Kyle - Celebrity Apprentice

Any opinions on this one? When I read she was on it, I thought it was yet another competition between her and Kim, since Kim and her daughter are going to be on some other C list reality show. I don't know how well Kyle will do because I don't know that she's a real business woman, yet Brandi did well, right? (I only know what I read in headlines since I don't watch it.) I've also read that out of all the participants, Kyle is the only one staying at her own home every night instead of the hotel, despite what editing will show. Seems like she may not trust Mauricio as much as she claims.

IMO Mauricio is the one with the business connections that might bring her over the top. With her event planning/retail store/charity experience she might do very well organizing different fund raising events. I can't blame her for wanting to go home every night with a young child, though I agree she doesn't want Mauricio on his own.

Think I'll give it a side eye this season.

Snappy, I'm glad you mentioned this because I was confused when I read about it previously.  We took a break from this show for a couple of years, then went back to it last year (or whenever Brandi was on it).  I'm looking forward to seeing how Kyle does on this show.  I'm not much of a Kyle fan, but I'm curious.

Or she has minor children at home.

This show is technologically based so I am not giving Kyle strong odds in being in the top ten.  Now if it is about fund raising I think she will wipe the floor with this group.

 

I wonder who her charity ill be?  LA Childrens' Hospital or Lyme disease.  :)

I think Kyle will do just fine and I'm rooting for her. I fully confess that I tuned into CE so that I could see Brandi and Kenya (Kenya actually managed to make Brandi tolerable from time to time! Crazy how awful Kenya is that she can make Brandi fucking Glanville seem like she's okay.) 

 

I'll definitely watch. I'd love another HW to be on from another franchise. Maybe somebody like Heather Dubrow or Luann. 

 

I don't think not wanting to stay at the hotel is about not trusting Mauricio. I'm sure she just wants to be with her family.

I think it is different to travel out of town for a few nights on the HW show or for the store and another to be that close to home while staying in a hotel for the duration of filming, which, BTW, could take weeks, several weeks.

Why would she stay in a hotel when she is within driving distance?  I think this may differ from the Trump Apprentice series in that didn't the participants stay at a Trump Hotel?  I am sure production doesn't mind not paying for a hotel room.  I don't recall there being a lot Celebrity Apprentice being based around the contestants and their hotel rooms.  

 

Sounds like her agent did a good job of negotiating.

When Brandi was on CA, she teamed up with Johnny Damon and more or less rode on the coattails of Leeza Gibbons (who won the whole thing.) Until she firmed up those alliances, she was the oddball out--petulant, not really a team player, etc. Until either Leeza or Geraldo got the picture that leveraging Kenya's and Brandi's animosity would work, it was pretty tense between those two.

 

The second time Lisa Rinna was on, she made it to the top 4. I think Trumpster was aiming for a final between Penn Jillette and Trace Adkins, so he fired Lisa for some very trivial reason. As expected, she excelled at event planning and fund-raising, so I expect about the same from Kyle.

I would expect that Kyle would do pretty good on account of her connections, which one would think will help her raise a fair amount of dough. That being said, I will be shocked if she wins. Kyle is a people pleaser and a team player, but as a leader not so much. I imagine she will play for the children's hospital in LA though, so good for her, going on CA.

I thought I read somewhere that Porsha from RHoA will be on too.

If I were Kyle, I'd stay at home too. I don't think it has anything to do with trusting Mauricio. As others have said she has young children. Hotels are OK at first, but they get old quick. Being able to go home after a long day of drama and competition sounds like a brilliant idea.

I expect Kyle to do well. I'll be watching.

Yes. A huge part of CA is how many high rollers the participants can phone to deliver checks (essentially negating the need for any real business savvy), so Kyle may well score some serious bucks for her charity. Mo (and probably Portia) will appear with the no assholes sign (so adorable *eye roll*) and a whopper of a check from The Agency coffers; Beth will arrive with a Skinny Girl check and then blather about Skinny Girl; Lisar will show up to cackle, shriek and get some camera time.

 

[magic memory moment] do you remember when The Apprentice wasn't just about calling rich friends -- when the anonymous participants actually had to plan and execute challenges with limited resources  and little sleep? When Bill Rancic was not yet a reality show fame whore? When a participant got fired from her (real life) job because she made an on-camera comment that was interpreted as anti-Semetic? When Omarosa told the board room she had served as 'presidential person' (or something random) in Al Gore's office? Good times. [/magic memory moment]

Aubrey O'Day made it pretty far without many rich or famous friends. That's the only season I watched. Kyle is no Aubrey O'Day.
