What that doesn't say is that you can get ratings from a  viewer turning on a show for just a few minutes. Sorry Joe. I know this is hard for you to believe that people aren't watching all four hours for your riveting takes re world events and your pathetic fanboy love of Ronald Reagan.

I've watched Way Too Early (the dog gets me up at 5 to go out) occasionally the last few days. It's basically Morning Joe without the smug prick and the cry talker.

VP debates don’t matter. The greatest line ever in a VP debate: 1988 Lloyd Bentsen to Dan Quayle. Didn’t make a difference

It’s so impossible to cover all of Trump’s BS why even try. There have been six different debate moderators on three different networks and all have been proven to be incompetent. They don’t ask pertinent questions and so the candidates are left  to answer questions no one cares about or to repeat lie after lie with little or no push back

Every day every show every MSNBC hosts starts with this might be the last debate we see. Who cares

The Harris campaign should buy a half hour of TV time and run the greatest expo on all the Trump BS

Donny admitted that Vance was slick but he disqualified himself for saying that Trump did not lose the election.

Donny said it wasn't UFC. Trump will be upset that Vance did better than Trump at the debate.

Walz should have asked Vance about his lack of support for Ukraine.

Elise Jordan said Walz should have had a better answer about being in Tiamin Square during the revolt in 1989.

Mika said Trump lies every day.

JD Vance lied about the ACA.

Joe supports Madisonian Democracy. Joe supports the peaceful transition of power.

Joe is mad at Trump for the Jan 6th riots.

Republicans support JD Vance being at the top of the ticket.

He also lied about not supporting a federal ban on abortion when he has said he would definitely support it, about Harris allowing immigration to run wild, about the Haitian immigrants in Springfield being illegal when they are not, and would not say that Biden won the 2020 election.

But sure, Joe, give him points for style.  His style is a lying couch humping weirdo.

Just saw the Daily Beast/Morning Joe article. Joe can't support the GOP because blah blah blah. Except for his Ronald Reagan/Liz Cheney fan fiction, he does not support the GOP.

I'm not remotely surprised that Joe is making the Cheney endorsement and Springsteen video endorsement about himself.  "I'm a man without a party". Oh stfu. You did this to yourself. You and Mika helped normalize Trump and make people think he could be a good President. So f*** you and your pity party.

And you have the gall to bring up Newt Gingrich and what he did to the Country???

https://www.americanprogress.org/article/idea-of-the-day-gingrichs-republican-congress-not-responsible-for-1998-budget-surplus/

https://www.npr.org/2019/01/12/683304824/the-longest-government-shutdown-in-history-no-longer-how-1995-changed-everything

Gingrich's little stunt led to the gridlock we deal with now. So thanks Joe, but your revisionist history is bullshit.

LOL the Gingrich white washing was ridiculous

Joe is such an asshole.   Man without a party?  Dude you are still part of the party that turned this country into the partisan nightmare it is today.

You lie about how great Reagan and Gingrich were. They were monsters who played into the fears of white people to keep a stranglehold on power.

Nicole Wallace is a former Republican and we don't hear her waxing poetic about Reagan, Gingrich, or even Bush.  She may talk about her "former party" occasionally, but she keeps her focus on current events, not reliving the glory days (barf) of the GOP like Joe does.

Maybe MSNBC should put a QR code on the screen so viewers can fact check Joe's lies.

Also Nicole rarely speaks about John McCain

And she wouldn't vote for him because he allowed himself to be talked into having Sarah Palin be his VP nominee. She realized 16 years ago that it was better to put country over party.

Joe claims that he believes this, but it's obvious he still believes in the Republican party of Reagan, Gingrich and Bush.  He's not even a good enough actor to pretend.  He blurts it out every chance he gets.

You have a party, Joe. It's the party of gaslighting, economic ruin and unnecessary wars.  You can deny it all you want, but every time you praise Ronald Reagan, you show your true feelings.

Once, just once, I would like to see a guest or Friend of Show bring up Joe's complicit-ness (I know, not a word) in the mess that he and his full-of-themselves cronies made of the political process.  They are partly responsible for the Marjorie Taylor Greenes and the multitude of others that have been elected - many due to gerrymandering. Maybe The Daily Show could do a parody of Joe waxing nostalgic? I know SNL would not (but it would be awesome!) because they are on NBC.

Whatever The Twins are selling...it is working. Bigly.

It is actually a word!!  We would also accept complicity.

Heileman may be the only one who has the balls to call Joe out on his bullshit, which he has done occasionally. Sometimes you get to the point you are just too exhausted to keep telling someone they're lying thru their teeth. Also, it's 6 am.   Who is awake enough to want to get into a pissing match with Joe at that hour?

I tell people my silence is not an indication of my agreeing with you.  I'm hoping my eyeroll and walking away will suffice.

Nicole could have quit the McCain campaign after he picked Palin. She could have endorsed Barack Obama.

Nicole was a regular guest on Morning Joe in 2016 when she earned the nickname of Cackles for her frequent laughing on the set. She didn't say anything negative about Trump when he appeared on the show. She would complement him and tell him that her parents were strong Trump supporters.

Joe was happy that Pete Alonso hit a 3-run HR to win the series.

America is not prepared for a Phillies- Mets series.

Mika is off today & Joe is in the NY studio.

Joe is impressed with Bruce Springsteen's endorsement of Harris. He is sitting in a diner & wearing a flannel top. Joe said this will help Harris win blue-collar voters.

Yeah we all like Bruce Springsteen but he’s a democrat and has endorsed democrats for years

I’d like that other guy from NJ Chris Christy endorse VP. He didn’t win two terms with republican voters only

Joe was a guest at the 30th anniversary of the Contract with America signing.

