I don't understand how Timber could have built such sturdy shelter but not allowed for an inside fire and a chimney.  In the past we've seen people spend days working on nothing but a hearth and chimney. 

The size of the fish they've been catching this season is astounding.

William - quit your bitchin' about the beaver. You bashed its adorable little head in; be grateful for every bite you get out of it. I hope that crow leads a couple wolves there to dig out your stash.

Timber - "The pine marten is curious about me." Dude, he's hanging out because you leave food all over the place. He knows all he needs to know about you. Also, hope you don't run out of bear bangers, shooting them off to give a weasel a "bad experience".

Anyone believe that the escaped fish "just happened" to get snagged in a visible and reachable spot?

I thought that too. He knew enough about the show to build a "Roland style" cache for his moose meat but doesn't remember all the contestants building chimneys for their shelters? He builds the Taj Mahal of shelters but leaves that out?  LOL. Also, if he knew about the Roland style cache beforehand why didn't he do that instead of letting the martens get at his meat?

One of my absolute favorite things about Alone is the accompanying music. The Music of Doom when the camera sees a grey jay land on a log near William's (?) food?! I laughed out loud! 

Never took Dub to be a drama queen. Dude, you fell in the water for less than a minute and you have a nice long walk home. You'll survive because the movement will warm your extremities. Stop freaking out and think. If you didn't walk through that ticket on your way to the river, you are heading in the wrong direction.

I'd like to see more of Sarah, but maybe she's just sheltering in place and conserving her energy. I think I'd want as one of my ten items a big thick book to wile away the hours. You could use the already read pages for kindling or toilet paper.

I did like the observation that it's not the wolves and bears you need to worry about, it's the mice and voles and birds and other small predators that will relentlessly take your food and leave you nothing. 

How cute are pine martens? And baby beavers ☹️?

Unfortunately, books are not on the list of items contestants can choose from.  NOTHING to help while away time.

Short of being medically extracted for appendicitis or something, this is Timbers game to lose.   It must make the editing difficult.  At least he’s an interesting character

I assume that was due to the energy expenditure that was involved.  Timber's in an odd area where he doesn't have any younger, smaller trees to cut to use.  That's partly why his shelter is so sturdy.

Seriously.  I was clicking back and forth between Alone and the Olympics, and I thought maybe Sarah had tapped out and I just missed it.

I seem to recall that Roland was not a very popular character on this forum, although he was obviously skilled and effective (apologies if I have him mixed up with someone else).  But it seems he gets more than his fair share of mentions on this show, so he must be someone potential contestants look up to.  Didn't he stab a musk ox to death?

Yeah, he stabbed a musk ox to death and people didn't like that much.

I wasn't a fan of his because he was very blah.  He wasn't funny, he wasn't friendly, he was just...there.  Now, just so you all think I'm nuts, I don't like Timber because he's too out there.  It's a fine line...

Timber has (chosen) the dopiest name,  but he is a wizard at this stuff. I'm rooting for him(ber). 

I think this season is among the best/most interesting.
