Thalia February 5 Share February 5 (edited) Well that was certainly -- something. I found myself cringing during a lot of Dr. Will's theatrics. I guess he pulled this same kind of stuff back on BB? But walking off after the excursion, beating up on Dickson, his attitude during the ceremony -- it was certainly watchable, but it didn't make me respect his Mad Gaming Skillz. If this was a BB strategy, Will may find out the same thing Dan Gheesling did on Traitors. What works on a 90 day game may not work when alliances and decisions and surprises are implemented over the course of a quick week or two. Aside: I'm going to be ageist for a moment (retired Baby Boomer here) -- but I wonder if it was more palatable to a TV audience when he was younger and hotter. I didn't have a problem with will going 1-6 on the cases, but most contestants use the case ceremony as a chance for some back and forth with other contestants. Will could have laughed with them or given them some kind of explanation, whether true or not. Instead, he seemed like he was just thumbing his nose at them and being a smart ass. And while walking off seemed dramatic, it was disrespectful to MG (YMMV) and I'm glad he came back. Did last year have as many excursions where half the cast got safety? Although I like the members of The Family as individuals, I don't like the group as a bloc and wish they'd been under more pressure. Madding crowd February 5 Share February 5 They need to think of better challenges; these are boring. And the “temple” part isn’t all that exciting since they only have 12 cases. All the cases are high or low, no middle anymore. Phillip, who lied to Parvati about the value of his case, is upset with Parvati because she lied about the value of her case. People were disgruntled at Will for his lack of strategy in going in numerical order. Well, that's as value a strategy as any other in a game of CHANCE. Then they're made when they thought Will accepted the $70,000 something offer. Well, that's at least more than $1. Also, one of the goals when playing the banker is to stay in the game and there were 3 values over the offer and 5 values under the offer, so statistically that was a good offer. They play it off that the entire goal is to build the amount for one of the final cases, when it should reflect the goal of staying in the game. And Dickson is all 'why do you think I'm a weasel?' when he knows he told people he would target CK. Glad the others have finally woken up to the alliance that is 'the family.' I don't understand why they so blatantly showcase their alliance to others. Oh, and I think the producers thought the challenge would be way more suspenseful and strategic than it actually was. It might have been different if they assigned partners rather than let them pick their own partners. And this season it has really emphasized the huge amount of luck when the play the banker. But at least Joe has stopped talking about the chance for a hundred million or what ever they were pushing last season. LakeGal February 5 Share February 5 I am probably alone here. But I loved watching Dr will last night. Without him the episode would have been extremely boring. He does not give a shit and it showed. Everyone was so angry and hurt that he would dare pick the numbers in order or take an offer they didn't like. Well I didn't see anyone else offering to play the banker. We laughed at how much Dr Will was getting under everyone's skin. I almost never remember a given reality show's cast members from season to season. But last year's group was pretty memorable, at least to me. Especially Boston Rob (natch), Aron, Alyssa (the red-head Aron was gaga over), Amy, Jordan, Claudia Jordan, Miranda and the wacky Kim Mattina. And I agree with you, they seemed to have more personality. and now that they have Dr. Will to focus on, the rest aren't fighting with each other at all. I personally hate all the chatter about how a case number aligns with a loved one’s birthday, or represents the number of their kids or nephews or neighbors named Bob… just pick a damn case, already. This is another thing that annoys me. Sure, you want to build the pot in case you get to play for it, but you can’t play for it if you’re NOT THERE. I actually prefer that - I don't need a story to go with every case number. Just pick one! I agree last season's cast was better. I like "The Fam" individually, but together they are kind of smug and insufferable. With MG gone, they are in the minority and everyone is sick of their fam talk. It would serve them right if they get picked off one by one. I honestly cannot stand Seychelle. She is worse than Will to me. Madding crowd February 8 Share February 8 I think if you are doing the 1,2,3 order you are more likely going to get at least some of the higher numbers which means less money added to the ultimate pot. It always seems like the high number cases are spread around and not just in the 8-12 cases. If it is really entirely random then it wouldn’t make a difference but I know in the original show they never seemed to have high number cases in numbers frequently picked.
