"To everyone who has loved and supported us, we have some personal news to share," they began. "After 21 years together, and 17 years of marriage, we have decided to begin a new journey, and enter this next chapter of life as friends and co-parents," the statement continued. "We are now and forever rooting for each other as we move through this wild adventure called life. The auction is running on my Bluesky account. I’m offering signed copies of any episode of Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, or Arrowverse crossover to the top-5 bidders. (Truth be told, if you wanted a script written by me that isn’t Arrowverse-adjacent, like a comic script or the screenplay for the critically acclaimed Green Lantern movie, I’d hook you up as well.) You can check out the auction here. It ends at 12 PM PST on Wednesday, January 22. It’s hard to imagine now, but there was a time when Zari didn’t feel like part of the Waverider team. In fact, it took Gideon transporting the hacktivist’s mind into a time loop that ended with the timeship repeatedly exploding for the newcomer to truly become a Legend. Over the course of the simulation, Zari found friendship in Nate’s unquestioning belief that she’s living out Groundhog Day — he even suggested a movie-like “fun montage” — and came to better understand Waverider captain Sara. tv echo February 8 Share February 8 (edited) From LoT panel at MegaCon Orlando yesterday... Legends of Tomorrow Cast Reveal Their Dream DCU Roles By Ben Wasserman Feb 8, 2025 https://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-cast-reveal-their-dream-dcu-roles/ Quote Reassembling at a MEGACON Orlando panel, Legends actor Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, and Matt Ryan were all asked what characters they'd like to play if James Gunn ever cast them in the DCU timeline. In response, Lotz and Darvill selected Catwoman and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively, while Routh chose Superman, having previously played him in Superman Returns and reprised his role in Crisis on Infinite Earths alongside his Arrowverse performance as Ray Palmer/the Atom. Ryan, meanwhile, selected John Constantine, the role he played for nearly a decade across NBC's short-lived Constantine series, the Arrowverse, and multiple animated films, including the DC Animated Movie Universe's three-part Crisis adaptation. tv echo February 14 Share February 14 (edited) From MegaCon Orlando... Two-time Superman actor Brandon Routh reveals what he learned to be a better Man of Steel for Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event Joshua Lapin-Bertone Feb 13 2025 https://www.thepopverse.com/movies-tv-dc-studio-superman-returns-crisis-on-infinite-earths-brandon-routh-reprise Quote Speaking to a crowd at Megacon 2025, Routh compared his 2006 portrayal [in Superman Returns] with his 2019 portrayal [in the Arrowverse's Crisis On Infinite Earths], and why he felt he did a better job in his second outing. “I was tasked with transitioning their character from Chris [Reeve] playing the character to me in a similar, pretty much the same story. But I’m a different face, so it’s a different guy. But continuing the same vibe.” “Playing the feeling, the love when you’re Superman, I didn’t know what that was when I was 25. When I reprised it when I was 40, that helped, because I had been a father, and I had understood a lot more things about life, and I felt more worthy of myself, and more worthy of myself in the role, and able to be a better conduit, and tell the archetype and the story of hero and Superman. That continues to grow.” Edited February 14 by tv echo Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/27797-tomorrow-today-media-behind-the-scenes-of-lot/page/70/#findComment-8580667
tv echo February 16 Share February 16 (edited) Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Matt Ryan and Arthur Darvill were part of the LoT panel at MegaCon Orlando on Feb. 7 (starting at around the 28:47 mark)... MegaCon Orlando 2025 Recap: High School Musical, Nicholas Hoult, and Legends of Tomorrow Panels! Pearl the Striker posted Feb. 15, 2025 -- On Sara Lance having one of the biggest arcs in the Arrowverse, CL: "I think the biggest challenge was when I went from Arrow to Legends because the tone was completely different. You went from like super serious - especially my character. She's not a jokester, like, hey! And then all of a sudden, she was. And so I was trying to figure out how does this make sense and how do I adapt to this new show? But I loved her whole journey and I was so lucky to be able to kind of play that, uh, for such a long time and for her to have a nice, happy ending at the end was really cool." -- On how much of Ray Palmer's optimism is him versus the script, BR: "I would say, at first, it was probably 75% Brandon and 25% Ray Palmer envisioned. And then as we went on, uh, especially moved into Legends of Tomorrow, uh, where - where that energy was more, uh, the tone