I kept hoping it wasn't coming, but I knew it was.  New celebrity edition starting Sept 14th at 9.   From the Food Network website::

Quote

In the premiere episode, celebrity recruits Mindy Cohn, Matt Dallas, Tommy Davidson, Barbara Eden, John Henson, Loni Love, Kenya Moore, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Nicole Sullivan enter to find Anne and Rachael ready to assess their cooking skills with a baseline cooking test inspired by ingredients from a Hollywood swag bag. Unfortunately, one celebrity won’t make it onto a team, and will have to return to Tinseltown instead of getting a spot in Boot Camp. Upcoming episodes feature Oktoberfest-themed beer and sausage challenges, a Halloween Bloody Mary battle and the return of trivia game Family Food. Former contestants-turned-guest judges will be last season’s winner, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and runner-up, Kendra Wilkinson.

The only one of these people I'd ever heard of was Barbara Eden and I hadn't given her a thought in about 40 years.  Her age kind of gave me pause as she's decades older than the others but then I thought about Mary Berry who is fabulous at 82 so we shall see.

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I looked up Michael Sorrentino on Wikipedia because I wanted to know what "The Situation" as a nickname could possibly mean.  I still don't know.  He sounds like he might be a real jerk though.

He was on a show called "Jersey Shore" His nickname is "the situation" a nickname he gave himself because of his body.

Definitely a pill. Self absorbed. He did cook on the show so i bet he goes far

No, thank you.  It's sad to see Skunkboy sink this low, I thought the US version of MEEC (forget what they called it) was already the bottom, but apparently it is possible to hit bottom and then keep falling.

I never watched "Jersey Shore" but I remember "The Situation" from Dancing with the Stars where he wasn't nearly as insufferable as I thought he would be.  I grew up with Barbara Eden, lost track of her and wow, she looks amazing for her age!  I have to admit I didn't even know she was still alive!  And I remember Nicole Sullivan from "Mad TV".  She's a very funny woman!  Mindy Cohn I remember too but only from one episode of "What not to Wear".  I never watched "The Facts of Life".  So I guess I know of a fair number of them, not that I really care to, LOL.  I like Nicole so at least I have someone to root for.  Who the heck knows if any of them have any potential, LOL?  I guess we'll find out!

You're embarrassed that you don't know any of these schmoes. I'm embarrassed that I do.

Mindy Cohn--The Facts of Life and Violet Tendencies

Matt Dallas--Kyle XY. I'm a little surprised because he's married and had a kid.

Tommy Davidson--In Living Color

Barbara Eden--I Dream of Jeannie

John Henson--Talk Soup and Wipeout

Loni Love--comedienne and host of The Real

Kenya Moore--Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kenya famously can't cook. On her first season of RHoA, she was shown trying to pass off a Trader Joe's meal as her own cooking.

Mike“The Situation” Sorrentino--Jersey Shore

Nicole Sullivan--Mad TV and Blackish

Oh yeah, I know her as the Heffernan's dogwalker on King of Queens.

Thanks for the rundown.  Very helpful.

But how about Skunkboy?  That's still cracking me up.

Knock-Knock!!!  Can we open up the episode boards so we can comment while we're still bitchy?

I run into this sometimes, too--champing at the bit to rant and no spot to do it.  Lol.  As long as a forum already exists for the show, you can just click the "Start" to create an episode thread.  It's easy.

(I haven't watched it yet, but I'll be along shortly for the bitchfest.)

So the dude who other than naming his abs was also known for his cooking skills  and frequently shown using them, that resulted into a favorite reality quote

Quote

"You know what? You're excluded from dinner, then. You're excluded from Surf-and-Turf Night. You're excluded from Ravioli Night. You're excluded from Chicken-Cutlet Night."

can't figure out how to wash a cutting board in a sink?

Who/what is a skunk boy?

Skunk Boy is John Henson - a name he gave himself, referring to a peculiar white streak in his hair, way back in his Talk Soup days.  Since he embraced it and it's always looked dumb I assume it's some physical thing he can't fix without dying it out.  I don't know if he's dying it out now, because I'd have to watch WCOA-CE to find out and I've got asparagus to inspect  and Skittles to sort instead.
