Online gets no respect; sometimes the next episode is up immediately after the last episode finishes, sometimes it's up on Friday, sometimes it's up as it broadcasts, sometimes it's Shark Week.  This time it's up on Thursday here.

A severe arctic gale batters the fleet, forcing captains to fight extreme wind and waves. For the second time, a greenhorn's life hangs in the balance on the Summer Bay. The Saga crew seeks shelter at St. Paul, where tidal forces snap Jake's anchor.

And, oh, yeah, winter weather in the Bering Sea is scary bad.

Yeah.  if I were that poor Greenhorn (Spencer?), I would be seriously re-evaluating my career choice here.  Yikes.

And what is it with the Saga and their anchor?  Haven't they lost it like 3 or 4 times now?

Great to see Harry go on deck (are you taking notes, Josh?)   Though I was saying, "Don't hurt yourself, Harry!  Don't hurt yourself out there!"  But that was most cool of him to go out there and help.

Both Spencer and Wild Bill need a nice long vacation.  I think Spencer's little swing over the briny deep was because they're all exhausted and not as sharp as usual.

I'm glad someone else remembered that this seems to be an repeat issue for the Saga.  My first thought was "What?  Again?".  Jake was a wee bit unhinged in his yelling...again.

Harry certainly improved with time once he and Monte got a handle on their relationship and expectations.  It was nice to see Harry on the deck.  He's a team player, even at his age.

Harry's pushups impressed me. As no doubt he intended.  I've never understood why the "extra guy" isn't sorting crab.  I mean, I understand if the relief captain is sleeping, that's one thing.  But hanging out in the wheelhouse? I realize he was hired to drive, not work on deck, but crab sorting doesn't seem that intense if the goal is to move things along and get home ASAP. Maybe they do and we just don't see it.

At first I was horrified about Spencer going over the side on the pot, but in watching it a second time, it actually seemed like a very good instinct to cling to the pot.  At first I thought he was stupidly hanging on, but if you look at the physics of it -- had he let go, he likely would have followed its momentum over the side WITHOUT having the safety of the pot to hang on to.  The bigger danger was being crushed between the pot and the edge.  As long as his body wasn't between the pot and the stack, hanging onto the pot was safer than letting go of it and falling off/being knocked off by a swinging pot.  It wasn't like NIck was going to drop the pot in the water.  And we've seen them "ride" pots before.

Not diminishing the terrible danger at all -- just wondering if the lesson for the stack guy is to actually keep hold of the pot and ride it rather than stand vulnerable to it if it gets away from you?

I agree, he lost his balance and would have gone down if he hadn't grabbed the pot - this time not only overboard but from a height.  Choices were limited but grabbing the pot was the best one.

I couldn't help it, I laughed at Jake going nuts over losing the anchor; mostly because his yelling had so many swear words in it the audio was basically one long bleep interrupted by words like "you", "the", "anchor", "but" which made it pretty much incomprehensible and comical at the same time.

It's a shame for Sean that he's entering 10 years into the series. His boat is extremely interesting to watch. He makes good decisions and keeps his crew safe. It's just that he's on the tail end of the series. It's all been seen and done before. Also the boats that we have grown attached to are gone or the people that are on them are falling apart. Sean could have used the Discovery money and deserves it, but the series is about done.

I didn't see another vessel anywhere near the Saga in the bay avoiding the storm.  Were they the only ones?  Was it totally a Disco stunt?

I must be a total idiot, but those final pots Bill was bringing up?  Had absolutely nothing in them!  What was the point of dropping them empty?  They were NOT dumping any life from them on the side, which would have been required since they had net quota.  I am at a complete loss.
