  1. This is mostly an off topic story. One of my favorite old roommate’s was from Cyprus (Greek side). She started college in the US at 16. Kinda funny. It was early days of Internet and I met her on a “chat” room looking for a new roommate, when I was looking for a new house (I had to find a place that would accept my house rabbit - she had a cat). When I spoke to her I thought she was British (turns out she went to the British International school in Cyprus). When I first met her - I went you’re Greek (I worked in a NY greek diner during summers in college), and very young. She wasn’t even US legal to drink. One of my best roommates ever. I brought her along when I bought my first house. Lived with me for years (she basically moved in full time with her now husband shortly - but didn’t want her parents to know). She seemed far better educated than me. Kicked my ass in Scrabble everytime. This is where it really veers off topic - but also kinda funny. My other favorite was an active Australian Member of Parliament (honest to Sweet Baby Jesus), who was taking classes at Georgetown Law. He liked to read the Financial Times every night, while drinking gin in my dining room and was great at killing rats with a shovel (early 2000’s Capitol Hill). Again sorry so off topic - his name is Andrew Thomson. Doubt he’d mind at this point. Unfortunately, he was actually scheduled to fly back to Australia on Sept 11th to vote. He was frantic and I told him it wasn’t going to happen (after I walked home from downtown). Turned out the PM from Australia was actually in DC and he managed to beg a ride back (though Andrew later told me they were far from friendly). My friend from Bloomberg later told me it was kinda a big deal there and he had to resign. Again sorry so off topic. But it’s a good story. I miss Andrew. Luckily I don’t have rats to kill anymore. Mr. DC wouldn’t be up to it.
  2. Personally - I think it’s fucking hysterical.
  3. Absolutely. In the 80’s we called Billy a blacksmith. I just wanted to differentiate your friend with UBT’s current BS.
  4. You’re not missing much (even with edibles). IMO - the last couple Seasons sucked compared to the earlier ones. Which IMO was one of the best series on TV. Hysterical.
  5. I think that’s a little different (former serious horse person😢). That’s a Farrier and you need to do an apprenticeship (Billy the farrier at my barn was awesome and talkative). Thankfully no serious horse owner would let David within miles of their horses. I had a mare that was pretty nasty though. I was the only one she loved. I probably could have convinced her to bite and kick the fuck out of his ass. Ah - lost opportunities...
  6. Probably not relevant. I finally capitulated and watching reruns of Oz with my husband (was one of his favorite shows). They would totally laugh at him. After they shanked him.
  7. I’ll give Kyle this. At least she’s sending/sent her kids to college. The rest (I’m looking at you Rinna/Grammer) think they’re going to be the next Hadid sisters. I’ve always wondered if the Hadid’s would have been as successful without Yolanda being on the show. They are beautiful model material - but IMO Mohammad’s had as much plastic surgery as any of the housewives.
  8. Which of course will be fake knockoffs. Like the rest of her...
  9. I have no sympathy for Avery. There’s something called Google now. Even without ISIS, current Assad is probably as big a murderous asshole like his father. Stalin would be proud.
  10. If she wasn’t so lazy that could be an actual source of income for her. She’s what now - 25? and hasn’t had an actual job in years (Starbucks won’t have her back?). You’d think she’d take this opportunity to take some online courses at least to further her education. But all she can think of is getting impregnated by Azan and fantasizing about their new life together, where he has a well paying job and they live happily ever after. Nicole - pick up the Clue Phone. It’s not going to happen.
  11. I was always curious about this (not the nonsense “stealing the house thing” - which was as above an awesome moment in RH history). Kim was married to some very rich men. How come she got no money?
  12. Wow. Somebody’s watching this show even if it ain’t us. Kudos to ya’ll that admit it! Is it like the last Presidential election where people were apparently too embarrassed they were going to vote for Trump in the phone polls (honestly no shade, politics implied)? https://starcasm.net/family-chantel-premiere-90-day-fiance-record-other-way-ratings-soar/ Mr. DC asked if we would watch and I said no way. He thinks she’s hot and likes her tits (he’s on “they’re natural” side of the debate). For reference - he also might leave me if Courtney Act came calling. IMO - Matt Sharp is obviously smarter than us. Andy Cohen is paying those RH bitches a lot more money for less ratings - while he pays them peanuts.
