S48.E13: "Only One of Yous Can Win" LIVE CHAT THREAD

Recommended Posts

I'm just remembering reunion shows of yesteryear, where they tried to pull a "we aren't letting pre-jurors sit onstage anymore" just to hide that Brandon Hantz wasn't at the reunion, or Jerri getting booed off stage, or Rob's proposal to Amber, or just some backbiting, grumpiness, and bitterness.  But now it's all love and fun, and Jeff has milk!

Many years ago, was watching the All-Star reunion, live. In the credits, the studio they filmed in was just down the street from me. My husband said "Go!" and my appletini filled ass popped over. Saw most of them - they had a bus for the cast. Johnny Fairplay tried to take Jeff's limo; got to boo him. 😁

I clearly forgot it. Who won?

S40 five years ago. Tony Vlachos (?) beat Natalie Anderson and Michele (with one L) Fitzgerald.

Two quick questions:

  1. Do any of you guys bid on show props?
  2. How much would a tape of Shauhin doing tribal chanting go for?

See you for S49, because I will not have learned a lesson by then!

Oh, good.  It looks like another ethnically diverse season.  So He Who Shall Not Be Named's directive to end that casting hasn't swept over to CBS.

Not sure if it'll carry over to other seasons, as this season might have been getting finalized before Paramount dropped their DEI initiatives.  I guess we'll see what S50 and beyond look like.  Though I've always made the argument there's no reason why these shows needed a mandate in the first place to have a diverse season.  They did a whole season that had tribes divided by race!  And yes, I think practically everyone was recruited that season, but I still consider Cook Islands one of the best.  For an 18-person cast, though, you can't tell me they aren't enough folks applying that can create a diverse line-up.

Wanted Kamilla to win, then Joe simply because of the stupidity if not voting him out sooner. Then in F3, all in for Kyle and glad Eva didn't win. Eva's expressiin when Kyke got one vote, then two votes, like how dare anyone vote not for her. Eva talking up Joe, Joe and Eva acting like they can suddenly separate themselves from one another for competition purposes...yeah no. IMO Kyle deserved that win up against those two. It was masterfuln when everyone found out Kamilla and Kyle had been working together quietly the entire time!

And for the record, Joe is a Fire Captain and likely earns a decent salary and will get a nice pension so enough with the poor me I need money for thrme kids.

All in all, a lackluster season of gutless non moves. OTOH, they all seem to really like one another and in today's world of US & Them, that genuine camaraderie was lovely to see. And last but not least, I appreciate that Peaxhy appreciated Star.

I have little memory of the ultimate Survivor winners from many seasons and I’ve watched all of them (some are easy, strong memories — others are zero recall for me unless I look them up and see their photo), but I believe I’ll remember Kyle for a long, long time because he was such a favorite of mine all season long just as a person.  I had to literally look up to see who won just last season and I still can barely remember a single thing about her (Rachel).

I can assure you, there were a number of undiagnosed people on the spectrum that won Survivor

!00% agree. They just chose not to disclose or live a life were defines who they are. She comes across more as someone who can't handle situations where she is not able to manage a competitive situation. Her meltdowns were basically when she was unable to do something. I know many people like that. She is obviously very high on the spectrum much as are alot of people, many undiagnosed.
