So we're getting closer to narrowing down a number - maybe - 25% of the prisoners could have escaped; but we still don't know how many were in there in the first place.

And ex-prison guard is doing his own side quest....

According to the pilot, the point of The Pit was to learn from the inmates, but they apparently gave up on this week's serial killer, but kept him around anyway for however many years?? To... use up resources?? or what?

*Obviously* the explosion wasn't an accident, but at least they addressed that right away. On the other hand, I'm not into the conspiracy angle.

I didn't quite catch what it was that FBI Profiler Lady (sorry, haven't learned the names yet) lied about regarding her childhood friend, etc.; but I have a feeling it's not going that important in the long run.

Case of the week was interesting, however, I need at least a couple of the main characters to be compelling enough to make this appointment TV, and that's just not happening yet. (I don't think any of the actors are bad, though.) Also, now I'm rethinking if I actually want to watch serial killers every week. I'm still giving this a couple more episodes.

Presumably they don't have folks willing to "kill an already dead man" and put him in a secret grave. And you know those scientists, they all have that assistant willing to move up and give it a try himself if they knew of the secret. The prison is there and you are running out of executed serial killers so you hold on to your stock of seeds.

After watching the 2 episodes I like the premise of a secret government prison of the most insane psychopaths getting experimented on and many escaping. Hopefully they'll have that one bad guy that keeps alluding them through out the series.

Now tbh this is the type of show that would do better streaming, if you have show about escaped psychopaths they can do but so much on regular tv.  Unless they go all out like Hannibal which was a hard pg 13 for regular tv, they need the gore and creepiness that streaming can give like Criminal Minds and Evil when they went to streaming.

I'm into shows like this, so I was excited to give this a shot. I even stuck with it with it after the weird premiere. But I  was irritated that while trying to save Brennan from a known serial killer, they approach his hideout and out of three people no one goes to the rear of the house. That was just the the most ridiculous nonsense. Never would have happened and shouldn't have been written. Then, while the basement was being filled carbon dioxide and she has a loaded gun, she took forever to finally shoot the door open. I was yelling at the TV to shoot out the windows before I saw the other door. She's also could have shot the doorknob at the top of the stairs and gotten back out that way.  She's supposedly best in her field and yet they make her so stupid. I don't think I can stick with it. I'll give it a few more episodes but if they're gonna make it brain- numbingly stupid, it's a nope for me.

This episode gives FBI Most Wanted vibes.

Two episodes in and Bex has already trusted Shane with her past. Really Bex??!

This show keeps telling us that Bex is a great profiler. This episode proves that Bex is a shitty negotiator. If Jacob Hassani doesn’t arrive on time, they’ll have a different outcome.

What if it wasn’t Oliver who downloaded a thousand terabytes of encrypted data 10 minutes before the blast? Other guards, including Shane could’ve done that from his office, the timing was just a coincidence.

The writing for the 4 main characters needs to improve. So far, there’s nothing compelling about each of them. It needs more than giving them backstories. 😣

Yeah -- when she got down there, I was like: 'Good; there are several windows she can break.' ... Then she didn't do that. 😑

Also this. Even if it was the warden, that doesn't prove he knew about the explosion beforehand.

When she was a kid she suspected her friend's dad was a killer. She convinced the friend to go investigate his office/basement/whatever and they found proof, but then the dad caught them. She ran home to call the police and by the time they got there dad had killed his friend. But she lied and said she went investigating alone so it didn't look so bad that she didn't make sure her friend got out safe too.

I really can't imagine anyone caring about this. Who is going to blame a 12ish year old for running away from a serial killer, and not thinking he would kill his own daughter? And who would care about a kid lying after being in such a traumatic event? This show has plenty going on without adding that.

It seems like he's going to be a problem for Bex.

Spoiler

‘The Hunting Party’: Melissa Roxburgh on Bex Being ‘Incredibly Torn’ About Oliver and Trusting Shane

She reveals that there were plans to possibly bring him back, “but then as shows go, things got busy.” She does hope to see him again in a second season, should they get one.

Agent Ressler from 'The Blacklist' would disagree.  😉

The FBI agents are not coming off too well in this show.  First, there's too much 'lone wolf' going on.  As soon as Bex deduced that Jessup was in the house somewhere, backup should have been called, like, immediately.  But by then it was too late as Jonson went down in the basement by himself (Don't ever do that!) and managed to get captured by Jessup.

I missed the first episode so it will take a bit for me to catch up, but it seems interesting enough.  I'm not in for blood and gore, though.

They can't call in back up, the secret of the undead will get out. It does call for a bigger hunting party to be read into the secret than just a girl in the chair, a disgraced profiler a CIA officer and a prison guard

They can. There was a whole scene near the beginning showing the extent of their task force at their (temp?) headquarters. And I'm glad they did, because that addressed one of my complaints from the pilot.
