GiveMeSpace May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 I saw a story on Celebitchy that said Raven has been made a permanent host although I have not seen that anywhere else. http://www.celebitchy.com/427390/raven-symone_harriet_tubman_shouldnt_be_the_woman_on_the_20_bill/ From the story: Earlier this month, Raven-Symone officially signed on as a co-host on The View. Just like American Idol, here’s another show that needs to be put out of its misery. The revolving door of View hosts and declining ratings are sure signs of a coming end. Hiring Raven-Symone seems like a move of desperation. Showrunners are perfectly aware of the controversial statements she’s given. They’re hoping she’ll land in some major arguments and pull in viewers. 3 Link to comment
maggiemae May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 (edited) As far as I am concerned RS is on the same level of intellect as SS. Sherri thinks they'd better glam Tubman up a little....Raven that we need "to move a little bit forward. I don't even know why Raven is there.....her age, for a younger point of view? I mean....what does she offer? Not even comedy.....and the totally rediculous, imo, acting out while presentations are being made. So we have WG, NW, RP and RS and endless guest co-hosts. We've had the co-hosts for years now! Can't they get some sense of stability? Edited May 17, 2015 by maggiemae 3 Link to comment
fl2dc May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 I'm going to guess Raven is the "young one" but also fills the homosexual viewpoint too. Too bad Samantha Ponder moved to California, I thought she would have been a decent addition as the "young one." 1 Link to comment
Fannysue May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 Did anyone else find the interview between the guest blonde, Joy, and the diet promoters hilarious? I guess Joy was a little rude, but she did say what I was thinking---"No milk?!??!" JOY is old enough (same age as me) to have been through many, many diet plans. They still all break down to less food, more movement. 5 Link to comment
NextIteration May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 (edited) The biggest problem with Raven as the "young one" is that she is not at all representative of millennials in my experience. The ones I know (and perhaps it's just the company that my kids keep) are educated, open minded, well spoken, accepting and thoughtful in a meaningful way. This not as young lady, not so much. @Milk-Eyed Mender, it wasn't anything that Obama said it was Jeb's inability to answer a question properly. Edited May 17, 2015 by NextIteration 5 Link to comment
merriebreeze May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 Milk-Eyed Mender Here's the right wing version of what Joy and Nicolle had to say about Obama's criticism of Fox News. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2015/05/15/views-rosie-perez-obama-thinks-fox-prejudiced-against-poor I thought the President was pretty much spot-on in his remarks. Plus, I don't think you can legitimately call Politifact (which Joy cited) liberally biased as this piece does. 1 Link to comment
Milk-Eyed Mender May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Thank you so much, Nextiteration and merriebreeze! Now I'm sad I wasn't able to watch Joy, in real time, asking if GWB knew how to use a remote, lol. I still don't understand Nicolle's point that it's beneath a sitting president to comment on a network that sets the narrative for an entire political party, though. (It's not like President Obama invoked Godwin's law and compared FOX News to Julius Streicher's Der Stürmer, which is what that rancid network actually deserves). Nicolle seems to be trying to paint FOX as an obscure little cable operation nobody even watches, when we all know that's where the Republican Clown Car of Presidential Hopefuls gets its marching orders. As for Jeb Bush and the Iraq War, I look forward to watching him - and others - paint Hillary Clinton as a warmonger on one hand while absolving George W. Bush and the GOP of any wrongdoing with the other. 6 Link to comment

Faux News edited the President's comments....and of course The View used the Faux News clip..... here is an overview of what Faux News (and The View) missed http://www.politicususa.com/2015/05/17/cnn-busts-fox-news-lying-president-obamas-remarks-poverty.html 2 Link to comment
maggiemae May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 I can't get excited for any of the guests or co-hosts next week...... So the finale of Mad Men is tonight (west coast) and I can just hear NW tomorrow saying No, No, No! Don't tell me yet....I haven't seen it yet.....don't talk about it! She just did that recently about a show she hadn't seen yet. As far as I am concerned once a show has aired it is fair game for discussion. 6 Link to comment

She didn't want to know about what happened to Betty last Sunday. Nicole always seemed like she watched alot more TV than she probably has time for so I was kind of surprised that no one at the table watches MM. 5 Link to comment
Stacee May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Was it "beneath the dignity of the presidency" to call out MSNBC? Because President Obama has done that too. Or does that particular network not count. 5 Link to comment

I remember it being said that every TV in the white house had to be on Faux News by order of President Bush..... isnt it funny how people forget that point because it is so unimportant 3 Link to comment
