Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion

Their ratings are better than OK. The show has been #1 for years. The suits at ABC syndication are most likely thrilled that the show successfully transitioned from MegaStar Ryan to Husband Mark.  It's show business and as long as the show makes gobs and gobs of money, the show will continue.  One easy way to reduce expenses is to keep the studio dark and unused 40% of the time.  The View went back to pre-taping the Friday and Weekend versions on Thursdays to reduce their studio costs by 20%.

Yes, that’s probably true. If the show wasn’t making money it wouldn’t be on the air. Also, today’s show was about the last broadcast from the current studio. So my theory was right. It was a timed vacation in theory. I guess they will return on Monday from the new studio in SoHo.

Just caught some of the Palm Springs repeat today and forgot about how ridiculous Kellllmeeeee looked with that crazy lip liner hack she was so enamored with.

I don't know how they let her walk out like that but then again, they let her walk out with her grandmother's drapes sewn together to make her sack dress so I guess everyone is afraid to tell the little one, 'no, that's not a good look.'

Also have to comment on Jerry O'Connell and what a goofball he is.  And seriously, if he gets anymore filler in his cheeks....

A rep for ABC confirmed to PEOPLE that, starting Monday, April 7, "Kelly, Mark, Gelman, Deja and the whole Live crew will showcase the inside of Disney’s gorgeous, brand-new downtown headquarters as they present the show from the sprawling 10th floor in front of a live audience."

Ripa and Consuelos will host the show from the temporary space until Monday, April 14, when they'll debut their "fresh, new, state-of-the-art studio home" in the streamer's new headquarters.

 

I have heard that the 10th floor is the cafeteria.  Be prepared for Lunch Lady "jokes".

Crazy that it’s still not done. Apparently, with GMA airing from there as well security has been informed to protect Ripa at all cost and have no run ins Michael Strahan. LOL!!!! If there are any near misses or close encounters heads will roll. LOL!!!! Of course, they have different hours but Kelly is there for hair, makeup and Botox injections well before 9am.

Strahan was featured briefly a couple times in the "Leaving The Old Studio" clip-a-thon episode.  I doubt things will ever be repaired, but they were never friends anyway.  It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Kelly reached out to MS during his daughter's recent health issues.  Iger has already sided with Kelly 110%, and he is headed out (again) once a successor is found (again).

Plus, I have to believe that the Consuelos family (and Gelman too) have already mapped out their exit strategies.  Regis hosted the syndicated show for 24 (?) years.  I suspect Kelly and Her Minions want to eclipse that by a few years.  The kids are nearly all out on their own.  Palm Springs is truly delightful. Yeah, I had just heard the rumblings of a Strahan exit. I think the NFL gig is based in LA and he’s been traveling for years. Granted, he’s not stuck in coach but I’m sure it gets old. Also, the health of his daughters probably convinced him it was time to leave GMA. I think he and Ripa got along show wise but weren’t hanging out with each other. Once the GMA debacle happened and princess was left out of the loop all bets were off. The one thing I’ve learned from the years of watching Kelly once you cross her you’re done. If you aren’t part of her gay mafia, a New York insider or her gym instructor you are dead to her. LOL!!!! 

I’m curios to see the new studio. Unfortunately, I rarely watch a whole show now. I can barely get through host chat. Kelly is a shell of her former self. I’ve watched her first few episodes when she got hired and was working with Regis. She was quick witted and could keep up with him. Now she can’t even read a story cut out of the newspaper for her without stammering or even understanding what she’s reading. It’s awful. Of course, Kelly and Mark enjoy their money and lifestyle and aren’t leaving anytime soon. I’m think it’s another 3 years or when their current contract ends. Whatever is first. LOL!!!!

I did catch the first part of today's show and only because of information gathered here realized that this was not their permanent set.  

I don't know what I expected, with that said, I have to say that I think Kelllmeeee has morphed into yet another persona.  I thought she was odder than normal today, very stiff, a couple of stumbles reading her cue cards and just not on her normal, less than entertaining game, lol.

When she showed the pics of her hiking, I immediately thought of her mother, Essie who almost always has some ridiculous hat on even though the occasion doesn't call for one, imo.  Kelllllmeeeee's hat screamed more, "here I am, look at me!!!!!" rather than I'm trying to protect my face from the sun.  I thought she looked ridiculous.

And how wonderful for her that she was able to hike "over 300 miles."  I have never seen someone on tv who toots their own horn when it comes to physical achievements.  Who cares?  Instead of bragging about yourself, why not talk about a dinner you and Mark had or something else you did during your break.