  13. So now there’s a “store” again and she did give him $6K? And he still has it? 😂 Kinda hard to keep up with her constantly changing stories. Probably cause Robalee was sitting next to her lying ass and knew there was absolutely $6K Nicole no longer had. I’m guessing the “store” and “product” they now have to “buy” is her excuse to keep sending Azan money. As much as my cold, dark heart enjoys watching her smug ass make a fool out of herself on national TV - Sharp really should put an end to this and not have her on the show anymore. Azan’s harvesting of the American dollar is starting to piss me off.
  14. I agree this stupid bitch is only looking for attention. I’m also old and perpetually skeptical.
  15. I’m officially the worst person in the world. Watching her plan to move to Syria like it wasn’t anything more than a potentially exciting Disneyworld vacation (thanks to whoever poster came up with that gem), I turned to Mr. DC and said “maybe ISIS will make a comeback”. See officially maybe worst person in the world. But IMO, she’s beyond ridiculous. He’s from Aleppo for Sweet Baby Allah’s sake. I get she’s only 19, but IMO her willful ignorance is disgusting and insulting when so many are suffering terribly there. I can’t see her working to help that situation. She decided to be a Muslim six months ago. Does she attend a local Mosque and get spiritual guidance from anywhere besides the Internet? Has she read or attended any study classes on the Koran? Or just covered her hair and bought a rug that she “prays” on when somebody is watching.
  16. I ruptured my patellar tendon six months ago (ouch). It’s been a long road. Nowhere near back to normal. I was trying to show Mr. DC my improved “running” skills the other day (I’ll be the first one gone when the zombie apocalypse hits). He told me I looked like Paul (double ouch). Paul running will never not be funny. TLC apparently thinks so too since they played that one scene about six times. And Mr. DC replayed it about another six times.
  17. Cause I’m a loser with nothing better to do on a Saturday night. And I’m now curious. I ran a few basic numbers. I’ll try not bore anybody with details. I figured that, if there was a $26M construction loan (saw that somewhere here? No clue if it’s true) and a 60% initial loan, the profit on this deal was about $8.6M. The buyer would get a promote for structuring the deal (also likely hefty fees for project management, etc. included in the construction loan), so I’m generously saying $8M to the equity partners. I assumed six equity partners (more?) would have each contributed $2.16M. After their capital was returned - that would be a profit of $1.33M each. 62% return. Not bad for nine months. I’m not including capital gains. I’m long-term, institutional investor’s and we don’t pay that at the property level. Not sure what they do. Even more boring - from useful law firm loan info above. My old, very large, labor-union pension fund advisor would never invest in DC. They didn’t like law firm credit. Why you ask? Cause they really have none (LLC’s and “rainmakers”). They finally succumbed at the wrong time (built 2004). Lead tenant, and sure enough those fuckers bailed out two years in, and they were left with nothing but a $2M letter of credit (ran to bank to cash at first opportunity), 80,000 sf of space with a $10M build-out that was now useless (big tenants like to design their own space - why not Landlord is paying for it). It also happened to be the first semi-large law firm implosion in years (ouch). So long story short? Law firm loans sound like some real risky shit. I’ll stick to real estate. Maybe for propriety’s sake - they should give up the private jets and maybe one member of the glam squad. Since her husband doesn’t appear on the show, I’m not as inclined to dig into his shit.
  18. Absolutely. I’ll bring the bourbon and FairyDusted (pretty sure he/she won’t mind the inclusion) will bring the gummies (I’m a new convert). I’ve actually been pretty sober re previous postings on this subject.
