Okay, fine. 4 is out. Not because Luke didn't look sexy (he totally did) but because let's face it, the sheet is not the focus of that scene. Heh.

Favorite 'You Look Wonderful Tonight' Moments

4.  Sookie freaks out and comes to the Inn in her wedding dress the night before the wedding.  "Hey, what happened?" "I don’t know." "When I left you, you were fine." "I know. And when I went home, I was fine. And when I went to bed, I was fine. And then I had this dream where suddenly my dress is really, really short in back, you know? So I bolt out of bed and I put my dress on, and it looks okay. But then I panic – what if I’m remembering the dream wrong? What if my dress isn’t really screwed up, what if it’s my veil? So I put on the veil, then I remember I’m serving salmon puffs. Salmon puffs! I rewatched Those Are Strings, Pinocchio yesterday and I can't believe I forgot to add Luke in his suit to this list! With his hair cut neat, yum yum YUM.

4 out! For all my issues with this show over the multitude of times I've watched - some petty, some legit - one thing it really got right was I never once saw them belittle or poke fun at women of size. (Well, aside from a couple of OOC jokes I choose to ignore.) I really appreciate that. And Sookie looked really beautiful in her wedding gown, and how GG-esque is it that we never saw her in her wedding gown on her actual wedding day, rather we saw her wearing it in the middle of a panic attack about the food? Heh. Perfect.

She really did and it was a perfect gown for a woman of size. I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to cram her into something strapless and mermaid which would have been a big joke.

Time to vote FOR the WINNER! And put on your thinking caps because next game is going to be the exact opposite - times when characters looked (or were wearing) something truly awful. I've got several in mind already for Lorelai and Emily both, ha ha!

I love how we all see things differently. There's lots of times I think Luke looks way hotter than in that wedding ensemble. He still looks good though, no complaints. 😉

And I agree with Junie that while Lorelai looked pretty (and I especially love the garland in her hair) the color clashed with her skin tone. Much like the time I was in my brother's wedding and had to wear pastel yellow. Egads.

So, anyway. Enough babbling! Our winner is -

The first and foremost in my mind is that awful wedding dress that Lorelai chose.  After all of the anticipation of a wedding, that's the best they could do?  Ugh.

Of course, for totally egregious, the Daisy Duke Visits the Headmaster outfit.  Shudder.

Rory in that ridiculous hat playing golf with her grandfather.

Lorelai wearing the animal print cowboy hat.  And wasn't there another one in denim?

And, on a hat rant, the knit/crocheted one that Lane wore with the knobs on top.

The 'What Not to Wear' GG Edition

1. Lorelai's not-so perfect wedding dress.  "I don't understand. How did this happen? This morning, you didn't know whether you were gonna wear a white dress or not." "I know. But then Sookie and I went to check out these invitations, you know, and right next door, there was this little bridal shop, and we thought, oh, we'll just go in, look around, you know no big deal, you know, just girl fun, right? And I went in, and I turned around, and there it was. The perfect dress." "The..." "The bodice is this blush-coloured silk tulle, and it has all these little crystal beads on it, and the skirt is a blush silk tulle with a blush silk/satin lining, and the back goes into a train. And, oh, it has a cream, satin sash, so you get a little white in there, which I know is very important to you. I tried it on, and it fit me perfectly, and it was on sale, and so I bought it. And from the minute I bought the dress, everything else fell into place." (The Perfect Dress)

2. It's Rory's first day at Chilton but all of Lorelai's clothes are at the cleaners.  "What?" "Nothing. I just didn't know the rodeo was in town." (The Lorelais' First Day at Chilton)

4. Lorelai accidentally wears something from the town rummage sale that used to belong to Rachel (before Lorelai knew Rachel existed and apparently before ASP knew Rachel would be a classic beauty and not.....whatever that was). "What the hell do you think you’re wearing?"  (Concert Interruptus)

5. Lorelai is wearing bizarrely patterned shirt while on the phone with Rory, they are discussing Rory thinking Laundry Guy was talking about her asking him out. The bells are mysteriously no longer working. Since Taryn74 has done all of the heavy lifting on posting these with hilarious captions, I've done links to pictures of each objectionable outfit.  I will update as more come in.

The 'What Not to Wear' GG Edition

1. Lorelai's not-so perfect wedding dress.  "I don't understand. How did this happen? This morning, you didn't know whether you were gonna wear a white dress or not." "I know. But then Sookie and I went to check out these invitations, you know, and right next door, there was this little bridal shop, and we thought, oh, we'll just go in, look around, you know no big deal, you know, just girl fun, right? And I went in, and I turned around, and there it was. The perfect dress." "The..." "The bodice is this blush-coloured silk tulle, and it has all these little crystal beads on it, and the skirt is a blush silk tulle with a blush silk/satin lining, and the back goes into a train. And, oh, it has a cream, satin sash, so you get a little white in there, which I know is very important to you. I tried it on, and it fit me perfectly, and it was on sale, and so I bought it. And from the minute I bought the dress, everything else fell into place." (The Perfect Dress)
