Zaffy March 21 Share March 21 (edited) Omg, so far it is so funny! so funny! There are so many moments I LOLed. Everything is perfect. The cast is great, even the extras and the very small parts are great. The script is witty, directing and editing are also great. I just hope it will continue this well. MVP of the episode, the calligrapher, with runner up Kylie. Edited March 21 by Zaffy 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8612821
peridot March 22 Share March 22 I loved the widely varying recounting of what happened. It seems true to life too. Marvella the chef seemed extreme. I'm surprised Rylance went for someone so unbalanced. I'm glad they had people hold up paper showing name and occupation, I would never remember. I barely remember now due to the large amount. I wonder who the party crashers were? 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8613795

Just leave it as an absurdity. Fun Fact: the actor playing the Aussie Prime Minister is the son of Billy McMahon, the real life 20th Prime Minister of Australia. 4 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8614248
ribboninthesky1 March 23 Share March 23 Agree that this show is highly entertaining and funny! Lot of characters to keep up with in this episode. The calligrapher had a rough night, heh. The bit with the different Georges was hilarious. On 3/21/2025 at 9:01 PM, peridot said: Marvella the chef seemed extreme. I'm surprised Rylance went for someone so unbalanced. I assumed Rylance was turned on by her...volatility. He was making googly eyes at her during most of her ranting about the menu. Guess he likes it rough! 3 hours ago, Gweilo said: Fun Fact: the actor playing the Aussie Prime Minister is the son of Billy McMahon, the real life 20th Prime Minister of Australia. Interesting! I'm familiar with Julian the actor (Charmed, Nip/Tuck, etc) - didn't know about his family ties. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8614346
SnarkShark March 23 Share March 23 I've liked most of what we've seen, but thought Kylie Minogue as herself and Not-Hugh-Jackman as Hugh Jackman was over the topness. I get the nods to Australia, but it felt like too much. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8614607
chaifan March 24 Share March 24 (edited) I'm loving this show. I love Cupp just sitting there, asking no questions, and getting everything she wants. The back and forth of all the versions of what happened was fantastic - probably more realistic than not based on how faulty human memory is. The one thing that is bothering me is that there isn't any blood on the carpet where AB is lying. It might be hard to see against the blue, but none of the white stars show blood. There's a tiny bit of blood on his cuffs, where the cuff rested against the wrist slashes. But no blood on the wrists, on the hands, etc. (Edited to add: what's really bothering me is that no one - Cupp, or anyone else - has mentioned this.) Has anyone else noticed the hearing is taking place over at least 2 days? The female senator has a blue suit on in some scenes, and a red suit on in others. I assumed the hearing was held on different days based on who the Senate panel was interviewing. 10 hours ago, chaifan said: The one thing that is bothering me is that there isn't any blood on the carpet where AB is lying. I think Cupp noted the lack of blood in the 1st episode. I remember her saying that the body was moved into the room where he was found and he was poisoned. So presumably, the cuts were done after he died (whether by the murderer or possible accomplice). That's my theory, anyway. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8615379

I wonder if the blonde senator from Colorado, the one who is incredulous that AB's death is still being talked about as a suicide, is a wink and a nod to Liz Cheney? possibilities March 29 Share March 29 I'm assuming that the lack of blood is because he was already dead when left there. And if the cuts were made elsewhere, and after he was dead, he would not be bleeding. Also, who knows what the poison was? Maybe a coagulant? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8620562

I'm fairly certain she said there was not enough blood present, not just on his wrists. She may have said, "at the wrists." If so, it could be confusing, but I would still understand that to mean there should be a pool of blood at/around the area where his wrists were lying. The fact that there wasn't much blood would tend to indicate he died someplace else, or the cuts were postmortem, or both; all of which, in turn, would make suicide extremely unlikely. hatchetgirl April 3 Share April 3 Quote (Edited to add: what's really bothering me is that no one - Cupp, or anyone else - has mentioned this.) She definitely mentioned it around 20 min on the first episode (Look at me pretending to know what time it shows up in the show - but i paused the show at 28 min and need to go back) and there was a very small bit of blood under his wrists in the darker part of the carpet. When they showed it, i thought to myself "why isn't there more blood there, is that from being tied up?" and then Cupp asked about the body being moved because there wasn't enough blood. And yes, i'm the weirdo that starts a show, stops it midway to take care of WHATEVER, then goes to the boards to read up on the episodes i haven't seen yet to make sure everyone is loving the show as much as i am! lol 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152501-s01e02-dial-m-for-murder/#findComment-8625399
