Joe quoted Reagan & Madison on the campaign trail to excite voters.

Doris Goodwin started singing songs about Kennedy & FDR.

Hopefully, Mika & Joe aren't looking at Florida's live election day voting results.

Joe is mad at the city of Milwaukee for moving ballots from the city to an undisclosed location to count ballots. The results will be released in the middle of the night.

Joe said it would fuel conspiracy theories.

No joke, Sherlock. That is a concept that absolutely no one has ever brought up. Geez.

And they got so excited they slammed the door in his face. Because he was doing it this weekend.

Doris it's not even 10 am. Little early to be hitting the hooch, isn't it?

MSNBC does not allow guests to consume alcohol on the set. Doris has been known to "pregame" before Morning Joe segments. :)

Joe actually just said Dems didn't respond to the border issue.

So what about that bill that was bipartisan that Trump killed, Joe? The most conservative bill for border policy in decades??

Joe sounds thrilled to be able to openly bash Democrats.

It's obvious Joe wants to be invited to that Mar A Lago NYE party.

I'm listening to the show and cannot believe the way Joe is acting. He should be ashamed of himself. He's almost laughing about this.

Is this the same man who has bashed Trump for the last seven years???

I'm expecting Joe to announce he's going to be an advisor to Trump any minute now.

He is such a self serving schmuck.

They're such snow flakes they can't take a little ribbing from tv shows, etc?

If men believe that bs about transgender kids like that ad said, than God help them.

I enjoy this show, although Mika bugs me.  I’ve agreed with all the show’s months long commentary regarding the election.  I think Joe reacted exactly the way he should have this morning.  I also enjoyed everyone’s take on how the election ended the way it did.  I appreciated the show reminding viewers that history repeats itself and we must move forward.  I do not believe Joe wants anything to do with Trump.

Joe is running true to form.

I don't recognize Joe today. His initial comments are the opposite of what he has been saying for the last few years. It will take a while to recap this show. However, I am having flashbacks to the episode after Trump won in 2016. It was before a live audience.

Joe is just reveling in being able to shit talk Democrats and act like he can be a Republican again.

I agree. He was positively a Trump cheerleader

If anyone would like to take a break from Joe and his bullshit, here's a link to the interview with Tressie MacMillan Cottom on The Daily Show last night.

She very calmly, and brilliantly I might add, laid out how Trump pulled this off.

And in case you think Joe really changed and isn't a Republican anymore, he called this the greatest red wave since Reagan's 1984 election.  He is a Republican again.  That is until Trump won't let him in Mar A Lago and calls Mika a psycho b**** with a bad facelift again.

WTF in less than 48 hours we went from Trump is unfit to be president, he’s facist to the core, he has and uses Nazi memes and images, blah blah blah to he’s a political genius who has changed the country in a way no one’s done in 50 years

What we are seeing from Joe now....is pure, unvarnished Joe. Over his years as "MJ" he has at times been insightful, smart, and has a sense of humor when he wants to.  But the last couple of days he is so angry and entitled  that I have to turn him off

He defines himself as who he was Back in his Days in Congress with Newt Gingrich. He seems completely burnt out.

I hardly ever watch anymore - make my comments based mostly on the comments this wonderful group (especially Oakville ... for years) comes up with.

Joe's post-election mood is giving his viewers whiplash. Now he blames Democrats for not rebutting the GOP on transgender surgeries for illegal immigrants & having an open border for illegal immigrants during Biden's first 3.5 years in office. This is absurd. Joe used to routinely dismiss any statistics about immigration levels during the first 3 years of the Biden administration. He would just compare stats on the last few months with the Trump administration.

FFS when Joe went off on the anti trans ads that played during NFL games that the Harris campaign didn’t respond to I thought #1 shame on them.  No attack should be ignored especially when it was your opponent’s policy that created the thing you’re falsely being attacked for

#2  using trans people, Hatians, Puerto Ricans and “vermin’s infecting our blood” etc as a winning strategy is sick and disgusts me. I naively try to believe most people are better than that

When I saw that $7 butter thing, I knew she was shopping at Whole Foods. I work at Trader Joe's and even Kerrygold butter isn't that expensive.  That's why us poors call Whole Foods "Whole Paycheck".

I do think now that the Dems spoke too much about Jan 6 and Trump way more than they spoke to how people feel about the economy, etc.  The economy is better and inflation is back to about where it should be.  That is a fact. But it doesn't matter if people don't feel that way.  You have to get to where people live, which is their income and how they're doing.  People expect the government to handle the Jan 6 stuff, the stolen documents, and foreign policy.  They aren't paying attention to that and it doesn't affect them. (It could affect them but it's not foremost in their thinking). They want to know how you'll make it easier to pay for stuff.  Even if the other guy has "policies" that are going to make it worse in the long run, if he makes them feel like "yeah this guy knows what I need" (when he doesn't really give two shits about you) he'll get the vote.