Oh, almost forgot, how painful was her introduction into the photos from the staff segment???  Cannot believe this woman hosts a talk show.  And I can only say the build-up she gave the resume of the one staffer was off the chart odd!  

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the new set.  Wonder how different it will be or will it be similar to the old one?  

Lastly, lol, I had no idea there were rumblings about Strahan leaving GMA?

contract renewal time for Strahan.  Maybe leaving, maybe negotiating for something bigger.  Time will tell.

I understand how false statements are construed to be true by gullible people because someone just said it.

There is no evidence or fact that Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa have or have ever had any such situation as claimd. If anyone here is spouting thoughts, assumptions, speculations or just  BS, back up your facts.

I see thoughts on here all the time with imagining, thinking or assuming that things are as such. Fact source and prove credible links, people. It's the right thing to do. This is a real family and people should respect them as you'd expect others to do so with your own family.

If you're a Live hate-watcher, then do so with honest and credible intent, This should be a space where people can be both critical and complimentary. There is room for both.

Anyhoo, I don’t watch on Thursday and Fridays since they are pre taped. I’m curious to see the new studio which I think we will see on Monday. I’m guessing they’ll stick with the bi level audience seating……I guess. Although, the temporary space had a great view. I remember when Anderson Cooper did his show there and I was always impressed by the view and lighting, I don’t have any sources. I hope no one fines me or anything. I remember back in the day when the changed the studio for Regis and Kathie Lee. It was the same studio but they flipped sides from what I recall. I remembe they blindfolded them. Fun memories.

Me too.  I saw the Live! site had a quick clip of the studio being built but I couldn't make heads or tails out of it, lol.  Curious, too, to see if Kelllmeee is full of complaints about the move and the new building or if she's appreciative of the fact that she's still got a job and is being paid millions to basically sit there like a potted plant, lol.

I wonder if she or MARK CONSUELOS!!! will mention London Lola as a way of promoting her latest EP.  Kelllmeeee 'liked' Lola's IG advertising it and I have to say it's an odd compilation.  She included a vid of her brushing her teeth, lol.  All I'll say is 'like mother, like daughter,' lol.  She's also got a close-up of her shirt that she's posted before; the answer, to which is, 'is the Pope Catholic?'  lol.

I was underwhelmed with the reveal of the new set.  I guess it'll take a few watches to check out all the details but it just looks gigantic and it seemed like a very long walk out for the guests.  

I will give our girl a back-handed compliment though.  Last week, in the temporary set, I thought she looked so pretty, especially her hair.  It looked like a softer color, the style was great and it looked so healthy.  Really a very pretty look for her, her make-up, clothes and hair.

Today, she comes out in that awful Grandma drape dress and the hair---omg---can you say dirty, greasy, just an awful look, imo.  I also noticed the lighting doesn't seem to be as good as at the other site because her close-ups showed an older face (as it should, btw) and I don't know how happy she'll be with that.

And the other constant was the reading of news articles.  I don't think that will ever change because there is no talent for talking.  MARK CONSUELOS!!!! can tell a story as he did when he first came aboard but for whatever reason, he's been stifled.  I almost think he's afraid of her, lol.  

Favorite part of the new set.....they brought the dog!!!

So kudos to them for getting the People's Most Beautiful spread for Lola.  They really have a great publicist.  Also great filters on the finished photos, lol.

I have to say that the new move and the extra early hour of waking up is not being kind to Kelllmeee.  Even Mr. finnzup walked in and said she looks 'haggard' and I agree.  Her blush is so harsh.  I almost think that there might be something going on with her or family, she just seems to be pre-occupied with other stuff other than the show.  Oh well, hope all is well with her family if that's the case.

The twin obsession is soooo old and so bizarre.  The fixation with her shoulder pads because her twin news clipping wasn't there, lol.  

Haven't been impressed with anything since they moved but what else is new?  lol

* What did I just hear?!  "Whenever I fantasize about Mark's mistress, her name is....."   WHAT?!?!   And MARK CONSUELOS!!!!  answered with something like, "good to know.."  then he awkwardly looked toward Gelman.  Has she lost her mind??

Peope magazine is a known publicity magazine and where they are paid to promote celebrities . The  photshopping didn’t even look like Lola !

Lola has a new album coming out so  they paid for the most beautiful title
Lola seems as narcisistic as Kelly as far as a public  persona

I got a kick out of Mark making a comment that meant  they could  mention Lola’s boyfriend’s mother on the show because they pay for things for her !