  19. Kyle’s a real high faultin’ bitch. I haven’t watched in awhile - but did she really call somebody Monty from Magootsville or something when questioned about the suit on the Reunion? So basically she thinks everybody who watches this show (the show that gave her and her husband a platform to launch their new private yacht vacation/Smokey Robinson’s old house lifestyle) is some sort of small town rube that couldn’t possibly understand? Nice. She’s a real cunt - and I’m not going to apologize for saying that. Even Mauricio’s insurance company thinks he’s shady. They’re included in the suit for $3M of the $8M. The max his policy will pay out I assume. They sued him to not pay his legal bills. He sued back that they were taking the Seller’s side (duh - I would too), and nothing should be decided until the lawsuit was actually settled and he was proven of wrongdoing. They both withdrew the suits when they agreed they would each pay their own legal bills. It wasn’t “dismissed” as reported in some places. Speaking of other lawsuits “that shall not be mentioned” on the show. Why the fuck did Erica’s husband need a $15M loan to to fund his supposedly highly successful law firm’s operations to begin with? I’m not familiar enough with this subject to know how common that is. He apparently still owes them a good deal money despite Erica’s claim of “apologies”. At least Dumb Dorit (wasn’t that a character on Match Game in the 70’s?), is smart enough to say it’s a legal issue and she can’t talk about it.
  20. Thanks! I’m afraid I sound long winded at times explaining very uninteresting real estate minutiae, but I’ve always taken my fiduciary duty very seriously. Even if I was making millions a year (I’m not - I’m a perpetually underpaid, rare female in Acquisitions). So if true this kinda pisses me off.
  21. If Mr. O whoever was a signatory on the listing agreement Mauricio had a fiduciary duty to him. It sounds like he was, otherwise I assume the case would have been dismissed. The whole thing sounds tre shady to me. I’m in real estate (not residential), I don’t have a license though. I’m considered a Principal and don’t get paid on commission. I do have a Masters Degree in RE (yes - that actually exists) from Johns Hopkins. But I still have a fiduciary duty to our clients (institutional investors). So sorry if below is long. I read the complaint - and even if there was already an executed purchase and sale agreement (PSA), it sounds like that contract could have been invalidated if Mauricio received a higher offer. He just decided unilaterally not to mention it. According to the complaint, the Buyer never put down the $1M earnest money deposit required in the PSA or any deposit at all cause Mauricio advised them it was OK. It’s really not. That’s some shady shit right there. It was also an “all cash” offer in the PSA, but the Buyer actually needed to round up investors and also needed a loan to purchase the property. They apparently also extended the due diligence period several times on Mauricio’s advice (so the Buyer could get his investors/loan tied up I assume). The property could have actually fallen out of contract a few times before they had the numerous extension addendums signed. There was also a $1M credit for repairs that Mauricio advised the Seller to accept. If there was a deposit like their should have been and due diligence expired when it originally should have, the Seller could have kept the $1M deposit and moved on to another offer. What you really really don’t do - is inform your client the day before closing that you’re an investor in the property. Maybe Mauricio decided since the guy was a crook of the highest degree (don’t get me started on the Riggs Bank scandal - our former hometown bank!), nobody would care what he did. I understand why DOJ was involved (basically Riggs was keeping secret accounts for every criminal/tinpot dictator out there), but not why they received millions of dollars from the sale. The remainder of the money went to charities in Equatorial Guinea. So Mauricio potentially fucked them out of $8M. That goes a long way in central Africa. They’re only suing for the amount of the higher offer. But Kyle really needed that new Rolex! If the complaint turns out to be true IMO, he should get his license revoked. I know people who’ve been fired (like me - no license) for far less.
  22. Seriously. As somebody who likely drinks way too much bourbon myself - I cringed watching him do that. I’d have gagged way before 1/4 way through. He downed it like it was water. I have my doubts hardcore Russian’s in the Gulag, given a bottle of vodka and 60 seconds could have done that. Scary. And at least I’m a fairly happy drunk. Ask Uber.
  23. Her new story is there was never $6K that she gave him. They made it all up for the “show”. Sure Jan. I don’t think she’s lost any weight either. To me it looks like she just found a more flattering outfit and hairstyle. I was surprised at how nice the rest of the cast was to her. I think they probably feel sorry for her and were too busy hating on Coltie. I guess they didn’t show the full exchanges he had with the rest of the cast - apparently he was being a real asshole - it just wasn’t Chantel.
