S02.E02: Heart Me

Recommended Posts

When Raven's friend, Tracey (Lyndon Smith), is fired, evicted and her bank accounts emptied as a result of being hacked by a man she met on a dating app, Raven helps to locate the culprit. However, Raven asks for her team's help when the hacker is found dead and Tracy wakes up in a motel room with the murder weapon and no memory of what happened

I can't even begin to discuss Mundo's family issues or whatever that plot was (your dating apps will kill you -- or get you framed for the murder of some poor random dude who went to the wrong actual frame store), but please, someone tell me that D.B. being divorced (did we know that?) will never, ever, ever lead to some kind of romantic relationship with Patricia Arquette's character.  I would say that I hatewatch this show but I don't care enough about it to hate it, really; however, that would drive me over the edge.

I kept waiting for there to be some payoff to the horrendous spacious glass shower sex scene mention-- like, I don't know, Mr. How Dare You Be Suspicious Cop getting a tip that somebody was sliding down Raven's drainpipe the night of the swat, but, nope.

I kind of liked this episode. Other than realizing I have acquired an irrational hate for James Van Der Beek. I get that they need a studly type to bust down doors and arrest people but he just sucks and blows, IMO

The rest of it was fair to middlin'.

So the local PD would wait for a SWAT team after a 911 call but no. backup would be on the street.

The same thing happened on the CSI finale an "elite" SWAT team is used in a situation where a regular patrol car was called for.

He's okay, but if I'm going to watch the studly type do the door-busting and tackling, I prefer watching Morgan from 'Criminal Minds'.

I was confused for the first few minutes, because I thought that the murdered guy was the porn site guy and that their two cases had become one.  I guess because the names were 'Bristow' and 'Rizzo' I mixed them up.

I didn't like hearing about DB's divorce.  I wonder if we'll get more details at some point (I seem to remember that his wife had wanted to move back to Oregon or Washington state or something).

Your dating apps will kill you -- and everyone you love.  It could happen to you.

Meanwhile in the real world, set your boss up on a dating app and you'll have a short meeting with HR and be told that they will ship you your belongings.

Don't know if DB is an asset or a liability yet, but I'm (shallowly) not pleased with how little Van der Beek I'm getting.

That scene with Mundo crying in his car was just terribly acted -- and the child actor wasn't very good either.

I only watched a couple of episodes in the first season but at least it looks more like a CSI with DB doing the CSI work. But why would he be wearing a Cyber Division lab coat? I know the franchise logos everything but it still seems like he justs likes hanging around that part of the building because that is where Agent Ryan is. And when she catches a case he volunteers to help

Mostly D.B. seems to be showing Patricia Arquette cool gadgets that he's playing with on company money for no apparent reason.

Mundo was a real ass about Raven's friend to Raven.  He had pretty much decided she was guilty because she had priors.  Way to follow the evidence, Mundo!

I can't remember if it was in the CSI finale or the Cyber season premiere, but I did notice a couple shots where you could see DB's ringless left hand, and it did make me wonder what was going on.  I couldn't remember for sure if he had worn a wedding ring or not, though, so I just dismissed it.  I guess I need to start following the evidence as well.

I watched the premiere because of Danson, after never having seen the show, and he alluded to a new beginning or something like that, so that and no ring and the fact that he never seemed to see his wife (Roz from Frasier!) I guessed that yeah, they had divorced. Does that mean we're getting Mary Steenburgen as his love interest?

Maybe Roz got fed up with his weird codependency on Fin and moved to her dream house in Seattle by herself.

I guess it depends if Mary Steenburgen dates on the app they just discovered makes it simple for people to make fake accounts and stalk you.  And would look at the profile of a guy who has the user name "Dolla Bill."

I guess I just always liked that D.B. seemed stable and emotionally mature.  Not that stable and emotionally mature people can't end up divorced, but it doesn't seem necessary.

Case of the week about had all the hot-button issues.  Dating apps, stalkers because of said dating apps, revenge hacking, etc.  And then there is the whole revenge porn website deal, which I'm guessing is going to be a more long-term arc kind of thing.  I wonder who they will cast to play this dude, that everyone really, really wants to get.

At least Raven was the one front and center, and I'll certainly prefer more of her, compared to Krummy.  And it was cool seeing Lyndon Smith in a role set in modern times (compared to Public Morals.)

Ted Danson is still pretty fun, but poor D.B. seems stuck in the role of just randomly showing up with some nifty knew tech and science stuff, and then being made fun of by all the younger folks.

At least someone was smart enough to have Elijah cover his face when he broke down, because even though I have fondness for The Beek, there was a good reason why everyone mocked his crying face on Dawson's Creek.  A very, very good reason for that.

When he was on the original CSI, Russell was happily married, now all of a sudden he's divorced? WTF?

They had some serious issues when the grand-daughter(?) or daughter was threatened or kidnapped. I don't quite remember but I think she left to another state to stay with the daughter. Divorce is not unusual from that point.
