McManda October 14, 2015 Share October 14, 2015 I think Leon is lying. I just don't buy it. I just don't. Oh, me too. That's his MO, ever the martyr. Nothing is ever his fault, he's just a victim of circumstance. My guess is he's stretching the truth. He claims $1,300 a week ... I'm thinking more like $1,300 a charter. And considering they're what, 3 day/2 night cruises (which is ... 6 meals? lunch/dinner, breakfast/lunch/dinner, breakfast) then he's got $12 per person per meal, and he's definitely not spending $12 per person on something like breakfast where he's serving eggs and fruit, or $12 per meal on the crew. Plus ... beef cheeks are cheap because there's virtually no demand for them, especially in the US. He's lucky (or smart) he chose that to be his specialty. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1601304
ryebread October 14, 2015 Share October 14, 2015 Ohhhh. Boat porn in the morn. Thank you. There was one Power Ball winner in Michigan last week. $310 million. She took the one time payout of $190 million. Mr. Ryebread and I decided that, had we won, we wouldn't tell a soul but would charter a boat and set sail for a few weeks to wrap our heads around winning and how/who we would eventually tell. We definitely would not have chosen a boat as big as the Palm Beach but a master suite similar to that one would be nice. That looked awesome. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1601479
Bruinsfan October 14, 2015 Share October 14, 2015 I've always wondered about people taking the one-time payout. Unless you intend to buy a large company or sports team immediately, it seems like it would make more sense to take the installment plan and make compound interest work for you over time. Eliminates the temptation to blow it all on frivolous stuff right off the bat, and creates a larger nest egg for your descendants. (Mind you, most people could live quite comfortably on the interest from the after-tax net of the first year'sinstallment for a jackpot that big.) 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1601736
ryebread October 14, 2015 Share October 14, 2015 I've always wondered about people taking the one-time payout. For me, it would depend on my age. If I were younger, I'd opt for the installments. Assuming I was mature enough to understand the benefits of that. But on the other hand, if I took 100 million of that 190 million 'one time payout' and invested it wisely, I could make up the difference. It's fun to ponder what will likely never happen to me. Ya gotta play to win. And I always forget to play. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1602147
MissMel October 14, 2015 Share October 14, 2015 The one time payout is yours, the installments are not transferable. Either way, it's probably more money than you started with so go whicever way floats your boat. ;-) 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1602416
Yours Truly October 15, 2015 Share October 15, 2015 So on the target! That Subway employee runs the cash register and counts change with those same gloves on too. Agreed! I used to work at Chipotle and I have to say (not trying to toot their horn) but after working there I noticed that much more how other joints use their gloves. We were taught to put gloves on work the line/prep/grill and when it slowed down we had to wipe up sweep up etc. etc. but we used to switch out our gloves CONSTANTLY! Like if for some reason I had a reflecx to touch my face or scratch my nose or put my hair behind my ear.. Done, ripped off the gloves and put new ones on. If we have to grab a new pack of bowls and rip them out of their plastic sleeves... Done rip off the gloves put new ones on. Grab the sanitized rag that's sitting in a bucket of sani water to wipe down the counter... Done rip off the gloves and put new ones on. We went through so many gloves in a day. There was even an alarm that went off every 45 minutes where everyone had to stop what they were doing and go to the automatic hand sanitizer (pretty neat thing) and put their hands in until the timer went off (30 seconds I think). So now when I go to a food joint and I see people with gloves moving around items and doing non food related things with their gloves then turn around and help me with my food order...?? I mean duh, that defeats the purpose of the gloves... SMH! 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/32670-s03e07-storms-a-comin/page/4/#findComment-1605701
