John Potts March 19, 2017 Share March 19, 2017 I was glad that Snapper fired Kara - too often TV characters go, "But I did it for a good reason!" and get let off. But life doesn't work like that.* Of course, Kara did it in perhaps the STUPIDEST way possible by using a company computer and (apparently) her own name, but Snapper acted perfectly reasonably: he warned her of the consequences and when she published anyway, he fired her. In fact, John should have fired Alex (and DEFINITELY shouldn't have apologised for benching her) - I was kind of hoping Maggie was going to say something like: Maggie: John was wrong to treat you like that... Alex: Thanks for taking my side! Maggie: ...I would have fired you. Alex: WHAT! Maggie: You work for the DEO, you broke the rules...[Straps on gun]... now let's rescue your dad. Alex: I thought you said John was right!? Maggie: And if I WAS your boss at the DEO, that's what I would have done! Now, what's the plan? Good thing we don't live in that world, huh? * Of course, IRL there aren't superpowered aliens living on Earth either**, but if you want to show Kara dealing with the "real world," that bit should be realistic. ** That we know of! 1 Link to comment
AudienceofOne March 20, 2017 Share March 20, 2017 And the laws of physics wept as they rolled over and died. At least they learned something about how journalism was done in 1994 before they croaked. I really disliked how Alex's behaviour in relation to her father was justified at the end by his sudden conversion. And how lame was "they threatened you!" as an excuse? Really, that's all the writers could come up with? Also, your children would probably not be a superpowered immortal alien and a highly-trained federal agent. Cadmus would be gunning for them anyway so what would Jeremiah's cooperation actually achieve? Link to comment
stealinghome March 20, 2017 Share March 20, 2017 To be fair, when Jeremiah was taken Alex was like 15 and Kara a very traumatized 14. They (and Eliza) were very vulnerable. I doubt the deal Jeremiah cut with Cadmus over a decade ago assumed that Alex would join the DEO (I wonder at what point he/Cadmus found that out?) and Kara would become Supergirl. Though that does beg the question of why Jeremiah was still helping Cadmus after 2x07, where it was clear Supergirl was fair game. But unfortunately I think the writers are content to yadda yadda over Jeremiah's motivations (which, sigh, this arc has been so disappointing). Personally, I would have liked it if they had developed more the idea that Jeremiah realized if he couldn't escape, he could at least tried to mitigate some of the harm Cadmus was doing--like arguing for deportation instead of death in 2x15. That it was better to try to help by putting a brake on Cadmus' crazy, as opposed to just sitting like a bump on a log in a jail cell. Not that that would have made anything he did right, but I think the "work within the system to try to change it" approach could have been more interesting if done right. 1 Link to comment

She research an article for Catco but Snapper rejected it and refused to publish it. Does that mean she has to garbage it and never use the information in any other form? How would they know what computer she blogged from? She sent it from her home. It seemed to me that she had written the article and submitted it to Snapper, who refused to run it because it wasn't properly sourced. If she ran the same article on her blog, that would have technically been copyright infringement, assuming that she is an employee of CatCo and not an independent contractor. The reason for this is that copyright law states that anything an employee creates that is within the course and scope of employment is automatically owned by the employer (the "Work for Hire" doctrine). I assumed that was what Snapper meant when he told her she used CatCo "resources." 1 Link to comment
Ottis March 26, 2017 Share March 26, 2017 I don't understand when super heroes try on this show and when they don't. Mon el couldn't get to the ship in time? Guardian is hanging out at a bar? Martian Manhunter... never mind. So Cadmus' plan was to round up every alien physically and deport them? That seems ... expensive. So Supergirl stopped the ship by ... what happened there? It seems like when Kara and Mon El have sex that they would go through a lot of furniture. Snapper was actually right. Link to comment

Chas411 April 24, 2017 Share April 24, 2017 (edited) How stocky is Dean Cain? Is that muscle or fat? I don't remember him being so heavy set. Also i really disliked Alex in this episode and was annoyed that Jonn apologised to her. She was so emotionally compromised it was embarrassing to listen to her try and justify it. Did they suddenly remember they still have to pay Mehcad despite no appearances and so randomly created two scenes for him to appear in. Sad thing is I haven't noticed his absence or missed him. I never bought him and Kara as an epic romance nor did I have a huge interest in his personal life so im not going to be devastated if he doesn't return next season.
