As Whitney prepares for her 40th birthday trip to Spain, tensions rise as Glenn pushes a wedding engagement on Hunter; Tal reveals he may not be able to join Whitney as he checked himself into mental health treatment.

Didn't Jessica tell Whit to stop thinking every man you meet is marriage material? Is this extreme sports guy story line who needs a wife over before it started? Who says stuff like "do you need a wife to a stranger?"

Seems like Glen enjoyed the room reveal. The ceiling was way too busy for my taste, but the room looked good. Bathroom-meh.

Tal, get better! Glad you recognized you need help. I bet mental health professionals do struggle at times. Imagine every day at work dealing with everyone else's life problems.

Bet he goes to Spain.

I noticed that Tall told Whit he was starting intensive outpatient treatment, but then Whit told her dad it was inpatient treatment.  Then, later, she mentioned it was outpatient.  I guess she made a mistake and then corrected it or he did both kinds when the show was airing.  Hope he’s ok. 
 

I found the description about Whit communicating online with the new guy absurd.  Not sure where they got that idea, but it’s ridiculous.  That holds no interest for me at all.  
 

This past weekend one of my girlfriends and I were discussing the kind of men we are attracted to…..a man who is health conscious, focused on good nutrition, makes fitness a priority in his life and looks fit.  That’s because those are things we are focused on!  We work hard to be fit and healthy, so being in a relationship with someone who isn’t doesn’t interest me.  Not that I’m any better than anyone else, just focused with different priorities.  So, I can’t imagine what this sports extremist would have in common with Whit.  

I didn’t care for the room makeover, but Whit made her dad happy. She was successful because she did what he wanted, not what she would have liked. That’s difficult to do.

That's what I thought after the initial, 'here we go again, she picked another thin, fit guy'.   She mentioned that he's fat, but he didn't look that big in the photos.  Not saying you can't couple with someone who has opposite interests, but eventually, after the excitement of someone new dies down, it usually becomes the path to growing apart. Never mind 'the man I'm going to marry' stuff.  Talk about having a pattern.  Look, if her boyfriends won't appear on camera, don't even mention them because I'm not interested in seeing quick clips of Mr. BlurryFace.  Its not engaging when it's just Whitney's side of everything. 

Room looked ok.  Hope Tal gets better.

Heaven knows I’m no interior designer and most of my walls are simple single colors, but when i saw the shots of that remodeled bathroom, my first thought was that a peacock had exploded and stuck to the walls.

Of course he'll go to Spain.  Since he worried about getting in trouble with his job, I had to wonder what kind of counseling job has no problem with their counselors appearing on tv in a speedo to do sexual healing baths with friends? 😂

Agree 💯. I imagine he’s a “special case” with whatever job he has. I can’t imagine one of my coworkers taking a mental health “sabbatical” and managing to work in a vacation during that time. In the real world - that would be an automatic “nope”. But I suspect that this is yet another scripted “Will he or won’t he” scenario perfectly in line with reality tv tropes. Per usual - nothing this season seems very genuine. But I’ve come to expect that with MBFFL. Irt the glamour shots for her profile- I hope Whitney stays with the clothed ones. She’s looks cute. The nudes are unflattering and super cringe IMO. But - again - it’s all for the show.

That room with the wallpapered ceiling is hideous.  When she eventually goes to sell that place after Glenn's passing that is going to put buyers off.  She's probably not going to get the financial windfall she thinks she is going to get.

Regarding Tal, I would suspect he had to discuss all of this with his employer and HR before the storyline could be shown on TV.  My experience with stuff like that is that employers will give you some leeway as long as their name isn't mentioned.  I'm not sure if he has his employer listed anywhere on social media.  I'm sure the Reddit sleuths would find it if he does.  As far as taking a trip in the middle of FMLA, if it was planned so far in advance they may go for it or tell him he has to take that as paid vacation rather than FMLA time.

Now I do think Tal's situation is real.  Whitney's response to it was disgusting.  When someone says that they are doing therapy once a week the correct response is not "Me too!"  The correct response is "I hope everything works out" or even "how can I help?"  And regarding the trip, the correct response is not "Wahh, it's my birthday!"  The correct response is "We'll miss you if you can't go, but please take care of yourself first"  I can't see Whitney saying any of that stuff.

And as for her birthday, I spent my 40th birthday working because it fell on a weekday and I have a job.  Not only could I not afford a fancy trip, but that day I had to stay extra late because our high level manager called a meeting to tell us that some people were going to be laid off.  They already knew who they wanted to get rid of, but they weren't going to tell anyone for a couple weeks for reasons.  But, we shouldn't get distracted.  She needs to quit whining like a spoiled 5 year old.  She gets a lot more than most people.