Oh, these two, lol.  Monday morning show, previously recorded.   Just chock full of inane information which really does put the Crap in their chat, lol.

Anyone else notice that Kellllmeeeee has taken on a new arm/hand tic to control what I guess is her anxiety about hosting a talk show and not being able to talk?

She now clenches her hands together so tightly and places them in front of her.  Maybe she did this before, but I just started noticing it several weeks ago.

I guess they went to Italy for some Campo Baso business.  Her IG was full of pics.  I also noticed that London Lola and her mom and dad were busy pushing Lola's IG.  I think it was @orangekit that mentioned MARK CONSUELOS!!!! letting the cat out of the bag about funding her lifestyle; and what a lifestyle it is.  Her clothes and accessories are always front and center, she really seems to like the luxe brands.   Did you catch the 'Posh ****' picnic basket? lol   From what I've seen about her love, he comes from a very well-to-do family.  

Wonder if they'll be gone all week?

I guess I don't mind this show when I watch, not frequently.  It is a morning talk show, not the news.  People in similar situations treat their children like that.  There is publicity involved because they are public people.  It appears to be very popular hence big salaries and continued syndication.

Today's "news clippings," which cover their desk, btw, included which way toilet paper should hang, which color clothing is returned the most and the first article, which Kelllmeeee painfully tried to read, was how you name your significant other in your phone.  All from today's 'news articles' placed in front of them by some producer.

I don't think that is banter between a husband and wife (I think that's how they describe host chat on their website, lol) I think it's a very painful way to pass the time until they get to "the real reason you all showed up today!!!"  My way of saying, come up with a different intro Kellllmeeee, please!

Well I guess those are "news articles" but not heavy stuff.  Fluff, I guess.  Whoever is paying them seems okay with how it goes.  To me all of these shows are similar.  The third hour of Today, when Kathie Lee was on this one. Granted, Regis was a master storyteller but apparently that gift left with him.  I take this show for what it is, a way to pass the time without much thought.  I mostly don't watch.  I record to see if there is a guest I want to see.  I see what they look like, and usually delete after that after FF to that part.

It was funny when Mark basically confirmed they are paying for Lola’s very expensive lifestyle! 
The videos from the “Most Beautiful “ issue were quite cringy!  Lola  comes cross like an exaggerated version of Kelly , which can be insufferable! 
They overdone affectations and plastered on makeup were just adding to the Nepo baby , spoiled , out of touch  persona that she  also has on her own social media . She may be a nice person, but wow , she is totally clueless if she thinks it helps her career as an artist to post a picture of a picnic basket that costs over $1000, and other pictures of her very rich lifestyle when she’s not working .
She definitely needs someone PR help r she ends up becoming well known .  Even Taylor Swift who everyone knows is a billionaire goes out of her way to appear charitable and relatable.  Getting mommy’s publicist to put you in the Most Beautiful issue when you are not even famous , is a bit much . 
I get wanting to help your child , but even though Michael got a job on the trashy Real Housewives because of his parents’  friendship to sleazy Andy Cohen , it seems like he was expected to at least work .  
I met Mark  years ago at some lunch for charity when he was on the soap and they’d make appearances at restaurants in malls . He sat at out table and was very down to earth and nice . I was very impressed with how he sat at our table of average women and some were older women , when a lot of very young pretty women were flirting with him , even  though everyone knew  he was married and was the father of a young child at the  time !  
He seemed annoyed with the flirty women, unlike many of the other soap stars who came to appearances and would really get into the flirting and hanging out with women who were looking to hook up , even though the guy was married or in a relationship.  Mark talked about Kelly and Michael who was a baby or toddler at that time . I really liked him a lot because he seemed down to earth and also like a good guy . I think the fact he is just himself makes him a very good host on a show where there is a lot of conversation.   Kelly used to be way more down to earth , but I don’t know if she just became so insecure about being around  celebrities and started putting on this exaggerated persona and  also having body image issues

What a pleasant surprise to see a 'live' Live! today.  Also, banter alert!!  

I chuckled at Kellllmeeee becoming "enraged" at her team because they lost.  She's a hoot and a half.  

I love Stanley Tucci and will have to check my DVR because I only caught the first portion of his interview.  Just enough to hear Kellllmeee hijack the interview and attempt to ridicule MARK CONSUELOS!!!! with her luggage talk, lol.  I really do feel bad for her immortal beloved, he sits there and half smiles and just shakes his head.  

