They haven't been featuring Brooke Shields as a guest cohost this season. I liked her a lot, And she has done well, I think, appearing on the 3rd hour of Today occasionally.

If they insist on keeping WG and NW - Brooke and Padma could work for me.

I like this idea too. I'm currently listening to There Was a Little Girl. I believe it wasn't ghost written, and it if weren't Brooke is highly articulate and sensitive and interesting. Well, even if it were ghost written, she's the latter two. She would be a great catch for The View. I guess since Clinton Kelly (whom I surely enjoy) is on The Chew, it's only fair for London to come on The View. At first I couldn't stand her, and I gave Kelly some additional love thinking how well he balanced her out. But now's she's relaxed a little and might not be too bad, but I would prefer Padma.

^^^I understand your consternation and agree, stewedsquash - all that you've said is well documented and verifiable, but I try not to let a celeb's personal life dictate my opinion of their public performance, if possible (the Kartrashians aside).  I had already liked her on Top Chef before learning of her personal drama, and that "like" hasn't diminished since then.  There would, unfortunately, have to be many other enjoyable people I'd have to stop watching if that were my criteria - Letterman comes to mind here, considering his infidelities, as well as Rob Lowe, etc.  Hell, I still like Brian Williams, too! (Please don't judge!!)

The only reason I mentioned the Adam Dell drama was to illustrate her high dealings in society in addition to her marriage to Rushdie.  The woman is very connected!

I agree with this.  It would be a shorter list to name the celebrities who don't have some negative back story.  On the list of "I cant separate their personal life from their public performance" at this point for me are Bill Cosby and Mel Gibson.  Never ever ever gonna support anything they do.

Who is Samantha Ponder who is guest hosting all next week with London?

Does she have the chops to make London bearable?  Between the voice and the arms - basically an over the top affect - I have a hard time with her, London that is.

I wondered the same thing, so I Googled her.  Here's some info.

(IMO, no one can negate all the mannerisms & affects that Stacy displays.)  Just sayin'.

[Did you know Nicolle has a three year old and used to work in the Bush White House?)

OMG, Cosmocrush!   Do you think she could be a R-R-R-Republican?  When will she spill the beans?

I didn't elaborate about the Barbie stuff, but I don't get why they were so bent out of shape about the Barbie dream house.

I agree, Stewedsquash.  My girlfriends and I (all little girls in the mid-40s) dreamed of having mansions as the result of our being movie stahs (and married to one)!  We simply expected to be beautiful, famous and rich...with limousines, chauffeurs, designers, wolfhounds, and fame!  Of course, nothing came in pink...like a Dreamhouse.
