cfinboston October 17 Share October 17 This was just insanely weak. Among the many problems, aren't sperm donors limited to reduce the likelihood of biological siblings meeting and potentially having a baby together? The bigger and more obvious problem is sperm donors would be tested for genetic diseases. He wouldn't have gotten past screening. If nothing else, wouldn't someone along the way have sued the sperm bank if the baby had a hereditary illness? It's the FBI. Marissa wouldn't find out she's being considered for a promotion because her former sister in law read some emails she wasn't supposed to. Why did Izzy not have any visible burn scars? The new professor that hired Phoebe hired her to not work? How is Phoebe the literal opposite of every other overworked TA? And despite her wanting Phoebe to do nothing, she gives her a paper she plagiarized? 1 1 Link to comment
jah1986 October 17 Share October 17 Ugh, this show. I so want to like it, but they don't want me to. I do not care about the former intern, AT ALL. I don't care about the current interns. Can we just focus on the cases, and can the cases make sense? I was wondering about Izzy's scars but realized she was wearing sleeves (?) to cover/protect her arms. 2 1 Link to comment
Rodney October 18 Share October 18 (edited) This show is all right, as I like how Alec's experiments present many deep dives into the human mind and many human behaviors. But they made a mistake by not getting rid of Phoebe and Rizwan. They still add nothing. Rizwan could maybe add more if they more directly involved him in the cases. But there's really no use that I can see for Phoebe. Which is a shame, because I do like the actress. Edited October 21 by Rodney 1 Link to comment
Trini October 20 Share October 20 Fast-forwarded Phoebe's scenes; ...and now there's a third assistant I don't care about. So I thought this one was a little less clunky with integrating the behavioral concepts (seems to be a mandate to include them, unfortunately). Because of the apparent TV procedural requirement to introduce the killer before the reveal, I knew it was the technician guy from the start; even if we didn't know why yet. Is cilantro on fried rice even a thing? So are they setting up Alec getting his scars (magically!) removed? LOL - I knew Jesse was going to get tired of that eventually! But that bombing arc was done, so it's fine, I guess. Link to comment
seacliffsal October 21 Share October 21 Too many 'leaps' for this to make sense to me. The first nonsensical leap revolved around cilantro. I like cilantro but have never had it on Chinese food-and then to magically come up with bad teeth? Wish the interns were either gone or featured much less. I also think they really stretch the story to include 'experiments' which are they magically able to pull together within mere hours. And they were so obvious with the whole 'laser to remove scars.' Yes, we get it-the scars take a long time to put on Jesse, but we hardly ever see his back scars and the facial ones are not usually that noticeable (to me). Oh well. I also think it will be difficult as the show mores forward to always have cases that involve the FBI-I think lower profile cases could be just as interesting and might not require such storyline stretches. 1 Link to comment

I like the experiments, but the show needs to rework how we see them. What I picture is seeing them conducted in a completely different time period, i.e., they have nothing directly related to the case. But of course they tie in to the case in hindsight. We see Alec and his aides/interns/whatevers doing the experiment, then we see the case. Maybe it goes back at one point or another. I like sociology and psychology experiments, so not the way they do it on this show. Yeah, immediately -- and I mean IMMEDIATELY -- when i saw the guy, I knew it was the killer. Maybe I watch too many of these shows. 2 Link to comment