And all the publicity for Lola and Cassius!!  omg, maybe wedding bells soon?  Sounds serious.

Occasionally I watch just the first part of the show when they have the "Stump Mark" segment on. I see where improvement is needed, but I will keep my thoughts on that to myself for now.

Today the TV happened to be on when Sarah Jessica Parker was on. Well, I love her! I don't think she appears on too many TV shows nowadays, so I was so happy I had the TV on for her appearance.

I wanted to hear everything she had to say. But no. Here came Kelly, overtaking the conversation about Mahjong, like this was her time, not Sarah Jessica's time. Girl, please let your guests talk! I was disappointed. And stop interrupting, for goodness sakes.

I think Kelly is pretty, but she dresses way past her age. Why? Is this her actual taste? She could look so cute in an updated or sophisticated look. She wears what my grandmother might have worn, and this was way back in the past, people. Now, granted that I don't watch the show much, but I have never seen Kelly wear her hair in any different style that that wavy look that everyone in the world who has long hair wears. PULL YOUR HAIR BACK IN A PONY TAIL. Do something. You just project yourself as boring, afraid to take chances, stuck in the past and unable to change by doing what you did a hundred years ago.

Give the audience something new.

I hate such trivial, painful small talk. No one cares about these things. I noticed during these segments that many times Kelly looked annoyed with Mark. She may have every reason to, who knows . . . but spending all your time getting ready in the morning, commuting, working, then back home - with each other would absolutely make me want to dump the spouse. It would be way too much togetherness for me.

Yes!!  I came here to say the exact same thing!!  My goodness, SJP is rarely ever on TV and I was so interested in her take on Mah Jong, her son, etc. but Kellllmeeee WOULD.NOT.SHUT.UP!!  Omg, she is absolutely insufferable.  There she was, interviewing herself, as she often does and everything with her is "me, me, me!!"

MARK CONSUELOS!!! and his interviewing skills need some work.  I know he himself has said this in an interview but the guy seriously just jumps on the guests words and interjects a very scripted question.  At least try and segue into a conversation-like discussion with your questions.  He sits there with his giant card and just reads the questions to the guests.  At least let them finish their sentence before you ambush them with some crazy question one of your interns printed up for you.  And, when he does that, I notice Kelllmeeee looks at him like, "Wth Mark!"  (Unless that's just me projecting, lol.)

Kudos to Gelman for his Swan Yoga pose.  That takes crazy strength, I was impressed!

Anybody else think MARK CONSUELOS!!!!! acted like a jerk to the yoga instructor when he threw a hissy fit and started yanking the instructor's body all over the place?

I know there are so many articles talking about MARK CONSUELOS'S!!!! temper and it was obvious to me that if he could have leveled that guy he would have but for the live TV audience, lol.

Wow, he did everything he could to embarrass the guy and make his feelings known and it was really uncomfortable to watch, at least for me.  

The two of them are such oddballs and somedays we get the full dose of their egos, and this day was over the top.

OMG, yes finnzup!!! I was SO uncomfortable watching that. Then he must have realized his aggressiveness at the end of the segment and went and hugged the guy. Wow, true colors.

Also, I noticed that during the no gear workout segments, Kelly and Mark can't even be bothered to change into workout clothes. It's so uncomfortable to watch them doing these segments in their 'work clothes'. Come on Live, give them a wardrobe change budget lol.

Agree with you @NYCRunner, it's so odd that they were not in their work-out gear.  We know Kellmeeee always loves an opportunity to wow us in her leggings; just so weird that they were working out in their street clothes all week.

And cannot leave without saying that even without her skin-tight leggings on, Kelllmeeee looks like a stick-figure.

@orangekit, I think it was a Tuesday of their Fitness Week.  Was that last week or the week before? lol

They had two yoga instructors, a woman and a man.  MARK CONSUELOS!!!! took center stage during the demonstration with Kelllmeee positioned in the back.  I don't think she was thrilled about that because we all know what a yogi mistress she fancies herself, lol.

Anyway, the male instructor was gently guiding Mark during the segment, helping by putting his hands on Mark and guiding him.  I don't think Mark liked that, because he clearly was not as flexible as the other three and I don't think he liked that at all.  When they cut for commercial and came back, they told Kelllmeee to move up front and put MARK CONSUELOS!!!! in the back; again, I don't think he liked that, lol.  Anyway, they started their next position, MARK CONSUELOS!!!! jumps up and loudly declares, he'll 'help' the yoga instructor and begins manhandling him into position and looking around the studio like a crazy man, lol.  I really think he thought he was being funny, but it wasn't, at least not for me.

