I've given up giving in to my OCD when I see "Locker" instead of "Loker" and "Mauve" instead of Maeve. Pretty sure it's effin' autocorrect's dirty hands doing that to people. I know I see those a lot on Facebook and I don't do a spelling/grammar check on my own FB posts, so it's likely it's people's devices autocorrecting (autodestruct as it's not so fondly known as in my house, especially when it wants to correct peoples' names --FYI it IS Reid not READ you stupid device!!--in a fanfic) people's posts.

Thank you. It's indeed that.

... said everyone ever. That has to be the worst and most prevalent example! I've finally trained my phone to the correct word, after about an entire year. xD

yeah, as a fanfic writer, I find it endlessly frustrating that Word continues to 'fix' stuff like unsub, victimology and the people's names and nicknames which ARE CORRECT you stupid word processing program!!! Not to mention the crabbiness that ensues when Word wants to fix my spelling of realise, labour, theatre etc. I am NOT American, you stupid word processing program! Leave me alone! *ahem* 15 stories and a year later and it STILL wants to correct Hotch to hitch. *sigh*

This is off-topic, but you can actively "teach" Word these things - when you see it underlined in red, just right click and there is usually an option to "add" the word. And you can turn off auto-correct too, if you'd prefer (I believe you can do this on phones as well).

Okay, back on topic; we're getting a bit off course.

Like a lot of you here, I think one of the worst aspects of CM is the torture porn and violence, especially when it comes to my favorite character, Spencer. We've seen this man shot, tortured, beaten up and held hostage. But at least there is some parity with all of this. Pretty much every member of the BAU has been shot, tortured, beaten up or held hostage-or a combo platter of all four. Shudder.

However, have anyone seen the level of condescension and "good natured" bullying Spencer has received pretty much since the beginning of his tenure with the BAU aimed at the other BAU team members? I think not. Early on he had to wear that ridiculous b-day hat on his 24th birthday. And let's not forget Derek being a complete dick to Spencer after Spencer failed his gun qualifications in LDSK, so rude and unprofessional.

And let's not forget how Derek and Rossi mocked Spencer during his absence, complete with Spencer-like hand gestures.

I'm also not a fan of terms like "kid" (aimed at a man well into his thirties), "pretty boy" or "pretty Ricky." I don't even like calling him Spence, but maybe it's because JJ calls him that.

And I can't forget when Spencer and Garcia went to a Comic Con like convention and when faced with Kevin and his date, Garcia just had to blurt out that she could never be sexually attracted to Spencer.

I agree times infinity with every single thing except I do like "Pretty Boy," not gonna lie.

I'm kinda partial to Pretty Boy myself. As it came from Morgan, who's OLDER than him and referred to himself as Baby Boy, he's just acknowledging that #ratbastard is prettier than just about anyone. I don't take that particular nickname as a derogatory remark at all.

Also like Spence, but that should be his significant other calling him that, not his coworkers. Especially since they're all referring to each other by their last names.

oh I know. But I do appreciate autocorrect fixing my flying capitals (If I had to correct all the SPencers myself, I'd be doing that all day) and my reversed letters (t e h  for the all time etc). For some reason, it will just not learn Hotch although I have asked it too several times. I'm on a Macbook with a trackpad, wtf is 'right click'?

Right click is whatever you make it (there are a few options available to you). On my Macbook, I have made it a two-fingered tap on the trackpad. Just go to System Preferences --> Trackpad.

It took me a while to be able to watch that one, because the actor-who-plays-Caleb's face kept intruding mentally on my enjoyment of the beauty that is MGG. Sometimes that happens in my poor little brain. For instance, I can watch Benedict Cumberbatch do Sherlock, and for days, his "face" is in my subconscious, about 1.25 levels down. It bubbles to the surface at any moment. His voice is like that, too, it hangs in my poor brain for days. Help me...

A runny nose can be a powerful thing!  Remember "Revelations."

The bottom right pic looks like he's looking to the heavens with utter gratefulness after getting a taste of my sugar mint cookies and Old Doggie's cheddar.

ROFL.  Yes, it's definitely a "thing" with him.

i once read he said he compulsively checks the corners of his mouth for toothpaste, once even stopping filming because he was convinced it was there.

Or Neosporin.

Okay, finally getting back on topic.

We all know CM really fails when it comes to wigs and hair pieces. And I think one of the worst wigs is the one Reid sports in Profiling 101 when the BAU reflects on a past case from several years prior. The wig looks rather mulletish or mullet adjacent and just looks ridiculous placed on Reid's head. Seriously, that thing looked like something my cat horked up.

That hair was a travesty.  They continued the trend with Aisha last season.

Whoever is responsible for the hair on this show needs schooled.  Remember the rat's nest on Reid's head in The Forever People?

Incidentally, I always loved Hotch's hair.  He's so buttoned up and controlled, hair gelled within an inch of its life, but there was that rebellious little cowlick...  :::sniff:::

A lot of people don't seem to like those two sets of finales/ openers.  I didn't mind either of them. Was there something in particular that you didn't like?

Personally, I dislike To Hell/And Back because the plot consisted of two parts: the part that was essentially Robert Pickton, and the part that was ridiculous. Plus some overlap between the two.

I heard more than enough about Pickton on the news, including warnings like this one.  I don't need to hear about it in my fictional programming as well.

Morgan berating the Detroit detective by asking her "how many lives would it take for you to care" is one of my favourite scenes of all time. Plus, as an actress, I quite enjoyed Lily Kershaw...she elevated some pretty spotty writing, I think.

"Our Darkest Hour/The Longest Night", though...well, I think it's better than a lot of what passes for CM these days. I just found the Billy Flynn/Derek Morgan fight to be very underwhelming. I get the show wanted to make Flynn Morgan's "nemesis" but there was hardly anything about him that would scream "Morgan would pay extra attention to this guy". If Morgan's the team's muscle then he should have an adversary that could at least look like he could beat Morgan in a fight. Scraggly old Flynn doesn't cut it for me. Oh, and the scene where Morgan piled bullets into Flynn truly rang hollow, and was pretty cheap writing, I think.

I pretty much only enjoyed "Our Darkest Hour" until we got to the end and Eric Close's character decided he had to be stupid.

For all of its faults, "Our Darkest Hour" was probably the last finale that was somewhat decent (Until we got to "The Storm", since I liked it for the most part), but we didn't realize it until the execrable season finales of 6-10. And it should be noted that "Our Darkest Hour" was written by Erica (the first in the string of disappointing finales), and it was her best effort at one of those, but it was by far the worst finale in the first five seasons (again, no coincidence that it was written by Erica).
