The snake Hitler and all the time traveling assassins KILLED me! Typing that sentence is kicking off a giggle fit. Such a weird and good episode.

I think it's inevitable that when you are a fan/superfan of any show from the beginning it seems to go downhill eventually.  Admittedly, I've also done that with other shows and I hate that feeling.

I can't believe we actually got the full episode of Rise of The Numbericons! And it's an episode about Mr. Goldenfold.

I liked the design of the episode, how all the Alphabetrium and Numbericon tech worked. And how the Scribbles were Ewoks and the missing link between the two.

Again, a gloriously stupid episode, I loved it. This was also the first episode Rick wasn't in at all, right?

Fun episode, and we have a potential sequel. I dunno if ice Cube would play himself, though. I'm thinking if the sequel does happen, Principal Vagina would get sucked into it.

Numbers have dicks. Good to know . . . unless you're actually taking a math class, then you'd be screwed with that bit.

ETA: It's fitting that T didn't remember Morty from "Get Scwifty."

So like Rick to have Bigfoot in a Poke Ball. And somehow the Vikings know what Dragonballs are.

Oh man, that Bigfoot kills Rick prediction came true after all. 

It took seven seasons, but Rick finally fought The Pope. And then caught him in a Poke Popey Ball. Loved Rick gathering the classic Universal monsters together to fight The Pope (and somehow all of Frankenstein's parts made it to Valhalla). Loved the underground Pokemon battle at the end, with Clone Rick becoming the New Pope.

Now this was fun. My only quibble is that Rick already made a microverse a few seasons ago only to harvest the tiniest sliver of energy (the Microverse aliens of one planet stomping on Goobleboxes to generate electricity). If instead he had harvested the energy of the suns in the miniature universe, well, it wouldn't be infinite, but probably close enough for most purposes.

OK, that aside, solid work. You'd think Rick could have figured out a way to hitch a ride to Jerry's afterlife instead, but I think Rick craves conflict so he picked the Valhalla option.

I did really enjoy the whole Bigfoot story, from Morty stupidly opening the door and getting killed almost instantly, to Bigfoot's eventual truce with Rick. Shame Rick didn't put Bigfoot back into a body more like his original body.

Loved how the second word of the title is a pun for "death" and hearing Summer asking for "par-MEE-see-on".  Oh yeah, the Soylent Green allusion on the canned space-spaghetti was pretty clever, too. I was a bit surprised Rick didn't serve veal instead of Salisberry steak.

Well, that was fun. Man, Marder and Harmon weren't kidding when they said episode writer Heather Anne Campbell has enough darkness for everybody.

I guess the Hole had to build up something to get to the deep underlying fear of relying on Rick? I don't know, this episode faked me out so many times I don't really know what's what.

I am 10000% convinced if the Hole was real that I would not jump in. The guy in the suit didn't come right out and say it, but the way he phrased things, it didn't sound like everyone who went in got out.

Do you guys have an idea of what Rick's upbringing was like? Did he also have really smart parents or are they average and he was just born super smart somehow?  Would be really interesting to know more about Ricks backstory, his experience growing up and how his relatives dealt with him.

It's weird that the show went on for 7 whole seasons and this is completely unexplored.

Firstly, that was a clever way to do a "clip show", but to actually include a clip was the cherry on top. I liked how the Observers looks like the Guardian Of Forever from Star Trek , too. When they introduced Churry as something bad Morty did, I assumed Morty would eat him after spending the day with him.

I guess in this show parental issues are mostly dealt with via Morty and Beth and Summer, and much less so Rick's own parents and upbringing?

Which Rick set up the Central Finite Curve? Our Rick? Excluding anyone smarter than him either means he cut his parents out of the CFC, or they're not smarter (or even as smart?) as him.

Right now, it is technically April Fool's Day, which means Adult Swim drops unexpected stuff in fans' laps. They showed some avant-garde stuff where scenes from the show are reenacted on stage, followed by a new clip and the announcement that the eighth season will begin on May 25.

Summer episode! And it was about her and Morty being trapped in a Matrix prison for the equivalent of 17 years for taking Rick's phone charger, and not getting her memory Mind Blown. And they were trapped in there for so long because Rick fell asleep. That tracks. And of course Morty had phone charged-based PTSD. That was a really cool concept, especially since Morty couldn't die, he'd just come back every time he did (a la Live Die Repeat/Edge of Tomorrow).

I liked 34 year old Summer in her 17 year old body. That technically made her and Beth the same age, right?

God, loved the fake out that Summer and Morty might've still been in the Matrix, then mindblown anyway. AND the tag revealing hippie vampires?! We're so back.

Next week: Space Beth!

That was fun. Summer and Morty come out of a Matrix-type situation with enlightenment and PTSD, respectively, Rick winds up saving the day while still being a bastard, and I recognized Maria Bamford’s voice immediately. Oh, and AS is running the first season episode where asshole aliens trap Rick and Morty in a simulation to learn Rick’s formula for concentrated dark matter. Nice touch.

Of course Rick would be dick enough to leave his grandkids in a simulation past the time they learned their lesson. Of course the simulation would revolve around phone chargers. And, of course, Summer and Morty come out as adults unwilling to get their minds blown. Oh, and Santa Fe is a haven for artisan creatures that feed to stay middle-aged. Hey, why not?

Very solid episode. I think Morty's PTSD was a little forced for the plot, though.

I'm sure "trapped in a simulation" has been done in SF a lot, as you mention 1x04 (M. Night Shaym-Aliens!) but this show did it again in 6x02 (Rick: A Mort Well Lived) when Morty got stuck in the Roy videogame. Also 7x10 (Fear No Mort), the one with the fear hole.

Funny enough, adult swim sandwiched the premiere between the Fear Hole and M. Night Shaym-Aliens episodes.

Ooh, liked the female Squanch that appeared for like ten seconds.

New intro time! Loved the Tetris bit. Of course Jerry is the funky looking piece.

I really liked the Rick and Space Beth adventure. And it was an excuse to get Birdperson and BirdDaughter involved. They truly are more reliable than Cisco. (Turns out he's a drug addict. Classic Cisco). Liked the callback to Gene and that Birdperson and Rick are both sick of him.

And I always appreciate Stephen Root showing up in things.

Was this the first episode that didn't have Morty in it at all?

That was a fun episode. I was laughing through most of it. Daddy/Daughter kill spree with Rick & Space Beth AND Birdperson and Birddaughter!

Notice that Jerry is made of five squares, not four. He truly does ruin everything he touches.

I was all set to follow that Farmer Rick...and then he was killed by the trafficker Ricks. And then it turns out he was alive. I was hoping we would get another Tales From The Citadel episode. I thought Arcade Morty would turn out to be Slick from the original ep, but nope. Just another Morty.

I liked Fat Southern Rick. And the revelation of Ricks were cloned, too, not just Mortys.

So that's three episodes in a row without Jerry. But he's in next week's ep! And he's jacked!

Good episode. Did you git yo’ mouth ‘round it? Oh, and no mermaid puss for our Morty this time. He did find his fidget spinner, though.

I kept waiting for the reveal of Evil Morty, but I guess he’s way beyond anything Rick and/or Morty-related. Instead, we got what could be the baddest Rick of all, killing dozens of Ricks out of revenge. Oh, and he freed a bunch of Mortys that would d up finding Rick-less lives off their own. I’m thinking they’ll be revealed to have gotten killed midway through the next season.

What were the songs in this episode?
