CruiseDiva May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 The thing I will miss most about Nashville is this board and y'all. Seriously. 7 Link to comment
Tara Ariano May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 In case you missed it, here's the Previously.TV post on the episode! Nashville's Series Finale Gives Happy Conclusions To Everyone Who Matters Except one, but we won't talk about that. 1 Link to comment
justmythoughts June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 I have to confess: I've read your comments but I had not had the guts to watch the episode until today... Loved it all... Will finally getting some nice moments. Luke, sweet Luke, how is it possible you became one of my dearest? Glen is amazing! He is so supportive and he knows Juliette as a father. Avery telling Layla off... I want to rewatch that scene ten more times! Could the writers have rushed more the happy endings for the Exes and Rayna and family? Hell, I was tired of all those people, but at least they could have been better written. No, just a kiss solves it all. No, just a hug with mommy and daddy and let's go home! So Maddie telling the stupid other girl that she was disappointed because her friend was supposed to take care of her... ow, sweetie, that is what emancipations about, you don't need anyone taking care of you. I wish she had realized that Cash was only after her fame, meeting people, money, not a friendship. And wished she had apologized deeply to Rayna, Deacon and her adorable sister! And how amazing was that moment when Juliete got off the plane and kissed Avery? Cadence was sleeping as an angel. They were holding hands and walking home... so gorgeous as her Oscar dress and hair and make up. Hayden was fantastic! Yeah, in my mind that was the end, I refuse to think differently. And I hope CMT don't dare mess up with my babies JAvery happiness. They deserve it! 3 Link to comment
Kathemy June 17, 2016 Share June 17, 2016 I don't know. It's a given, I think, that Hayden will return if she's well. The problem is that as of right now she is not well and I don't know how they can predict when she will be well again. With S/G and D/R we were clearly showed the "series finale" ending. I don't think those scenes worked out like that in the first version. Argument in my favor being that Will and Kevin weren't shot at (which they were in the first version.) I don't mind this because the alternatives I heard just sounded atrocious, precisely the type of over-the-top soap trash that has become this show's trademark, and I guess Ed and Marshall didn't want to touch that stinking pile of horse dung with a ten-foot pole. Only the J/A cliffhanger ended up being used... And I honestly do believe that was to give Hayden a possible out if she decided she wasn't fit to go back into acting, possibly for a long time. However I also don't think it was a coincidence how she tweeted something about "feeling better" right around the day the CMT deal was announced. I'm pretty sure no sane person would feel "good" working with the scripts for season four and their brain-dead writers and showrunners, least of all Hayden who had to act out a bizarre version of a disease she was actually herself suffering from and which entailed her throwing a heavy object at her newborn on-screen baby and husband. Seriously those tools. No class. None. 1 Link to comment
aradia22 June 26, 2016 Share June 26, 2016 Why does Autumn want Gunnar so badly? Is it his palpable, raw sexuality? I don't get it. I'm glad Avery didn't fall for Layla trying to get him to not go to Juliette. There's still a sensible guy somewhere in there. What would Juliette be responsible for? Jeff fell. Yes, it's still scandalous but I don't see where the legal part comes in. "Juliette at the scene of the crime." What crime??? God, I wish Juliette pushed him off the damn building. Is Maddie's pop music punishment that she can only sing one song for the rest of time? I get that pop music sounds a little dull and homogeneous but even Selena Gomez doesn't sound like that. Also, Vince is just another example of how badly they screwed up this plotline. I feel like Gunnar and Scarlett's manager might be the most effective manager on the show. "I just fired Glenn." Ugh. Why are they writing Layla like the villain of a Lifetime movie? I forget everyone's ages on the show but in real life Jonathan is over 10 years older than Aubrey so... you know. I'm not feeling that bad for him. He should have known better. Will is so adorable. Gag. "Jeff was a hero." Nashville, I swear, you try my patience sometimes. I am amazed that for once Deacon didn't react with physical violence. Especially since this was better provocation than a lot of those other times. I realize they couldn't show "the Oscars" but what was with the sets this episode for that plotline? Did Juliette even go? On the one hand, I like mature Juliette not letting anyone else take the blame. On the other hand, I feel like it's the evil writers heaping all this blame on her. But at least Avery was like, my bad on the timing of the divorce papers. The onstage kiss was a cliche that didn't work for me but it was at least a quick way to resolve that story. I think Maddie should face more repercussions but at least we don't have to spend anymore time on that. Speaking of the writers piling on Juliette for no good reason, it wasn't just that she had to take on all the blame for stupid Jeff falling off the building because he's a clumsy idiot and then her plane going missing (btw, what's 90 miles west of Nashville?). She also didn't win the Oscar. Not that she needed to but I feel like it wasn't just creating a cliffhanger. They were specifically like, nope, good things don't happen to Juliette. 1 Link to comment

Are you all caught up now, hon? I've been enjoying your comments. That line about Avery and the divorce papers made me laugh. What's 90 miles west of Nashville? The same spot Patsy Cline's plane crashed into when she was killed. So...yeah. There's that parallel. Link to comment
aradia22 June 26, 2016 Share June 26, 2016 @Soup333 Yup, I'm all caught up. I used to love this show (though I was frustrated by St. Rayna very early on). I needed a break before I could get back into it and that break resulted in binge-watching all the episodes since the break over 2-3 days. It's less compulsively watchable than it used to be but it can still hook me when it's not being depressing and terrible. Oof. Real subtle. Though I'm at least glad to get some confirmation that they have to find the plane somewhere. It's not like it could be mysteriously lost at sea. I wouldn't put it past this show's writers to give her amnesia following her plane crash but we'll see what happens with the move to CMT. I really feel like I need Hayden to keep watching but part of me also wants her freed from this nonsense so she can go get a real Oscar nomination. Link to comment
kismet June 27, 2016 Share June 27, 2016 Perhaps obstruction could be something they charge Juliette with, but even that is not huge I think. Plus Luke & his son would face similar charges. Jeff fell it was tragic, but I can't see the courts going after any of them for Jeff's accident. Link to comment