of the show, it was embraced even more and it was a very cooperative, uh, creation... But I was given enough leeway to have that optimism be the driving - the fuel for Ray Palmer in his Tech days, um, because I didn't want him to just be - you know, that'd be the reason why he has all this energy and he's excited about, uh, you know, bringing new technology to help humanity. Uh, he doesn't care about the money that he's making, um, but he wants to help people so much so that he creates a suit to - to, you know, do the same." -- On how comfortable or uncomfortable was the Atom suit, BR: "It got more comfortable as the seasons went on, um, as a few modifications were made as far as, you know, fit. But, you know, I had a great team... The Atom techs, uh, various lovely people who worked with me in the props department, um, helped me get in and out and deal with my complaining about how long is this scene and can we take the top half of the suit off, uh, and then race back into it, you know, in five minutes to get ready for the shot, 'cause I don't want it on my should anymore." -- MR: "I was really blessed that after the original [Constantine] show got cancelled, that I was brought onto Arrow and then brought onto Legends with these guys. And like Caity said, uh, my - the show that I did was a - was a slightly different tone to Legends, so there was a little bit of adaptation that I - that I had to do there. But he still fitted in with the rest of the people and I think the writers really kind of facilitated that and the cast facilitated that and that was great.... I thought that me playing John was over when my show was cancelled. And then they asked me back to do Arrow. And then I thought it was done Then they asked me to do an animated movie. And then I thought it was done. Then they asked me to do Legends. Then I thought it was done. And it just kept on, you know... So, for to play a character, uh, on a TV show for 13 episodes one season and to be cancelled, and to end up playing that character for almost 10 years is, uh, is - is kind of - it's a great thing, you know." -- MR: "At the end of Legends, Nick Zano actually took one of the gargoyles off the stairs of that whole set [John Constantine's house] and put it in my dressing room as a gift. So I come back in and it's like the last day of shooting and he's like, there's a little card saying this is for you, Matt. And there's this huge gargoyle, which I can't put in my back - it's still in -" (Arthur Darvill joined the panel at this point) -- On what stories he would have liked to explore if Rip Hunter were to stay on the Waverider longer, AD: "All that weird, like retro futurist weird stuff. The puppets I would really like to [unintelligible words]... I wanted to work with Beebo... I feel like Beebo was like my - part of me... made just for me. And I never got to spend any with that. But, yeah, like I loved it when the show got really, really, really weird. And I kept pitching them like stupid ideas and they were like, yeah, no, we're not going to do it like that. And then as soon as I left, all my - all the stupid things that we were suggesting was being made into, like, things, and I loved it." -- On where/when they'd like to time travel, MR said that he'd like to see how the pyramids were built, but that he was done with Shakespearean times (but not done with Shakespeare). AD said that "anything pre-toilets is not for me" and that he'd to go somewhere "nice, not that long ago... I just think pre-showers is not for me." BR acknowledged that his normal answer to this question is the Knights of the Round Table time, but he said that he'd also like to see Atlantis. AD then realized that the Waverider would have toilets and showers, so taking that into consideration, he changed his answer to Birmingham, 1974. -- On which characters they'd want to play in James Gunn's DCU universe, BR said that he's played two DC characters: Superman and the Atom. CL picked Catwoman. AD said that he'd "eventually" like to play Alfred. The mod picked Constantine for MR because he thought MR was "perfect" for that character. -- On whether they'd pick the past or the future, CL, BR and AD all picked the future, but MR picked the past because he wanted to be the one "who goes against the grain" and because he wants to know who built the pyramids. -- On whether they'd rather fly the Waverider or pilot the jump ship, the entire panel picked the Waverider. CL: "It's like, do you want to like take the super yacht or the dinghy?" -- On whether they would rather fight alongside the Legends or go solo, the entire panel picked the Legends. -- On whether they would rewrite history or protect the timeline, MR: "Protect the timeline. It is what it is." CL: "I think we've all learned our lesson. You can't change, you know." BR: "Repair the history in order to change the future." CL: "But what if you destroy everything? It's like a butterfly effect. We keep trying to change just one thing and then like -." BR: "Subtle changes." CL: "Did you watch Butterfly Effect?" -- On whether they would rather be on a trivia team with Mick or Gideon, AD picked Mick because "it would be fun." MR: "Also, you'd lose faster." -- On whether time pirates or historical figures gone rogue are more dangerous, BR and AD picked historical figures gone rogue. -- On whether a Legends mission or the Time Bureau operation is more chaotic, there was some discussion that the Legends knew they were chaotic, but the Time Bureau "talked a good talk" but they were really toxic. -- On whether they would pick a superhero fight or an undercover mission, the entire panel picked undercover mission. BR said that an undercover mission would allow him to dress up and be a "silly version" of himself. -- On whether they would pick accidentally erasing yourself from history or getting stuck in a time loop, BR: "I'd take my chances with the loop." AD and CL agreed. MR: "I'm just going to eff it." -- On which is more stressful: leading the Legends or fixing their mistakes, AD said picked leading the Legends. CL said that she would much rather lead the Legends then clean up their mistakes. BR and MR said that fixing the mistakes was harder. When the CW series paired up the do-gooder with Hawkgirl… well, the relationship was so unmemorable and lacking in chemistry that we’ve pretty much blocked it out of our memory. Thankfully, the show course-corrected and moved on from the ill-conceived romance. tv echo March 24 Share March 24 (edited) Episode 262: Interview W/Marc Guggenheim Hops GEEK News Mar 24, 2025 -- Lauren: "How did [Legends of Tomorrow] end up happening, because when the show first started, it seemed like it was just people from all over the Arrowverse that just weren't in those shows anymore?" Marc Guggenheim: "Basically, the way it started was, Mark Pedowitz called up Peter Roth and said, I'd like a third Arrowverse show. And, um, we initially started talking about doing Hawkman and Hawkgirl, um, and - and that's what originally it was going to be. And, you know, our whole sort of philosophy about the - the spin-offs and - and this is something I think, you know, was sort of very counterintuitive at the time - but our whole philosophy was, don't just do another show like Arrow and don't just do another show like Flash. Like, each show should have its own, you know, identity and feel like its own show, even though it's all part of the same universe. And our problem fundamentally with - with The Hawks, as we were calling the show at the time, was, it didn't feel like it had enough of its own reason to exist...It was like, okay, we're adding in some magic stuff, but, you know, it just - it didn't just - it - it felt diffuse... Its identity felt unspecific. And then, you know, we all kind of separately did the math, which was, wait a second, we've got all these extra characters in Arrow and Flash we've established. There's enough here to field the team and do a proper ensemble and that was new. Like, even though obviously Flash and Arrow are ensembles, they're... ensembles centered around a core hero... But no one - we hadn't done a team show before. So we sort of knew we had, like, okay, now that - that excited us. That made it - that made it worth, you know, sort of talking about. Um, Legends had a weird development process because it went straight to series. Um, and I remember like watching the - a rough cut of the pilot with Greg in the editing room and I - I turned to him. I'm like, I think we've been thinking about this show all wrong. Um, we've been talking about the show like it's our Avengers, when really it's our Guardians of the Galaxy... The problem is that, when you go straight to series, there wasn't enough time to - like, the ship had already left the harbor by that point and - and we had sort of committed to this Avengers thing. So that's why it's only in Season 2 that the show starts to become truly like Guardians, um, because we had the time to sort of do like almost a reset. I think, if you - like, look at the season premiere of Season 2, at least for - for - for our purposes, we were - we were trying to do like a hard reset on the show and - and, you know, create, you know, like, sort of a new raison d'être moving forward that was more compatible with this, you know, this Guardians approach. ... That stuff is in the pilot, like the '70's bar fight to, you know, uh, to - to 'Love Will Keep Us Together.' That - that to me is like - that's a quintessential Legends moment. So it was always in the show's DNA, but it wasn't as prominent in the first season as I think the show wanted to be... Normally, you do a pilot and you have a little bit of time between the pilot and your next ep - and the first episode of the show, and in that time, you get to make those adjustments. We didn't have that time... We had to wait for the gap in between seasons in order to make that. ... We rolled straight in from 101 and 102 straight into 103... no break."