His group balanced the budget. Joe admitted there were some crazies in his caucus but so did the Democrats

Joe is sad that he doesn't have a party to vote for.

Boo effing-Hoo for Joe. I vividly remember (since we were living right outside of DC at the time) the strutting and preening Joe, Newt and their cohorts did while passing the Contract with America.

Joe said Harris has to put more Joy in her ads.

There is not much I can add to this comment. Other than... Joe would be the first one to poke fun at her for - what? Being too happy happy in the ads? A woman can be positive and radiate confidence; that is what impresses voters.

Joe is spinning his memories of the Glory Days. He is out-of-touch with the reality of what decades of the policies he and his cronies have wrought on this country. He lives in a bubble - lots of money, trophy wife (don't come at me), can pick and choose what people, places and things he can push and talk about. I just can't take but bits of him here and there. I feel like this about The Young and the Restless, too.

The panel was quiet during Joe's monologue. They don't remember Joe's glory days the same way as Joe.

I did detect that Joe was worried about Harris winning the election. Joe said that Harris had to "clean up her positions from 2019". Joe is upset that the Trump campaign is using Harris's speeches from her time in the Senate & during her Presidential campaign against her. Joe is worried that male Hispanic, African American & older white males in the Midwest voters won't support her as much as they did Biden.

Will Springsteen & Liz Cheney be enough to put Harris over the top?

Donny wants George W Bush to endorse Harris? Joe said Bush wasn't popular when he left office. Joe said he criticized Bush for his high deficit & war in Iraq. Joe felt vindicated after other Republicans agreed with him in 2009.

Could Joe deposit some of his bonus to keep Lemire like he did with Mika?

From Reddit:

Some news from Dylan Byers newsletter (he writes a media column for Puck News. The column is focused on cost-cutting that is impacting the salaries of anchors.

“At MSNBC, for instance, Jonathan Lemire recently signalled that he no longer wants to host Way Too Early, his current $750,000-a-year gig, but wants more than the customary $250,000-a-year contributor contract to continue working as a Morning Joe regular. Joe Scarborough himself told Lemire he would go to NBC News chief Cesar Conde and NBCUniversal C.E.O. Mike Cavanagh and even Comcast C.E.O. Brian Roberts to argue on his behalf, but the offer came back the same. In a previous era, NBC probably would have honoured Lemire’s petition to work more hospitable hours, recognizing his past sacrifice hosting a 5 a.m. show, and found a way to make it work. Alas, there’s no such flexibility anymore.”

Harris ads that show her support for gender transition surgeries in 2019. They are shown on football games

In the Venn diagram that includes morons who care about gender transition surgeries and those who watch football, there is no overlap with the "voting democrat" circle.

Also, how is it possible that there are undecideds?

Joe likes Lemire. He agrees with Joe on virtually all issues.

If Joe needs him there for his yes man, he can go back to being a guest and turn over Way to Early to an MSNBC reporter.
I’m still wondering whyYasmin Vossoughian was yanked from her show and given a rarely seen reporter job

I agree back then (appearing on MJ) Nicole was annoying.  But let's face it, the entire show was maddening with how everyone was treating Trump like he was a normal successful business person running for President.  At least she wasn't so lame as to show up at Mar A Lago on NYE, uninvited.

I also think her realizing how awful Palin was came somewhat gradually to her. She had a job to do, she worked for the McCain campaign.  But knowing that if something happened to McCain, Palin would become President was a bridge too far.

As far as endorsing Obama, it wasn't going to happen. That would have been career suicide.  Back then she was still a Republican operative.  There was no hosting gig on MSNBC in her future, yet.

I think the point of comparing Joe and Nicole is that they both belonged to the party that hasn't been great for the country, to say the least. But Nicole keeps however she feels about her past work to herself.  Joe seems to be rather proud of taking part in a lot of bad policies, and worshipping people who should be scorned for the bullshit they sold to America.

If you did dumb shit in the past, keep it to yourself. Don't brag about it, Joe.

I just couldn’t this morning. I was about five minutes in when I realized I hadn’t heard another person’s voice other than Joe’s. It was the SIXTEEN minute mark on my DVR before someone else spoke. It was too damn early in the morning for a sermon. So I turned it off and turned on the Off Menu podcast and had a much happier morning.

How about MSNBC let's Lemire take the pay cut and only appear on shows as the contributor, and see if Yasmin wants to take the Way Too Early show back, as she did an excellent job.

In case anyone didn't see, John Oliver's "And Now This..." segment this week was "Mika Brzezinski tells everyone to shut the fuck up about sports".  It was pretty funny. Michael Moore asked Joe if he talks about sports  with the intent of pissing off Mika.  Oh Michael you're so naive. Joe doesn't have to have conscious intent to piss off anyone. It comes as naturally as breathing to him.

Mika & Joe were evacuated from Florida & arrived in the studio.

Hurricane Milton is the top story. It may make landfall in my favourite vacation place, Sarasota.

President Biden has postponed a trip overseas to deal with the hurricane.

Mika said Trump is lying about FEMA's response to the hurricanes.

Mika was outraged that Trump said FEMA money is being used to house illegal immigrants.

I didn't see today's show so I'm not familiar with what WSJ did.  Is it the stuff about Biden mismanaging Helene response? Or Trump sending covid tests to Putin?

However, we all know it's owned by the Murdoch's, so no one should expect it to print fair analyses of anything. It's slanted toward the wealthy and corporations.  It scorns anyone who isn't able to use offshore accounts, tax write offs, loopholes and anything short of blatantly breaking the law.

THE WSJ published an editorial from JD Vance that criticized the Biden administration response to Helene.

Mika was outraged that Trump gave Putin covid tests & talked to him after he left office.
