well as all of the other stuff that Tamra did to her last year. ETA: I think this is a testament just how good Tamra is at not only manipulation but planting little seeds of doubt that will stay with not just the women on the show, but also the audience. -

MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Yes it is Tamra, so I initially didn't believe her at all. But certain things Shannon has done this season make me think that while she may have been exaggerating, she wasn't exactly lying about Shannon wanting her marriage issues on the show - for ratings. I don't know. I just hate when Tamra says something that seems to be bitchy defense techniques only to have there actually be a grain of truth in it. I like knowing that up is up, the sky is blue, and Tamra lies. -
S10.E19: Baptism By Fire
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I am very confused by Shannon. I hate to say this but I think I may actually believe something Tamra said about her last year. I know! The world is definitely about to end if I believe anything Tamra says. But, last year, I remember Tamra saying that Shannon was only pretending to be upset about the gossip about her marriage. That once the cameras were off the sadness went away and Shannon would talk about what great TV it was. She said that Shannon even used the example of Tamra asking Simon for a divorce on camera and how marital problems seem to play really well on this show. Watching Shannon pimp out the state of her marriage this season has be thinking that maybe, just maybe Tamra wasn't lying about that. I can't remember if Tamra said this in an interview or one of her blogs, but does anyone else remember that? -

Yes, Ryan Brianna and Tamra were the ones on the show. The way I understood it though was that he was also hearing it from fans of the show as well and didn't want to be a part of it anymore. I suspect that is the real reason he broke up with Vicki. He didn't want to do the show, agreed to do it so she could keep her job, Mehgan started her crap based on Tamra's psychic and by the time they were done with filming, he was just over it and Vicki. -

Yes. that is correct. Vicki didn't want to include Brooks in filming at all. Brooks didn't want to film either - he had already taken too much of a beating over previous seasons. Andy threatened her Orange if she didn't include him. So, Vicki convinced Brooks to film this season. This is something that Andy has confirmed more than once. -

Shannon and Tamra both said that the "conversation" went on for much much longer than we were shown. Of course they couched it in "we really care about Brooks and were concerned about his altering his treatment." Tamra used it to back up the claim that something else was going on. Shannon used it to talk about how confused she was and how she really felt it was important to talk to Vicki about what was said after they left. Mehgan also implied that it went on for a long time because she felt that Brooks wasn't being consistent in his answers. -

More than one of the women said the questioning went on for more than an hour in their blogs. Being questioned for that long about my illness and my treatment would definitely make me feel like I was being grilled, even if it was out of "caring." There is just something very invasive about it and it would put me on the defensive after the first couple of questions. Hell, a single person asking me about why me and my husband don't have children will immediately put me on the defensive. If I had a group of women questioning my medical decisions? I would totally feel like I was being grilled. -

They SHOULDN'T be drinking, but that doesn't mean that they don't. I can list members of my family that have gone through chemo and saw no problem with having drinks out with friends or at a party. People are people that way. Many of us just don't follow the things our doctors tell us to do. We didn't see him get grilled but several of the women admitted that the questioning went on for well over an hour. I think most people would feel like they are being grilled after being questioned for that long. -

I don't think anyone thinks it's fine. I think it's just the cost of dealing with human beings. People with illnesses and medical issues do things they shouldn't all the time. I know diabetics who drink alcohol even though they know they shouldn't. I know a person who was diagnosed with lung cancer who never even tried to quit smoking. My older neighbor has been diagnosed with melanoma on 4 different occasions, and he still refuses to wear sunblock or even a hat when he works in his garden. None of those things are fine, it's just what people do. -

Tracking down his ex to get her to spill info about Brooks, especially since she doesn't know him or the ex seems awfully invasive to me. I made this point a while back. Monty is stage 4, and has not slowed down his partying or his couch surfing. Even Leanne was still traveling and she was actually doing chemo. Based on what Megan is saying, both of those cancer diagnoses are questionable because people with cancer don't travel or party. -

The Heather on WWHL reminds me of the same Heather that was so sure that she was going to come out on top last year that her blogs were full of smug bitchiness towards Shannon and David. She is in that same head space where she is so sure the audience is going to side with her that she doesn't even realize how off putting she is coming across. She is still in the OC bubble of Tamra and Mehgan and their nonsense that she can't see how tacky it is in the normal course of things to accuse someone of faking cancer. Or how tacky it is that she, as a doctor's wife would lecture her friend Vicki to show her boyfriend's medical records as proof of an illness. It's that same smugness she had towards Shannon and David all over again. It's the same smugness she had towards Alexis all over again. Essentially, this is the real Heather. Full disclosure, I have not liked Heather since she came on the show. She has always come across as phony and bitchy to me. I have never seen her as a diplomat or a voice of reason. So, her behavior on WWHL is no surprise to me. She is so caught up in what she perceives the audience believes that she can't be bothered to read the room in real time. -
S10.E17: Broken Records
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I do. Look at the way Vicki behaved when Brianna had her cancer scare. It was all about her and when it wasn't she really wasn't that interested. She had two on camera conversations with Brianna about it and in the first one she kept telling Brianna not to cry because it was upsetting to her. In the other she was grilling Brianna about whether or not Vicki should stay with her during or after her procedure because she had to get back to work, but didn't want to leave Brianna if B needed her. Brianna had to actually tell Vicki that this wasn't about her. Vicki is a true narcissist. The only time she seemed interested in what Brianna was going through was when she could have a "deep" conversation on camera with her, or when it was something she could relay to others for their sympathy. -

But, this entire does he or doesn't he have cancer IS manufactured drama. Mehgan stalking Brooks. Heather, a doctor's wife, suggesting that a woman share her boyfriend's medical records with a bunch of people that barely know him? Tamra bringing in a psychic and asking for information about someone who isn't there? All of those things were manufactured for the sake of drama and confrontation. It doesn't matter how they reacted or overreacted, the fact that this has been going on as long as it has disproves Heather's comments about things being "real, raw, and disturbing." I mean sure, if she means that it is real shitty that these women would go at their supposed friend in this way. And if raw refers to just how totally beat up Vicki seems to be by all of this coming from her coworkers/friends, then yes. And if disturbing means that these women have convinced 66% of WWHL's viewing audience that they have every right to demand a total stranger share his medical records with the public, then sure she is correct; that is some totally disturbing shit right there. ETA: I NEVER liked Heather from the beginning and her treatment of Shannon last year made me dislike her even more. So, maybe that is why I think she needs to take a seat and a huge drink of Shut the hell up from an ice cold glass of nobody cares. -

So Heather says that the audience isn't stupid and then goes on to treat us as though we are stupid by denying that the drama is manufactured? Did she forget that her good buddy Tamra admitted that it is her job to create drama on WWHL? What about Heather's own story line revolving around her "marital problems" with Terry, or even Chairgate with Shannon? We are supposed to believe all of that was organic and raw and real? Heather and Megan both need to share a nice big glass of Shut the HELL up. -
Shannon Beador: Magic Crystals and Nine Lemons
MatildaMoody replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I'm confused. I responded to a post about everyone knowing about the affair and keeping it to themselves, not about the details outlined in the Daily Mail. Also, why would anyone demand a retraction from the Daily Mail? That would make the publication seem more than it actually is. Even in Housewives land, they know better than to demand a retraction. They either ignore it, make a joke of it, or give their own interview. Since this woman isn't a housewife, why would she do any of those things? Why would she even acknowledge it? I do agree that if Shannon and the Mistresses paths cross, they would keep walking. I don't think that either of them would want a scene. But, it doesn't change Shannon being very careful to keep the name to herself. I personally believe that Shannon did that to protect herself and her family.
