2016 Tryouts and Training Camp Spoilers and Spoiled Speculations

I really have no idea who could get cut. As we've said before, Jasmine was a total shock. And I had thought Ashley P, though slower to pick up new choreography, had great tumbling skills and should have stayed on the squad. If what someone said earlier is true, in that Vets are only taught the new choreographed segment 2 days before finals, it's no wonder Ashley P messed it up. She has no real dance background and learns dances slower than nearly all the DCCs. Kelli and Judy knew that, and they brought her onto the squad anyway. So it wasn't really fair to make her learn something so fast then perform it unless she was dragging down the learn-time of the squad and had to go.

Anyway, there's always a couple Rookie one-hit-wonders. I thought Kat might be one, for too flowy a style, maybe Jax cause of her looks and smile. I just don't know. And I agree that the only Vet I think might be in trouble for partying would be Caila. Guess we'll see!

Ashley Pro barely made the team her first year. She knew she would be expected to learn the final auditions routine quickly because she is a vet. She look a little soft in the middle, and her solo was not that great compared to some of the better finalists. She was simply outdanced, and she cannot blame Kelli and Judy for it. She knew the vets would only have a few days to learn the routine, and if she has a problem learning a new dance within a short period of time, she should not have tried out again. Imo, I think she made the team because of her looks aka the male appeal.

I like Emily Roslyn too.  I thought her personality was cute when she was in TC before and looking at her IG, most of the pictures of her during Mavs games are great. She doesn't look like she has crazy eyes there or anything.  I'd love to see her do well!

I agree.  As much as I was happy to see her make the team, it was obvious she didn't have the technical background to do it.  Kelli even said "does Ashley Pro know she's on the bubble?", which makes me think she had been a dance risk all season.

Me too, I give her props for coming back and trying out again. Hopefully she makes it back into TC.

@bigskygirl hit the nail on the head. Now I LOVE Ashley Pro. I think she's cute, sweet and adorable. She has the personality part and definitely the looks. Kitty has even said "the only reason she made this team is her gorgeous cat eyes."

 

I would have to argue that she can interview well also, but as far as dancing and technical ability, it's not there. DCC hardly ever tumble, and it's useless for show group because 9 times out of 10 SG performs in boots. its hard enough to dance and kick in them, let alone show off gymnastic ability. 

 

So while I love Ashley Pro, she really didn't deserve a spot back.

I often don't get to know the girls properly until their second year. Claire, Raylee and Chantal I really know nothing about.

I don't follow DCC's on twitter, mainly I just look them up on Instagram.

I wouldn't be surprised that if some rookies went (with the exception of Kat, Holly, Amy T  and Kashara) I wouldn't notice!

Up until a few weeks ago I didn't know much about Jenn, Lacey or even Erica's dancing. I'm a big fan of theirs now.

I wish people like Holly Arielle and Jacie had put more dance vids up.

I think that is why I am rooting for people like Kelsey Lowr, not only because she is stunning.. but because I've actually seen her dance!

Cannot wait for the fan vote vids.

I'm more invested this year because most of the girls have gone to prep classes and posted videos so we know how they dance. The fan vote video is one thing, just one style of dance but if a girl has dance videos on her instagram they're usually different styles and it's nice to see how well they do with each.

I think this a wise idea for the girls, because though they may be putting themselves up for scrutiny they are also building up a fanbase.

Im unsure as to how many (if any) vets will get cut this year. They're losing so many fabulous vets (Jacie, Holly, Mary!!!! Noooooo) they might want to hold on to the vets they already have, or they'll end up a really, really inexperienced squad. But who knows. Hopefully Caila got a shock after looking at the swimsuit photos and has toned up a bit?! 

On a side note, I wish All Star Mia would feature more in MTT. She'd be a great mentor - probably better than Melissa. Has anyone seen Melissa in the news or anything in regards to the baby? Or is she not news worthy in the US? Lol

Yes, Ashley Pro was a bubbler when she made the squad, but she did make the squad and Kelli/Judy knew what they were getting into. From the tiny bit we saw of her solo routine (if you've seen a full length version, I'd love to see it so would love a link!), it was rather the same as the solo routines that got her into TC twice. Yes, she pulled her one flip because she was afraid of landing on the spectators' laps, but that was the only flub we saw. Even Neil said her solo routine was "pretty good." She's not a technical dancer, so she's never going to have solos like the gals who have danced for years. Even taking dance throughout her Rookie year was not going to put her on par with the dancers. 

However, I mentioned and agree with you that she may have been a slow dance learner all year, so that probably played into her being a bubbler going into the finals. I'm sad, because I thought she got put on the spot A LOT during S9 TC, and handled it all with such grace and presence of mind.

Just for clarification purposes: I didn't say Ashley P blamed Kelli or Judy for her not making the squad. Just putting that out there, cause that's how rumors get started! lol

I agree ... I think she's too desperate.  And I know she probably told K+J that she quit her job to show just how much she wants to be a DCC but I don't think they took that as a positive.  She is better at flipping her hair than she is at dancing (I'm sorry to say).