But won't they care when someone comes in to be counseled and gets assigned to Tal and recognizes him from his tv antics?  It's not like he's a store clerk or something.  I'm a retired teacher and can just imagine the looks on the faces of the administration if I told them what I wanted to do for my "other job" 😂

I finally caught up with this episode. Not that I believe that any of this is real, but did I hear her right that she thinks she's more flexible than the average 40 year old because of her dancing? Wow, that's delusion! I think it's no coincidence that we now see her only doing dancing and other activity (like with her father) that might more accurately be called "Senior aerobics"! And at 40 there was NO WAY I would be lying on the floor out of breath after that level of activity. Then again at 40 I might have weighed 130 lbs. if that. And I was a LOT more flexible than she is now! Even she did more intense exercise a couple of years back when she was 50 lbs. heavier than she is doing now. But of course that was then and this is now and she's trying to BS us into believing her lies.

Then she admitted that she had only recently gotten over her sprained ankle. Again I don't believe her that she achieved and is maintaining her recent weight loss with senior-level intensity exercise only done for the camera and nursing a sprain. She HAS to be taking weight loss drugs. If not the only other thing I'd believe is bulimia.

She also seems to think she has a "gift" for interior design, then she produces a room that looks like she threw everything against the wall she could find to the point of overkill. No wonder she's exhausted after all that. It wasn't THAT bad, but I guess the expression "less is more" means nothing to her. Of course Daddy, who has been reduced to nothing more than another barnacle since mom died, says he loves it. Yeah, he loves it as long as it means the cash register in his head still goes "cha-ching"! Sure, he'll keep the house and let them have it after he passes. He doesn't have to sell it as long as he does his part to keep the show on the air and the money rolling in. 😏

I love Tal but I'm not believing his story. Maybe he entered such a program at some point like when he was mostly absent from the show a while back but he is not showing signs of needing that kind of thing now as much as he says he does. I'm sure they're just using that to create fake suspense about him not going on the trip. Like we all know, he'll go. And like a lot of us I don't believe he even has a real counseling job. But I've seen people who say they're counselors on reality shows before doing much worse than wearing a speedo and doing sexual healing baths, LOL. 😉

And no way was that guy into all those sports "large". We could see it with our eyes, why does she still try to BS us? I don't even think SHE would be this pathetic, but the lengths she goes through to consider any guy she even chats online with for 15 minutes her next marital prospect are really embarrassing. I cringed that she would even mention marriage right out of the gate. That's a SURE way to put a guy off. Then she picks a guy she could never keep up with. Not that I believe that any of this was real, but she seems to want to portray herself as defeating herself in finding a man. But didn't I predict before this season started that we would see her engaging in fake and lame "attempts" at meeting men?  Yeah, I did and here we are!

Although in my experience many people that act like they're so into sports and physical activity on dating sites are FOS. They film themselves doing that to look more interesting and concerned about their health than they really are. Meanwhile it's something they only do once in a while if that. Just like her, LOL!

Did I blink and miss Daddy putting pressure on Hunter to get married? I thought he already did that in another episode. I thought he was putting pressure on her to find someone. But by that point I was probably falling asleep so I might not have gotten that straight.

The most confusing for me was what she was  doing on the floor with that column.  Stretching?  Lol.  I do think that for her her size, she’s pretty spry.  A lot of people her size can barely get off the couch.  And, few are in the gym.  I’m in the gym almost everyday, and have been for over a year and I never see anyone there her size.  There are some overweight women who go to the pool, but not cardio.

I think she was trying to prove how "flexible" she is (and failing, LOL).

Perhaps for her size and age she's spry but she's saying she's more flexible than other 40 year olds regardless of weight, or at least that's how she came across to me.

Yeah personally, I would be mortified to participate in something like this.  I am not a counselor or a teacher, but I would not want my coworkers or my boss for that matter to see me engaging in some of these activities.

Right!  That's why I think it depends on the job - I could not go to Tal with my mental health issues and sit across from him with a straight face and hope he would help me, is all I'm saying 😄

If Whitney really wants to understand why she doesn't have a man yet, she need look no farther than her reaction about the possibility of Hunter proposing on her birthday trip to Spain. Her stupid birthday vs. someone she supposedly cares about, choosing to make his deepest demonstration of love for a future with the love of his life, in a beautiful and unique setting...yet which one does Whitney go all-in for, and which does she pre-tantrum against?

I thought she gave herself away when she said (I can't remember which episode it was) how sexy she feels Flamenco dancing and that "IF there were a man she were interested in," she'd want him to see her doing it.  I thought she was still in love with Le Blur?  I noticed that her Flamenco dancing is a lot of posing and facial expressions and throwing her arms around; not moving her feet or covering much ground, as usual.  Authentic dancers seem to be engaging in quite an aerobic exercise, of which she doesn't seem capable.

Color me confused. They are in Spain for maybe 4 or 5 days? Why are they spending time

1. Going on dates with strangers?

2. Practicing for a dance?

I know the weather is bad, but take a tour, go to local restaurants, explore castles or anything Picasso.