When the segment ended, MARK CONSUELOS!!! patted the guy on the back and acted like they were best buds.  The instructor never lost his cool and was a complete professional and gentleman in an awkward situation.

It reminded me of that time MARK CONSUELOS!!!! charged the wrestling mats during one of Joaquin's matches.  It was a high school match and he looked like a crazy man running on the mats.  You can hear the other parents saying basically, 'dude, it's a HS wrestling match....sit the F down!'

All I have to say is, I need this show. I am prone to depression and it doesn't take much to set it off, sometimes. I had to quit watching The View. 

I love Kelly & Mark they never upset me. They are a beacon of hope in a sad world.

I had a hard time finding the video of the segment . Interesting it was the only exercise segment video missing from last week.

 

i finally found it and it was cringeworthy!   Mark was so weird! His imitating of the male yoga instructor the  laughing   Was obnoxious and at one point he was so rough he pulled up the shirt on the man. No wonder Live just happened to leave it off of their social media and website! The only place to find it was on streaming services ! They knew he was obnoxious . Now they have two narcissists to deal with !

He sure is more and more obnoxious, even in host chat .

It seems like the money and recognition is going to Mark’s head. He is good and very natural as a host , but lately both he and Kelly are hard to watch  and at times cringeworthy.  
 Lola who is now a “singer” and living off of mom and dad’s  money while having their PR team to get publicity is posting a lot of interesting cringeworthy things .  She’s so out of touch she thinks that  $1200 picnic basket is normal .  She also posts a lot of things that are suggestive and raunchy like another tote with the word for kitty.  … if you know what I mean ! I guess a diet or the Real Housewives and having her mother who is the queen of innuendoes had a major influence on her .  It’s funny how Mark met that comment about her living off of them! I wonder how long they’ll support her and  her boyfriend’s lifestyle in London !

That was a real eye-opener when he made that comment about bank-rolling Lola but as far as her boyfriend goes, he comes from a super-wealthy family so little miss Lola, I'm guessing, wants for nothing between mom and dad and her live-in boyfriend.

Today's crap chat, about Kelllmeeee needing dietary help fitting into her Oscar gown?!?!  Does she even hear herself???

First of all, she is scary skinny now, that blue dress is cinched so tight around her waist, which is non-existent.  I can't imagine what she looks like in person if TV adds 15 lbs!  When she walks in and we see her sideways, she's almost invisible, almost.

Anyway, she needed a high-protein diet in order to fit in her gown???  What?!?!  And after she listened to MARK CONSUELOS!!!, she was able to fit in the gown, no problem, and according to her, she looked "SO FIT!!!" 

She's seriously got body image issues.  That, and a serious case of vanity, lol.

Another crazy talking point in today's crap-chat.  What in the fresh hell is Kelllmeeee talking about when she says her thighs make a 'clapping' sound when she sits down?!?!  What???  And then she polls the audience to see who else shares this experience??

So we are to think she's so flabby and overweight that her fat thighs are clapping together when she sits down?   First of all, the space between her thighs must be a good six inches, lol, so what's clapping together??

Very disturbing comments and again, she's got a severe case of body dysmorphic disorder and I am NOT a Dr. but anyone with an 8th grade education can surely make this diagnosis, lol.

I’m an infrequent watcher and I happened to watch today. But I don’t hate them. I kind of like them, and I feel Mark was the best choice after Regis. I did not like to watch either Strahan or Seacrest.

Today Kelly looked like she could weigh no more than 70 pounds in that green dress. Scary skinny. Bryce Dallas Howard looked like a linebacker next to her.

If she thinks she has big thighs  she is truly in need of help with body image issues, but she’ll never get  it .  Her lack of nutrition based on her own “What I Eat on a Day” she did a few years ago was scary .  She barely eats any protein , she seems to live on greens .   She also said ONE chocolate covered almond was a big “splurge “ for dessert .

I have a feeling she’s going to be breaking bones easily as she ages and having other issues . Kathie Lee used to be similar , but not as extreme and now she’s in her  70’s and is breaking bones quite easily , and had a hip replacement.  She looks more l way older than she is with her extreme plastic surgery and the fact she can barely walk  . 
On another topic , looks like the family PR machine is working overtime and People and other sites are reposting the Kelly/Lola interview on social media where Lola was poster with so much makeup she didn’t look like herself . 
I wonder if Lola’s is finally going to release her album so the family’s publicity  machine from mommy and daddy is at work again .
