I dont think ratings matter since they canned the SPN backdoor pilot that got a 0.6. I think it will be more what is best for the CW. I always forget that there is a backdoor pilot for the 100 in the works as well. And you never know with CW. Since they also decided against the JTV pilot. lemotomato January 22, 2020 Share January 22, 2020 Ratings-wise, it got about the same numbers as 716 (716 was a smidgen higher in viewers), which didn’t have the advantage of Flash’s timeslot, the extra promotion, and the lead out from the crossover. So congrats to them for spending the money on two backdoor pilots to get the same results. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/18942-ratings-and-scheduling-hail-to-the-gods/page/79/#findComment-5883544
quarks January 22, 2020 Share January 22, 2020 The CW doesn't care about ratings. Any pickup decision for Green Arrow and the Canaries is going to be based on what the CW and HBO Max think the streaming numbers might be and the WB thinks the international licensing fees might be and what Berlanti thinks the production budget will be and if this will all work out to what AT&T thinks the profit margins should be. Which, maybe? AT&T has been merrily slashing its way through a lot of WB shows, but even with the visibly increased budget for last night's episode, Green Arrow and the Canaries is still a pretty cheap show. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/18942-ratings-and-scheduling-hail-to-the-gods/page/79/#findComment-5883624

I had to explain to some friends that no, the backdoor pilot was not the last episode. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/18942-ratings-and-scheduling-hail-to-the-gods/page/79/#findComment-5903057

tv echo June 8, 2020 Share June 8, 2020 (edited) Only 13 of the Top 130 Shows on Traditional TV Gained Viewers for 2019-2020 Season by Artie Beaty on June 8, 2020https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/only-13-of-the-top-130-shows-on-traditional-tv-gained-viewers-for-2019-2020-season/ Quote 2019-2020 was a good year for television sports, but almost every other program suffered. Taking a look at the latest Nielsen numbers, out of the top 133 primetime shows in the prior year, all but 13 lost viewership this time around – and three of the winners were sports. And in the all-important 18-49 demographic, only 11 gained ground including the three sports programs. Before we start diving into numbers, it’s important to note that this data comes from Sept. 23, 2019, to May 20, 2020. So the ratings do include several months into “stay at home” orders when TV viewership skyrocketed. Nielsen did include “time shifted” viewing (DVR) but didn’t include digital platform viewing. * * * So what does this tell us? People are watching big-time TV less pretty much all across the board. And when you break out just the younger demographic, it’s even more pronounced. Not that we need another study to prove this point, but traditional TV is struggling, especially for the 18-49 ages. Now, there is a caveat to consider: almost 40 shows that are in the top 130 for this year were new, meaning they had no data from the year before so they couldn’t possibly gain. That does make up over 25% of the list. But what’s important here is that out of the top 20 shows, only two didn’t have prior data and almost everyone still lost viewers. * * *Top 10 shows that gained viewership or stayed even from 2018-2019 to 2019-2020 (18-49) with their overall rank and percentage gain: ...#106: Arrow (even) Edited June 8, 2020 by tv echo Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/18942-ratings-and-scheduling-hail-to-the-gods/page/79/#findComment-6171355