I hope they don't take her into TC cause I would hate for her to quit her job again or make any other big decisions because she wants to be DCC.

No, it's Jax and Amy L's roommate, Lindsay. I don't think she tried on this past weekend? 

Jax really IS a great dancer - that's why she's not in my danger zone lol Like Stephanie, neither girl was featured much on the show but in every clip I've seen, they look like wonderful performers and work really hard.

She's going to college next year so assume she won't be back for auditions?  She's going to texas A&M - she confirmed on social media.  From one of the tweets her friends wrote, it appears she did not get into Yale.  Hopefully she learns the lesson in not assuming things and posting them on social media before confirming.  Yale is hardly ever a "sure thing" for anyone!

Imo, I do not think Judy wanted Ashley Pro on the team. I think it was Kelli with her male appeal why of thinking  that got Ashley on the team. Neal's "pretty good" comment was nice, but we all know "pretty good" comment for a veteran is not going to cut it in the DCC world. I like Jay's "she should be out there in the solar system" way of saying it. Ashley was out danced in the solo and on the field. On the other hand, Caila was on the bubble her first year, and she came back and worked her butt on to make the squad again. I do not think Ashley and Breelan were working hard to get their spot back.

Agreed.  They have said so much before, that Kelli looks for the pretty girls who have potential and Judy wants the technical dancers.  Judy was NEVER going to want Ashley Pro on the team even though she did say at least once she thought she was a sweet girl.  I think the potential and the fact that Ashley was so well liked by her teammates helped her out. But not enough to keep her on the team more than a year. 

Will be really interesting to see if Caila gets everything together for this weekend.  I can't help but like her!!

BigSkyGal - Totally agree re Judy not wanting wanted Ashley on the squad; nor Breelan, for that matter.  However, being a DCC takes more that dance skill. As we all know, it takes a combination of dance, looks and composure. I think Kelli and Judy compliment one another regarding who they choose to be on the squad.  And I thought Ashley Pro had looks and composure in spades.  Ah, well. (Breelan making the squad was more of a surprise for me than Ashley P. That startled look whenever she did something off, and the turtle neck would have, I'da thought, gotten her cut.)

I don't know how much either Ashley or Breelan prepared for their 2nd auditions. They'd be fools not to prepare heavily - all the Vets would be. But we know good sense doesn't always rule the day when you're young, beautiful and a DCC, cause we've seen it over and over again.

I don't know why they keep asking Melissa to come back (other than the CMT relationship and the "famous" aspect).  She adds nothing to the show and having a more recent vet or Michelle Keys would be better and more value add!

 

I don't mean to sound mean but I hope some vets get cut -- it's boring otherwise lol.  Maybe Caila because she did gain weight and Kat because I still don't think she has the style. Stephanie's face scares me a bit (sorry - harsh) ... it looks fake and something's off with her eyes.  But during the season's photo shoot, Kelli said she was super photogenic ... how can that be???

I like Certsen too! Her facials are a little much but hey, at this point it helps make her memorable. She had solid turns and kicks and great power and punctuation.  Looking forward to seeing more of her?? 

And yeah, weird about Celinda's? I wonder if it had technical issues? 

ETA: Mariyah KILLED it! girl can dance! i'm just afraid her weight/build may be an issue but dang, her kick was to the nose!

I just keep checking the video section of the cowboys' site.  They keep appearing now, even though they say uploaded 8 hours ago? There aren't a ton of them yet. I bet by tonight they'll be up and voting will open, or tomorrow AM at latest! so excited!!

And I will give Kelsey benefit of the doubt at this point lol She is one I HAVE seen other dancing from so I know she is capable. The other girls I've never seen before I have no choice but to go off this video so if they are awkward/clumsy...sorry bout it.

While I think the choreography is way better than LY's train wreck, it still seems a bit disjointed in my eyes. I've only seen 2 videos though, so I may get used to it!

That's interesting because I think Robin is pretty safe. But Kat and Simone are definitely my "danger zone" girls.

I agree that Robin is safe. Robin, Bess, Kat and Chantel are all in my safe section :)  It's after Chantel and the period that I list my danger ones.

Aw I like Cersten! She was fun to watch. I don't know what it was about Kelsey's but after seeing her in insta vids I feel disappointed with that one?! Lol hope she can pull it off better next weekend! Despite that, Cersten and Kelsey are definitely my favourite two right now.

I don't think there's technical issues with Celindas video- she's so obviously looking over to the person marking it, the point where it cut off look like she's forgot and they've cut it short to spare her the embarrassment lol.

I've never followed MTT from this stage before, only once the series has started (albeit watching a week later than you lot via youtube). I love that I can watch the videos and follow the hopefuls a bit. 

Get a bit more invested in the rookies than before.