My two cents.

Okay I turned it on at 6 am. WTF is going on?

Joe is spending over five minutes reading some article from a newspaper.

I can't take this.  They are just talking about the same stuff over and over for the last 3 days. I'm out. Enjoy your little circle jerk, Morning Joe.

Something is really messed up here this morning. The blame game? The dems don’t listen to Joe Rogan. They don’t listen to workers. The don’t listen to black men, Hispanic men, Asians, white non suburban women, blah blah blah

Even Rev Al hasn’t got a word of encouragement

Bottom line the Dems are out of touch they’re elitists and they have no one to lead them out of the wilderness

It's easier than admitting how much the media plays into the outcome of elections.  Harris would be ridiculed for everything and Trump was not questioned about anything. If he did something so insane even Fox couldn't deal with it, they wouldn't talk about it. They just wouldn't show it.

Sure on MSNBC and sometimes on CNN they'd show the crazy Ave Maria Concert or his racist rants, etc. but they're preaching to the choir.  I heard people saying they voted for Trump "because he's funny". Yeah this isn't AGT, Stand up edition.

I read somewhere that somebody in the media was blaming George Clooney for writing the letter about Biden. As if Biden would have won. This was a referendum on Biden as much as Harris.

Face it. People don't want an old white guy who tried to make their lives better, who stood with unions, brought the economy and the country out of a pandemic, worked to fix the infrastructure, forgive student loans, etc.

They want an old white guy who tells them it's okay to hate people that don't look like them, and that he'll somehow make their lives easier by taking away the safety nets we have in place.

And they sure as hell didn't want a black woman who they knew nothing about other than "she had four years why didn't she fix everything". You can't explain how the executive branch works to people who don't care that they just put a convicted felon in charge of the country.

We're trying to apply logic to insanity. It's a fool's errand.

I am shocked that Jen would tell Democrats to stop focusing on Never Trumpers on a show that is the HQ of Never Trumpers. On any given show there are at least 2 or 3 Never Trumpers not including Joe.  Lemire nodded yes at Jen's commentary. I doubt Elise Jordan or Charlie Sykes will send her a Christmas card.

https://x.com/kenklippenstein/status/1854955727929954539

Jen doesn't care about Never Trumpers. i have to say I thought the Liz Cheney hook up was overblown. I know everyone thinks she saved the country or whatever with being on the Jan 6 committee, and it was a good thing to do, but you don't get extra points for doing one good thing when your career has been an uber conservative Republican who voted with Trump 95% of the time.

Liz Cheney actually said it didn't even dawn on her the awful tings that would happen if Roe was overturned.  Gee thanks Liz.  Thanks for nothing.

Was there an uncomfortable interview this morning between Joe and Bob Woodward? A friend told me that Joe was impatient with him; Meeka tried to intervene and smooth things over. Did not work, show went to commercial. Woodward was gone when show came back.

Was she (friend, a fellow oldster) hallucinating? Seems this would be kind of newsy.

Friday recap.

Mika is wearing her brown Star Wars robe.

Mika completed her initial comments in a friendly manner.

Joe called the Financial Times a poor man's Economist.

Joe said deindustrialization has affected the USA.

Joe read from the Financial Times.

Trump is not an aberration.

Neo-liberalism failed the industrial areas of the USA.

The rise of woke liberalism helped racial & sexual minorities but failed the working class.

Zanny from the Economist said the USA rules-based order is being challenged.

Democrats are the party of the elite.

Willie admitted Trump won 45% of Latino Americans and improved his votes with young & black people.

Carlos said Democrats have to stop micro-targeting voters.

Demography is no longer destiny . Trump is forming a multi-racial coalition.

Could Morning Joe be forced to change some of their regulator contributors?

Joe said voters weren't paying attention to Trump talking about Sharks & Hannibal Lecter despite the amount of time that was spent on cable news shows discussing Trump's outrageous comments.

They were media events but voters were concerned about grocery prices.

Zanny said some people in Kyiv wanted Trump to win because the Biden administration was too timid about sending weapons to Ukraine. Trump is transactional and wants a deal to stop the war.

Joe said betting on elections helped Trump energize young male voters.

Joe has been very restrained at insulting Trump or his supporters today.

VanderHei couldn't believe that Democrats lost the Senate & Presidency. Democrats are losing everywhere, cities, suburbs etc.

Vanderhei wonders why young voters and Hispanics are moving toward Trump. Democrats don't have a clear new leader.

Joe said Kamala was within a few points in the Blue Wall.

Joe admitted Democrats are doing worse in Florida & Texas & 46 other states.

They did win 2 Senate seats in the Blue wall.

Joe's new talking points start with history in 2004. GOP in 2004... Tea Party in 2010.. Obama back in 2014.. GOP controls the Senate ..The Red wave came back in 2024.
