ElectricBoogaloo March 23, 2016 Share March 23, 2016 There's no question that Louis and Jessica make a great team. They each do their part to make sure everything runs smoothly at home, at the restaurant and the investment property. But when Eddie comes home with lice and infects others in the family, Louis leaves it to Jessica to clean up the mess. Meanwhile, Eddie tries to back out of a bet he made with his teacher, and his classmates suffer the consequences. Link to comment
alrightokay March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 As sweet as this episode was, it wasn't as strong as the past few. Maybe the whole "we're a team" issue got resolved too quickly. I still love all of the characters at Eddie's school, though, with the pinching principal, Trent and his slicked back "Pat Riley" hair, the trash-talking between Eddie and his teacher. And OMG, Grandma's line about what she would do if she were lice: crawl into Tom Selleck's mustache--so gross, yet so funny. The one reference that didn't seem to ring true was Jessica being a huge fan of Grease 2 and Michelle Pfeifer's Stephanie; that seemed to come out of the blue! (Then again, maybe Grease is what gave her the idea to wear black leather when playing pool a few episodes ago.) Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo March 30, 2016 Author Share March 30, 2016 Mr. EB said that when he was in sixth grade, they had a softball game (students vs. teachers/parents) but there was no pizza at stake. As mean spirited as it was to make the losers watch the winners eating their pizza, I still laughed. 1 Link to comment
peeayebee March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 I thought this ep was hilarious. Lice eps aren't my favorite, but the way the show did this was great. Everyone taking a step back whenever someone said they had lice. The 10-foot pole with the hand on the end that Louis used to stroke Evan's cheek then close the door. The school nurse saying she wasn't going to go near Eddie because she was going out tonight and even shaved. (I can related.) All of Eddie's friends were great, as usual. The teachers and principal were so funny. I really like Al Madrigal, so it was good to see him as Eddie's taunting teacher. The pinching principal was great, too. Loved his crab walk. 5 Link to comment
vibeology March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 I loved this. I think its one of the better takes on lice. I liked that Eddie enjoyed it, seeing as it meant missing school, chilling outside and cooking! (I really like that they're starting to layer in his love of cooking. Its a nice subtle easter egg.) I really like how Louis was forced to confront that Jessica was his equal and that she probably does even more than him everyday and Louis is one of those TV Dads who isn't a slouch in the chipping in department. (Except for the thing the other week and I think that seemed horribly out of character for him.) Seeing parents work together rather than bicker or be played off each other is nice. I also loved that when Louis was hiding out with Honey, he instinctively reached for the laundry to help out. That says so much about what sort of person he is. The basketball game was fun too. I really need to learn all the friend names, but I liked their teasing each other early in the show and I loved the one friend as coach. 4 Link to comment
peeayebee March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Trent – redheadWalter – black Dave – Ethan Hawke lookalikeBrian – sickly one I don't have a mnemonic for them. Maybe someone else does. BTW, the actor who plays Walter is Prophet Bolden. THAT'S a name to live up to. 3 Link to comment
TigerLily20 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 This episode made me laugh simply because my middle son had just came home with a note from his teacher stating they had lice in the classroom (again for like the 3rd time this year). Was really made when we missed the last grandma line due to some blurp from the station near the end of the episode about their weather team or something.... 1 Link to comment
ClareWalks March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Can I just state for the record that I ADORE Eddie's friends, particularly how the redhead wears a Cleveland Browns winter coat everywhere despite living in Orlando. 4 Link to comment
possibilities March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 The red haired kid looks like Donal Logue when wearing his coach outfit. I laughed at Jessica being charmed by Louis's "2 minutes is all I need" and that he got the mood music from the library. I love seeing shows make humor out of happy couples instead of ones who seem to hate each other. 8 Link to comment

BubblingKettle March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Jessica's "Lice are the pedophiles of the insect world" gave me such a good laugh! And I'm glad that they showed us that Emory is still a ladies man, having to tell a little girl to stop looking in his bedroom window. I also adore Eddie's friends -- I loved that Trent fled school with the bathroom pass/protractor and then cooled down with some iced tea while talking to Eddie from the window. It was so subtly funny! 6 Link to comment
peeayebee March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 CoolWhipLite, I'd forgotten those things you mentioned, but they were all great. The thing I loved about this ep is that every moment, every corner of this ep had something funny. 2 Link to comment
Rockstar99435 March 31, 2016 Share March 31, 2016 The red haired kid looks like Donal Logue when wearing his coach outfit. I laughed at Jessica being charmed by Louis's "2 minutes is all I need" and that he got the mood music from the library. I love seeing shows make humor out of happy couples instead of ones who seem to hate each other. Totally. I love that Jessica and Louis actually like each other. I love that they really are a team. And at the same time, they aren't perfect. Jessica is doing more of the emotional labor stuff that Louis didn't notice until Honey pointed it out. Having had to deal with lice, my heart swooned when Louis bought new sheets and said they were just going to burn the old ones. At a certain point in the process, especially if there is re-contamination, there is just too much laundry and killing it with fire is the only way to go. I liked Eddie this episode and I'm glad he made his miracle shot. But the flashback of the teachers enjoying the pizza on stage while the kids had to watch was great. His friends are great. I loved the sickly kid pointing out to Walter that being better than him is setting the bar pretty low. I can't remember all of it, but "flirting with scoliosis" made me laugh out loud. 7 Link to comment
jah1986 March 31, 2016 Share March 31, 2016 I really liked this episode. As mentioned above it wasn't laugh out loud funny but still enjoyable. I thought Trent was channeling Pat Riley at the game with the hair and suit. I like Eddie's friends too. How did Emery avoid getting lice? Honey is the perfect friend for Jessica. Also love that Louis and Jessica are a team. Her blush at the 4 minutes was adorable. 3 Link to comment
Camera One April 22, 2016 Share April 22, 2016 The Hazmat suit treatment of lice was funny. I know people like that for common colds. The message part of the story didn't work as well. Link to comment
