I wish Survivor did something like American Ninja Warrior and have an open contest to devise new challenges.  Because they couldn't do any worse that the rehash of tasks we keep seeing.

It's exactly what I mean when I say the game is playing the players instead of the other way around. Can't it just be enough not to win immunity? I don't get this show's obsession with making players lose their votes. And it's usually based on something akin to a game of chance. Which amounts to a coin flip. That's not strategy or game play, it's just dumb luck.

Since Mary started off on such a hopeless tribe (that maybe wouldn't have been so helpless if they got rid of the weak link first), it must feel good to actually be doing well in a challenge.

This is why past players are top notch.  It's not a "Back in my day we were better" thing.  It's a given that the past would've wrecked that duo.  They can handle the heat knowing that they're destroying Survivor castaways, not real human beings.  Eva getting tossed or watching Joe get booted is not something I'm losing sleep over

They should at least give them the option like they did at first.  Jason and Bianca went home because of a dice roll costing them their votes.  And Probst is openly telling everyone that the losers of the challenge will have their votes at risk, so they can't even try to fib their way out.  It puts a target on their back.  I'm truly hoping when S50 airs and Probst gets fan feedback we get a better next-new era.
