Panopticon November 7 Share November 7 I know that all the cool kids hate the reboot, but my uncool self thought it was absolutely hilarious when Frasier revealed that Alan loves murder mystery parties. 2 Link to comment

Alan's panicked, "You promised you'd never tell!" reaction was priceless. He was hilarious in general this episode - his "If this is historically accurate, I'm over sixty, can I be dead?" line also made me laugh. As did his "So this is what a man crush feels like!" when he saw a photo of Mad Dog. This whole episode made me laugh so much, from Olivia getting REALLY into the whole thing to Frasier's card that revealed he knew so much about diseases because he had so many of them to Freddie trying to hide his love for that dog-centered reality show to Alan's "Everyone run!" upon realizing it was murder mystery party, and David instantly holding the door shut when everyone started to head out. The dinosaur ice sculpture was great, too, and I love how they called back to that towrads the end. The reveal of who was responsible for destroying the party was great, too. Especially when the professor made his dramatic exit...only to come back for his cell phone XD. I also liked how Frasier made it up to Olivia by deciding to play along with the game and solve who messed up her party. I felt so bad for her when she saw her destroyed dollhouse. That dollhouse looked cool, I would've been sad, too! And I'm glad Frasier and Holly managed to make a fun second date out of it. I also liked him going to the hockey game for her, and her translating the hockey action to encourage him to trash talk the refs :p. This episode was a lot of fun. Definitely one of my favorites from this season. 2 Link to comment
SoMuchTV November 8 Share November 8 Okay, (as the grandparent of a baby recently diagnosed with a peanut allergy) I didn’t appreciate the comment about “a couple of bees and a handful of nuts and we could take out the whole room.” Implying allergies are the result of nerdiness? Or a character flaw…? Also not sure what to make of the fact that everything Professor Imply-not-infer picked up on, I had already noticed. Other than that (Mrs. Lincoln) I did enjoy this one. 2 1 Link to comment
Sarah 103 November 8 Share November 8 I really enjoyed this episode. It was pure silly fun with a touch of heart and it was wonderful. It was ridiculous in the best possible way. I liked that Holly seemed to be up for being a part of one his dating disaster/dates gone horribly stories. I liked the reveal that Alan is a huge fan of murder mystery parties. Olivia being a fan of murder mystery parties is very in keeping with who she is. 2 Link to comment

More like the reverse, especially with the bees - if going outside risks a medical emergency then you're more likely to become a giant nerd who spends all their time indoors. 2 Link to comment
Avabelle November 8 Share November 8 I loved this episode. I’m not a fan of Holly though. Shes too superior and I don’t like how she keeps teasing the “nerds”. shes too new to be that familiar. I adored Olivia in this episode. She was hilarious. 2 Link to comment

I really liked Olivia telling different groups different lies about what kind of party it was going to be so she could trap everyone for her murder mystery. I agree it was all very silly, but it worked well. I liked seeing the actress who plays Olivia getting an episode centered around her. She always makes the most of whatever they give her to do in a given episode. 6 Link to comment
Bumblebee84047 November 10 Share November 10 I felt so bad for Olivia when the dollhouse was destroyed. So glad Frasier came though for her. 2 Link to comment

This was an odd episode, it had great lines and great acting. But I just couldn't help feeling annoyed by all of them behaving like jerks. Olivia had put so much thought and effort into the party and they couldn't even pretend to have fun. And who doesn't love a murder mystery party? Especially if your plan B consists of watching a dog dancing show. Which isn't something to feel ashamed of unless you're being a snob about murder mystery parties. Also that doll house must have cost a small fortune and jerk professor should have been made to pay. But then I love Dorothy L. Sayers and just watched Lord Peter Wimsey on Youtube - so what do I know... 1 Link to comment
