Ray is going to be distressed by Karen being in jail but he also might actually be relieved because he doesn't have to cover up for her anymore and he's going to have at least 4 months where he doesn't have to worry about any phone calls from the police or ambulance about Karen. It's all out in the open now. He might put his foot down about her returning to RHOP too since she claimed the pressure of providing "responsible leadership to the cast" led her to drink and we know these shows have lots of alcohol available. drivethroo March 5 Share March 5 (edited) Candiace has always hung out with the cast members off camera. That's why she had such a problem with Robyn, because they had hung out together off camera and Candiace thought she was more friends with Robyn than she actually was. She's still friendly with Askale, she's invited Jacqueline to several of her parties, she's talked with Nneka about her motherhood journey. Candiace is probably cool with Mia BECAUSE she's cool with Jacqueline. I wouldn't read anything into this; Gizelle and the production company are still there. I can't see Candiace coming back unless there's a very hefty payday involved or Gizelle is fired from the show and neither event will be happening. The cast member who will be returning will be Robyn. The article basically is like "BRAVO and the show doesn't know what to do without Karen so they're going to wait a while and delay filming until they see what happens." Either Karen's PR is putting this out to save her spot on the show or production actually is going to delay filming until Karen resolves her situation. Remember, Karen has about a little under 2 weeks to file an appeal and she may get out sooner than a year due to good behavior. On the other hand, the reunion episodes flowed well without Karen's presence and after Mia left. I think the cast remaining on the sofas at the end of the reunion should be the Season 10 cast. Add a new housewife and a returning "friend" and fire up the cameras. In my opinion, BRAVO would be unwise to bring back a 4x drunk driver with current alcohol and drug use issues who blamed the show for her escalation in the use of those substances. Might as well bring Katie back if they're going to bring Karen back. The most boring part of last season was trying to get Karen to admit to her drunk driving. Four DUIs is horrific, and she had some nerve to blame the show. However, I do see her as an anchor. She's an OG, and she's the funniest cast member imo. She's part of so many of the most memorable scenes. A lot of fans thought Lisa Vanderpump made BH. I enjoyed her, but I didn't think she was the show. RHOP does have other entertaining cast members, but Karen is responsible for a huge part of its success imo. lasu March 15 Share March 15 I think Karen isn't as important as *she* thinks she is, but I think if they are delaying, it's more because they want to catch the immediate aftermath of her release of prison. If that's what they are hoping for, it makes sense to delay a month or two to see if it looks like she will be out in under 6 months. If it's going to be a year, they could do two back to back seasons and film her release. I recently watched an episode where Gizelle blamed Candiace for getting death threats and says that Candiace crossed a line that they can't get over. Gizelle is the one who crossed the line when she said disgusting things about Candiace's husband. I don't doubt that Gizelle's gotten death threats. There are lots of crazies out there, and many reality stars say they get them. But I don't think it's fair to blame that or the demise of the friendship on Candiace. Between Gizelle, Ashley, and seasons ago Monique, Candiace has gone through a lot as a Housewife. Fighting is nothing new on Housewives, but I do think the altercation in season 5 was particular bad, and despite her slick mouth rep, Candiace really didn't even provoke it. Gossip about husbands is not new. They gossiped about Mauricio for many years on BH. But for a cast member the Bassetts were kind to and considered a friend to suggest he was a "sneaky link" who was trying to see if she was down to hook up, that he assaulted a friend of Ashley's, that he messaged Ashley inappropriately, it was especially gross when it's so clear they took innocent things (or nothing) to turn into a storyline. I don't blame Candiace if she wants nothing to do with these people. She has a lot going for her, and she will be fine without the show. I could see Gizelle using Candiace as a scapegoat. I also got the impression Ashley was jealous of Candiace. Candiace was a lot more fortunate when it came to her parents and childhood. Gizelle reminds me of Tamra Judage.
