There's something annoying about this show, but there are enough little flashes of fun to keep me watching it. In this episode I liked seeing Serena flirting with the reporter, Matt doing his magic tricks, and Alex bonding with her daughter.

I got a chuckle out of Joyce saying they had the best doctors in east north central Oregon. That's quite a qualifier. Matt with guyliner was also pretty funny.

The annoying thing is that it should be better than this. It feels like someone dashed off a rough draft of the script in about 20 minutes and they shot it as-is, without bothering to work on it and punch it up and make it better.

Same thought, particularly when Ron was just going to have him sit in the bed waiting for his insurance to clear and CT to open up.  You have dozens of pediatric patients waiting to hear the guy Ron!  Give him some special treatment so he can do the performing he is there to do!

It's good acting meeting half-baked storylines.  For example, it's sweet to watch Alex go into nurse mode to help uninsured patients get care, while also impressing her daughter.  Both the actors sell it.  The reality of that situation is that Alex and Ron just had their last day at the hospital because they fraudulently charged thousands of dollars in procedures under the special code.  It wouldn't be like in the storyline where Joyce just shrugs away the charges as being odd.

Probably so.  If I heard the lyrics correctly, it was mostly about poop.  Correct me if I'm wrong on that!!

Joyce wanted to, but since they were being filmed, it didn't look good to ignore his medical issues for the sake of going on stage.  And once he was aware of a potential issue, he didn't want to sing either.

That line got me too!  I have family in Oregon and when I told them about this show, I was asked what part of Oregon it's supposed to be based in, but I didn't know.  I did know that it wasn't Portland. Anyway, next time it comes up, I'll tell them it's in 'east north central Oregon!'

Not even Northern Oregon, or North Central Oregon, but the East side of that.

Would it really look bad to wait until an appropriate time to tell the guy about the thing on his neck? That seemed like a contrivance. It wouldn't make any difference to his health if they did the scans before or after the concert.

I don't expect a show like this to be completely realistic, but this one was just over-the-top, particularly with the staff somehow being able to bill dozens of procedures to one patient.

This show owes an enormous amount to Scrubs, and Scrubs managed to be a lot funnier while also depicting the life of a resident pretty accurately. If you're going to give up that realism in order to be completely outlandish, it should at least be in the service of some great humor. And this was more cringey than funny, IMO (especially re: everything that came out of Bruce's mouth).

Probably not, but Ron was adamant about informing him that minute, and they were being filmed.  It would've looked really bad if waited to tell the patient for their convenience.

I loved that show! I wasn't too crazy about the current episode, but overall, I really like the show and all of the previous ones.

He doesn't bother me.  'The Todd' of Scrubs got away with a lot worse dialogue!!  😜

Well, there were also all those sick children waiting to hear their favorite performer, so it wasn’t just Joyce’s convenience.  Nah, suddenly remembering that they are being filmed was 100 percent a plot device.  It wasn’t a consideration when they were revealing Colby’s medical information to him on camera, nor when they were committing fraud later on in the episode.  The show shouldn’t have brought it up.  They should have had, say, Bruce let it slip that Colby should see a doctor about his neck, and Colby would then insist that he is too concerned to perform now and wants to have his tests done asap.

Or Colby could have said to Ron, "You keep staring at my neck. Is there something wrong with it?" I could see Ron, in that situation, not wanting to lie.

I thought Ron was deliberately trying to sabotgage the fundaraiser for some reason. Joyce was fine with awiting til after to tell him, but Ron was not going to let it go. And he was seeming hostile to the fundraiser from the start.
